  1. Oh I remember all the talk Mickey was spewing from his mouth in ST. I took it hook, line, and sinker. “This is the best group of arms and stuff I’ve ever seen, from top to bottom,” Callaway said Tuesday at First Data Field. “I’ve never seen anything like the amount of very good arms with quality stuff that we have here in this Mets organization. I promise you, nobody has that. And I’ve been around some pretty good arms…. It’s really amazing.” - Mickey !@#$ing Callaway https://ftw.usatoday.com/2018/02/mickey-callaway-new-york-mets-starting-pitching-health-injuries-innings-bullpen-mlb
  2. LOL, he did the point after contact. You can’t make this **** up. I’m glad our pain is being spread through the MLB.
  3. I still to this day wish Piazza charged the mound against Clemens after throwing the broken bat back in his direction, I can remember my step dad screaming "Go get that $%&* sucker!" Not saying piazza would have handed his ass to him or anything but it would've been nice to see the little brother punching back at the big brother, clash of the titans.
  4. As horrible as it might sound. I'm all for fighting in baseball especially after letting up 7 dingers. The only pitcher I know that pitches inside is Matz. The pitchers are supposed to own the plate not the other way around and for the past 2 years the dodgers have been asking for it. I'm sort of a younger fan but I still recall the Mets getting to scrums in the 90s and the announcers usually called it before hand stating the team was in a slump and need something to ignite the troops. I'm old school that way. I don't like throwing at the head at all, but Syndengaard will forever be a favorite of mine after his, “If they have a problem with me throwing inside,” Syndergaard said, “then they can meet me 60-feet, six-inches away. I’ve got no problem with that.”comment.
  5. I think we can all agree this pretty much sums up our season so far. I'm not at a Hulk rage level anymore but this hurts lol. Ah man, like Gug said, going to a game is always fun even if the team is wet dog poo. I went to the Sunday Night game against the Yankees, it took me a week for my voice to recover. The mets are 1-0 when I'm there this year
  6. Those are my two picks as they will be traded to a team that is leading their division or close to it. I don't think Familia will be the "guy" when traded to his new team but he does offer the experience of being a closer and set up man. Assdribble offers the versatility of being able to play 3 infield positions and has some power and can bat effectively from each side of the plate. For those two players we already have their replacements on the team or in the organization : Gsellman or even Lugo will replace Familia even though Gsellman did give up that bomb to Kemp this weekend along with every pitcher in the bullpen. I think McNeil will come in to replace Assdribble as he also can play multiple positions, mainly 2b/3b. 7. “Danny Abriano, SNY.tv | Twitter | If you have been holding your breath waiting for the Mets to call up 23-year-old first baseman Peter Alonso, you should probably stop. The Mets have no plans to bring Alonso to the majors this season "no matter what," Mets radio announcer Howie Rose said on Sunday night, citing a "pretty strong source" within the organization. “
  8. https://www.google.com/amp/s/nypost.com/2018/06/24/sandy-alderson-is-destroying-the-mets-and-must-be-stopped/amp/ “Sandy Alderson is destroying the Mets and must be stopped” “Look, you can gripe about how cheap the Mets’ ownership is, and that’s 100 percent fair. But you can win with a $150 million payroll. Alderson has been the man building this product, top to bottom, for eight years and with one notable two-month exception in 2015 — highlighted, remember, by an acquisition of Yoenis Cespedes that only happened when deals for Carlos Gomez, Justin Upton and Jay Bruce couldn’t be consummated — it has been a fiasco of failure, and what will almost surely be six losing seasons.”
  9. Yup, makes no sense. He throws the man into left field without playing it all at this level but he can’t bunt... that’s a contradication. My head hurts.
  10. I even think last year they had d’arnaud starting at 3rd but would shift him everytime a right hand batter was up.
  11. You remember Duda in the OF ?.
  12. This kid is tearing it up... He alone produced the same amount of runs the Mets did on Saturday ?
  13. This game was frustrating. The futility the Mets continue to show with runners in scoring position and less than 2 outs is amazing. This team has to have one of the lowest baseball IQs collective I’ve seen in a long time. The situational hitting is an actual joke. They can’t even manage a fly ball...
  14. It’d be nice to have prospect come up after a year or so in the minors. The Nats just brought up Soto last month and he’s only 19, but crushing it.
  15. Yup, they literally make me go from sane to borderline insane during their games. Who would have thought that the bills would have more promise after 2015 than the current Mets.
  16. He hasn't been the same since. Thank god we beat them last year.
  17. He's all of the Rockies offense today. Maybe, they should pitch around him. Arenado has a homerun in three straight games ?
  18. This just in: Plawecki grounded into a DP after a lead off walk.
  19. And Dom gets the bench today after going 3-5 yesterday with 2 extra base hits and 2 runs scored, I understand its a LHP, but they could have Flores at 2nd and Dom at 1st. Reyes has been solid since May 22nd as he has posted an OPS. of .711 and an OBP of .378, still give the young guys as much plate appearances as possible right now.
  20. Yeah, I mean I wasn't thrilled Cespedes opted out of his deal and we decided to sign him again to more money. My step brother used to work in the accounting department of a sport agency in time square. He knew agents and would hang out with them and meet a bunch of Mets, Yankees, Knicks players and etc. He told me there is a firm belief that Cespedes is a lot older than he is portraying himself out to be. Hence why the issues he is having with his legs, first thing to go is your legs. - Dom in LF is beyond dumb. He was toted to being a guy that would multiple gold gloves at First. Since his little maneuver in Arizona they have exiled him to LF? In the toughest ballpark to play the OF in. - I have to agree some of the moves last night were beyond dumb. Fans like us could have made better moves just using logic. If I watch Kevin Plawecki hit into another DP or weak fly ball I'm going to lose it, Lol. When asked about it after the game Mickey stated he didn't use Rosario until the 9th because he wanted to save him for a "possible" defensive replacement. Rosario singled against their closer in the 9th where Plawecki hitting .190 (not even his weight) swung at ball 4 with the bases loaded and into a DP with 1 out and us being down by 1.
  21. True, and if the super soaker is filled with hydrofluoric acid it could be lethal.
  22. Joe B. during his podcast last week discussed how Proehl was building a rapport with Allen at the end of mini-camp and finished with that long touchdown. So, that would give him the inside edge if he is building some chemistry with Allen, and continues to do so throughout training camp and the preseason. I agree though, I don't see him making it.
