  1. Ray was at top peak in his career when this happened, he wasn't leaving the game nor asked to.
  2. or they are sorta forcing him to keep trying to get back to game condition?
  3. just like the wonder horse who overcame a broken leg and won the Kentucky Derby? i wish Alex the best in trying to live a normal existence for the rest of his life
  4. in Memphis i saw a modest sign pointing the direction to Jackson, so i thought maybe i could add it into the weekend road trip. it was a few miles outside my car travel budget for that particular weekend. got to enter the border of Mississippi for a few miles, my 43rd continental state i've set foot in
  5. i am humbled by your honourable tribute. would be a good life until you murder your girlfiend while she uses the bathroom
  6. big Expos fan in the 70s, not really feeling much connexion here, to be honest
  7. infection... hopefully some day we can remove it as a problem....
  8. you better be a superstar in the NFL or your route is yes sir, no sir, 3 bags full sir... for any question asked of you
  9. the bone and scar to this day is depressed a full inch on his leg, the infection from the injury was hindering recovery (antibiotics are much better now) it was a nice gesture to leave the chart on his chest with the good news.
  10. from a football severe fibtib injury my uncle went through a 7th surgery back in the 70s, told there would be nothing more they could do to save the leg if this one didn't work out. he woke up and found the medical chart on his chest with it stating it was a success. they weren't supposed to leave it there but it was much appreciated.
  11. good to read that advances in antibiotics can keep you going back to surgery, they would have amputated even a few decades ago.
  12. i had a day off from a work file near Little Rock and drove over to Memphis to see Graceland. sidetracked to the Civil Rights Museum, at the Lorraine Motel, in the morn and Graceland in the afternoon i was on my own so they put me on a bus to the mansion ahead of couples waiting for hours that day. both visits were quite memorable and recommended if you ever happen to be in Memphis, it's not that easy to find yourself there.
  13. yeah, Northwestern and then MIT is a decent educational background. doesn't mean he is wise and brilliant and always righteous, but it should safeguard him from flippant comments on being uneducated and not thinking before acting.
  14. how can you possibly bother to continue with this?
  15. if the tax authorities accept the situation, often after extensive discussion with complex and multi-company situations, it isn't to be reopened by people to debate all over again.... oh yes, i guess it can, so CNN can go on 24/7 over each line of a return that has been accepted by tax authorities
  16. Detroit is the same way, nothing going on for blocks directly around Ford Field/Comerica, everything nailed shut on Sunday you walk out onto the street of a metro city and there is NOBODY and NOTHING in your eyesight, strange feeling the first few times. my pattern for the last decade of road trips was the downtown hotel within a safe half-mile walking distance of the stadium, for which Detroit and Cleveland can readily accommodate. But staying at a place on the outskirts and driving around for food and leisure time and the inevitable parking woes might be work it for the future.
  17. it's not open season to hold or chop-block or spear on players on the field just because they aren't directly in the play you can't add another layer of interpretation to officiating as to whether the foul had no bearing on the outcome of the play football rewards teams disciplined enough not to do bonehead things like hold an opponent far away from the mapped out play
  18. sounds good not a hope of any of it happening
  19. the ghost town aspects of C's downtown keep me in my hotel room until it's time to walk over to see a game.
  20. Sort of a repeat of the drama of John Lennon’s comments on Christ, but LeBron knows he is more important those those two combined.
  21. you have to lead a team to the SB to get a job at QB????
  22. It didn’t begin with Bork.... and Bork was toast once he did Nixon’s dirty work of the Saturday Night Massacre
  23. The name is Raab, Brocolli Raab Pronounced Rob, friends call me Rapini make sure you spell that right on my form...
  24. He’s always been a strange personality to use as the league spokesman. He clearly packs it in routinely when he doesn’t feel like playing any more, and doesn’t come out of the game. its been hard to cheer for him, plenty of respect for his talents and achievements though (when he feels like trying)
  25. I’m grateful that a top conference title game won’t be an obvious joke at this point in the season i knew deep down it had to happen one of these yearzzzz Seems the majority of top CCGs are an undefeated team beating the living bag out of a 4-loss joke from the other division
