  1. I think the press believes if they spin up enough smoke and B.S. it might just catch fire. Not that I particularly care for Whaley. I don't see it happening.
  2. oh, hell... can we push this to 100 pages?
  3. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2017/04/15/report-bills-might-not-pick-up-sammy-watkins-fifth-year-option/ "But according to Sal Capaccio of WGR 550, the Bills might not pick up Watkins’ option after all: The team is still deciding and may take a couple weeks before making a final decision." First, I'm wondering is Sal has any real insight, or is this just conjecture on his part? I love how when someone in the press blurts out an opinion, it somehow becomes "news". I mean, of course they might not pick up Watkins' option, but then again they might -and probably will. If that's the case, then why print this article? (i know... so I'll click on it.) Second, does anyone know exactly when the Bills need to make that decision? What's the deadline to pick up that option? thx. nevermind... second link. "Team has until May 2 to make a decision for 2018"
  4. You're missing a very important nuance in the statement... It's "maybe you lean in that direction". Nothing about that statements says anything about anyone overruling anyone. It speaks to a tendency where one might persuade the others in the room to see his vision and come to a collective agreement. It's not a decision hierarchy.
  5. Didn't sound like to me that he "couldn't", sounded more like he didn't want to, and I don't blame him. He owes the press nothing on how he runs his organization; who has power over what. There's nothing wrong with a consensus approach. I've heard Pat Kirwan of Sirius XM Radio Movin the Chains tell his story several times of when Bill Cowher and Donahoe or even Colbert later were ever in disagreement on football matters, Rooney would tell them both point blank, "lock yourselves in a room and don't come out until you have a unified decision decision for me" Seemed to have worked well then...
  6. Guess he's forgotten everything he tells rookies at the symposium (do they still even have that?). If true, I feel sorry for the victim. It's truly a monstrous, cowardly and sickening act. Being in such a fortunate position, a dream job on network TV, forgiven for all his transgressions of the past, to place himself this very situation is inconceivable to me. Given so many examples of recent celebrities and even his peers, he still has the selfishness and feeling of invincibility that he thinks "it can't happen to me" is just mind blowing. How do you allow that to happen to yourself?
  7. I'd could be happy if it shook out something like this... Could do these all day Used CBS board: 10: R1P10 CB MARSHON LATTIMORE OHIO STATE 44: R2P12 EDGE TACO CHARLTON MICHIGAN 75: R3P11 WR ZAY JONES EAST CAROLINA 156: R5P12 S JOHN JOHNSON BOSTON COLLEGE 171: R5P27 WR JOSH REYNOLDS TEXAS A&M 195: R6P11 S JADAR JOHNSON CLEMSON
  8. Little bit of both methinks. In coachspeak, he's already on the roster because they haven't drafted his replacement yet. Just because there's currently a "No. 2" doesn't mean he stays that way.
  9. Oh, but it easier to poo poo and jump up and down a scream "win more games" and ""we need a QB" and "17 years!"
  10. People do things, sometimes very expensive things, in the pursuit of happiness, charity, good will, love and passion. If you're already rich, then you can afford to make those things priorities over money.
  11. It's allot easier to recognize mistakes than to consistently have the right answers. Maybe there were posters who knew all that stuff going in, but it doesn't mean the alternatives they would have come up with would have been any better.
  12. THat's all i'm trying to say... I would imagine it might have been a point of discussion in the previous regime(s) as well. I heard a great coach once say... you don't play your 5 best, you play your best 5.
  13. If that was found to be the case, I would think the coaches would have made that assessment and made the change. If it worked out that way, I'd support it. I'll submit that any "idea" that we can come up with, I'm sure the coaching staff has already considered and tested.
  14. I'd say there are parallels to their play style, but to me Taylor is more of a passing QB than these other two. While Kaep and Griffin struggle to get past the first read, start watching the pressure and quickly bail and run. I find that Taylor scrambles and continues to look for targets down field and is an opportunistic runner. While he might still struggle reading the whole field from the pocket, he's still trying to throw the ball. Some people like to rail on "4 years a back-up and 2 years starting! He is what he is!" I disagree. I think pocket awareness and reading the field can get better with live action experience and Taylor strikes me as a guy who recognizes his weaknesses and will work hard to improve in those areas. Most QBs in the league can do it in practice, a live game is entirely different and some players acclimate slower than others. We don't know who he is yet, but I hope he gets there soon.
  15. No thanks to a heartless mope. As a back-up, he's only going to more of that and no competitive threat to drive Taylor. Cutler's the kind of guy right now who will be content to hold a clipboard for a few more years after banking some easy pay checks. I want my back-up QB to at least make the No1 look over his shoulder a li'l bit.
  16. Maybe they've already evaluated that option and decided that the combination go CK at LT and Glenn at RT is not better, or maybe even a weaker combination overall than Glenn and Mills staying where they are and continue to create more competition and upgrade a RT. Y'know these are professional NFL coaches who have coached in many places over many years. I'm pretty sure whatever notion "we" fanbase could come up with, they've already postulated and "experimented" with. Just because it didn't materialize in an actual game, doesn't mean it hasn't been considered.
  17. Perfect place for him really... all he needs to do is spout his "wisdom", doesn't need to be right, and doesn't need to be accountable for anything. Just be entertaining. He'll "win the pregame"
  18. McCoy is way more valuable to this offense than Sherman is to that defense. So... No!
  19. I don;t mean to LOL, but I couldn't help it. People actually bought those shares (besides his mom and dad)??
  20. Solid move, shows forward thinking. Wood is in his last year of the contract. Could maybe extend him for another year maybe 2, and create some cap to cover up for the Groy hit. This could also conceivably be Incognito last season. Cogs is under contract through 2018, but I doubt he sees that $6M salary with a $1.5M dead cap hit at the age of 34. Have Groy be back-up this season, rotate him in at both LG and C to keep his skills up, then slot him in a LG for 2018, then slide him over to C when Wood moves on. Easier to find a LG than a quality C.
  21. So then what's the point of posting?. Definitely seen all this before!
  22. While TJ Watt and Von Miller had comparable numbers in their final college seasons: - TJ Watt = 63 Tackles, 15.5 TFL and 11.5 Sacks - Miller = 68 Tackles, 17.5 TFL and 10.5 Sacks An important distinction is that Von Miller was at least a 2-year (maybe 3) starter and star player at A&M in his Jr. season with production that blew Watt's numbers away (21.5 TFL and 17 Sacks) More proof of production would have been nice... That said, I would totally support a TJ Watt selection. Maybe not at 10, but if we traded back I think he should be considered a first round talent.
  23. He hasn't been bad enough to warrant being fired, but "exceeding expectations" ?!.. that's a bit of a stretch. I evaluate my employees multiple times a year and most everyone gets a "meets expectations" rating. There are those who feel like they deserve higher. I'm like... you do your job, and are pretty good at it, but if you want to see a higher rating, then you're going to need to do something extraordinary. I haven't seen extraordinary from Whaley.
  24. Yeah, I hope to see Washington get more play time next season, I think he's going to really thrive in this new D. Lets not forget this is likely Kyle William's last season; it's the last of his contract anyway. Maybe the bills tack on another year if he's still has it in him. I'm gonna chalk that up to hitting the rookie wall. Lets hope it doesn't continue.
