I get it, but don’t at the same time. He just doubled off the wall earlier this game. Give him a chance to drive one.

Why is our best hitter bunting while being one run down?

That last curve was nasty.

Yeah, currently have the game streaming on my phone at my desk. None of them look comfortable at the plate. I remember Conforto had his best success at the lead off spot last year before his injury. I would like to see him and Nimmo 1 & 2 in the order. The only positive I can take from the Mets right now is that their starting pitching is more than solid from 1-4 excluding Vargas.

I agree, the highest paid player is usually the one everyone looks up to when it comes to baseball and the clubhouse. But this guy is no leader in the clubhouse or on the field. I'm over him. I wasn't 100% on re-signing him either. I understand why it was done as anyone can see how pathetic this team is without him, but that being said, they needed to sign better compliments for him. All they did was re-sign Bruce (yuck), 36 year old Agon, and used the option for Asdrubal. All the while Hosmer, Moustakas, and Cain were all out there. They could literally have Hosmer and Moustakas for the same amount of money Cespedes is making. I haven't been this low in a long time as a Mets fan, but its getting to the point I might just stop watching for a bit.

It hasn't been this bad since like 2003-04. I'm really hoping the hitting coach or someone is fired. This cannot continue without any accountability. This was being preached all off season and yet they still continue to do the same thing over and over. I work in the mental health field and can clearly state someone is not taking their medications. We just lost to a team 24 games under .500

I went to the Thor Bobblehead(First 15,000) game last year against the A's, we got there 3 hours before game time and got it with ease. But waiting in line for the gates to open is an absolute **** show. https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/mlb/columnist/bob-nightengale/2018/06/05/mets-trades-degrom-syndergaard-sandy-alderson/673229002/

If you view Team Salary Payroll and sort by Total Payroll, the Mets are 11th out of 30 MLB teams at $157.4MBut, if you sort by 25 Man Roster payroll they are 25th in MLB with $60.4M, barely ahead of the Padres and the MarlinsBasically they're a July trade of Asdrubal Cabrera away from having the lowest active roster payroll in the NL, unless David Wright makes it back into major league action this year

Yup, he would. I went back a few days ago to look at his record as the Mets manager. His record was really good, and it feels like 100 years ago.

Yeah, I’m pretty much there myself saying we need to rebuild. Keep Thor, DeGrom, conforto, and Nimmo. The rest of the misfits can be shipped off. It worked wonders for the Phillies, Braves and Astros. Too bad we can follow our cross town neighbors model. By building up the farm system and continue to sign/trade for big names to win now and for the future.

That was ridiculous, but not unexpected seeing as a lot of fans are already packing it in and selling their seats. Ill be be there next Sunday for Sunday Night baseball against the Yankees and have a feeling it will be 50/50 if not more Yankees fans than Mets fans. Which is really depressing.
-
I hope so. It has not been easy. To be honest growing up on Long Island during the the mid 90s was brutal being one of a handful of Mets fans in a sea of Yankees fans.

My step-father has told me that several times during this young season. I wasn’t born yet during the Seaver era and not to date myself but was only 1 during the 86 WS team, but I knew he was great due to being told stories about his greatness and how my step-dad could name almost every player in the trade that sent him over to the Phillies.

Just saying, he was screwed out of pitcher of the month due to the lack of “wins” but had a .69 era and scherzer had a 2.21 and won it. I feel at times we don’t deserve someone of this caliber with how putrid this offense has been.
-
Is it a stretch to say DeGrom is the best pitcher currently in baseball? Batters are 0-31 against him with RISP.

By far the best in the business right now. Keith is my favorite because you know he wants to rip into the franchise even more so but he won’t. He did a interview recently saying how they tell him to not be bias towards the team and be honest more than he is currently.

I actually liked that they used familia in the set up role. I think that is where he is at his best. That’s what he did before Mejia was banned for life, and nearly won the ROY due to how good he was. I wanted them to re-sign Reed as the closer and have familia be the set up guy. Familia doesn’t have the pin point control or good enough control to be a closer IMO. I’m the cubs have a let down the next few games. They had a super intense and emotional series with the Bucs. If they win this series it could be really helpful to their confidence. Hopefully Yo and Frazier come back within the next week or so even with the offense not being the issue this past series.

Simply amazing play. This club needed that. He is showing why he was the number 1 overall prospect in MLB with his bat, speed, and glove. I knew their was a reason I got his jersey last season when he was called up besides the fact Fanatics.com screwed up and put up his jersey for $28.80 instead of $288.00

Great, even our Stadium is on the DL.

Not sure if any of you were listening, but gary cohen said what they pulled off in milwaukee on sat and sunday, trailing by 3, blowing it, leading by 2, blowing it again, hasn't been done in MLB in 88 years. ? I’m venting here but how can anyone involved with the Mets brass be pleased with this? Like another poster said I’m almost done and it’s not even June.
