    Thanks for those stats/comparisons.

I think the fact that no one will win 20 games REALLY helps Jake's cause.  If Scherzer led the league in strikeouts and got 20 wins, it would be difficult for him to lose.  But that point is moot.

    I think it's a 2-man race, at this point (Jake/Scherzer).

I think Scherzer's ERA being so far above 2 helps a lot.  But if Jake throws a stinker and gets to 2 or higher, I'd have to think Scherzer would win.

Jake's last start is very important.  I think if he gets the win AND keep the ERA below 1.80 ... he's a lock.

All valid points I’ll add one more useless one, but might help swing votes to Jake. None of the top 3 are making the playoffs. Sometimes that team stay sways the voters to vote for the individual on a “contending team”. Jake’s performance last night has been status quo for much of the entire season, and it was ridiculously good.

Darn right we have a lot of hope for the future....Do you have the scoop on Alonso...is he going to play for Scottsdale next month?

yup, he’s going down there. There is a lot of talk about some of the Mets FO believe he’s a true DH instead of 1b. It’s weird they’re now putting an emphasis on fielding in which they did not do in the past.

  3. There is some hope for the future. We have a very good young core: Conforto, Nimmo, Rosario, and McNeil.

Our farm system will be placed in the top 10 soon as cited in this statement here.

  4. “Last season, Bills head coach Sean McDermott decided that his 5-4 team needed to shake things up. The Bills were in playoff contention, and although the team had one of the worst defensive units in the league and was ranked 23rd in net total yards at the time, McDermott chose to bench then starting quarterback Tyrod Taylor for their late fifth-round pick Nathan Peterman.

Back then, I wrote about how the whole thing was about race, because it was, since McDermott benched the capable black quarterback for the terrible young white one”

Most of us know the real reason why that was done. Even some of our fellow members have enlightened us that Dennison was the main reason behind Tyrod’s benching. But, this is just a horrible take.

  5. He could have pulled himself from the game, but remained with the team. I know it's sports, and not that serious in the grand scheme of things, and they all claim they're brothers, and in it til the bitter end. What he did possibly one of the biggest B word moves I've ever seen. He literally pulled the equivalent of Robert Duran in a football game. He's going to be remembered as the guy that retired, and left his team at half time instead of someone during his prime was a top flight corner in the league, what a shame.

I just hope he called his grandmother on his way out.

Not exactly. Pegulas were working on an extension. He had only a few days left to exercise his out clause ( built into his contract due to Ralph’s age probably). Marrone rubbed a lot of people the wrong way, but he’s a good coach. He knew Brandon / Whaley wielded a lot of power in the organization and was concerned about which side would win that struggle. His agent told him he was the top candidate for the Jets job, and the out clause gave Marrone a rare opportunity to collect a HC paycheck from two franchises in the same year. (Double dipping in any other circumstance is generally against the rules, with the previous team only on the hook for the difference in salary. ) So he took it. By all accounts the Pegulas approved of the job Marrone did as HC of the Bills.

Okay, that makes sense. I literally read one article over a year or so ago that was stating what I regurgitated on here, thanks for the clarification.

I just watched ESPN's coverage of Vontae Davis walking out on the team.  Max Kellerman just took a big giant steamer on the Bills and Bills fans.  He is laughing at the situation.  He needs to get socked in the jaw.  The Bills fans are the most loyal in sports.  He's a pompous jerk.

Just Ignore the national media. They’re a bunch of clowns, and their “takes” are the equivalent of a 5 year old that says a curse word to get a reaction.

Plus, did you know he was a rapper at one time?
