Potential decision made for Championship Game location
Boatdrinks replied to Ra-cha-cha's topic in The Stadium Wall
Sooner than later. Perhaps the next few days .. they won’t leave this unresolved for long now that the Chiefs have won. The KC win greatly increased the chances for a neutral site AFCC game. -

Indy turned it down. They have some other event in town that weekend I won’t worry about the location at all: the Bills will be there and so will I. Just pointing out that location won’t favor KC so I’d be surprised if it was chosen. I would hate this. Not an inexpensive flight from BUF or a convenient one. ATL would be much better than that. -

Wow, I’d be shocked if true. Too close to Buffalo, too far from KC. It will be tons of Bills fans depending on how tickets are distributed -
NFL Week #18 - Around the NFL Saturday edition
Boatdrinks replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yes there were lots of Bills fans there. The Jags fans were just the trashiest humans after the game though, even the ladies. Just MF’ing the Bills fans and flipping us the bird totally unprovoked. Gutter level sewer- mouthed scum. -
The NFL created a problem with their stupid expansion of the playoffs : only one team earns a bye and that is just too big an advantage to be fair. Two byes was a just reward to the top teams. A neutral site championship game could remedy that. If it’s being considered they know it’s a problem. Also , one of the leagues best young QBs is in Buffalo. The NFL is probably concerned about an AFC title game in Buffalo with 35 mph winds and no passing offense.

NFL Week #18 - Around the NFL Saturday edition

Yeah, I’d agree. Went to the Bills game there last year and it was pretty much a pit. The fans were awful and the stadium is a total dump. -

Loved it! Best one I’ve heard at an NFL game all season actually and it’s not even close. -
NFL Resolution to Adjust the AFC Playoffs- Poll
Boatdrinks replied to Rocky Landing's topic in The Stadium Wall
They want to build in a mini- bye for themselves this week by resting starters. The NFL is trying to discourage this and added the coin flip language in there. It’s also to compensate the Ravens for not having a chance at the division. If the Bengals win it won’t be used. -

Too cold… I’d say a balance of both. I like the reports that they’re considering open air stadiums. Carolina should be considered, Atlanta ( dome) would be fine. Nashville as well. I don’t mind Indy being out of the running, that was probably my least favorite of the options. -
Sean McDermott should be Coach of the Year
Boatdrinks replied to Coach Tuesday's topic in The Stadium Wall
Not to mention a pretty easy schedule that was pointed out on this board by Eagles fans as a sure ticket to an undefeated season. There are far more deserving candidates than Sirianni. -
More likely, yes but I’m not sure how much more. If it was BUFvs KC I’d give the home team maybe a 5% edge or so. Close to a pick em. The QBs are just that good. Either is quite capable of walking out of the opposing stadium with a win. I’d feel more confident about a win vs the Chiefs in Orchard Park vs Arrowhead but I can’t say I’d be a LOT more confident. Good read on the situation and I’d have to agree this seems likely.

Playoff Solutions Assuming they don’t replay the Bengals game.

Less likely , but still possible. I’d love to see it. -

Coaching a SuperBowl favorite will likely take him out of consideration. I would vote for Bryan Daboll- that turnaround has been pretty incredible with not a ton of talent. -

Home field is huge in the playoffs- yes a home 2nd round game is worth playing for. I was merely pointing out that the statement about the Bills having to go to KC was incorrect- they could be knocked out of it -

Disagree, KC could get knocked out by another team. Could still host AFC title game. 2 definitely better than 3. Bills can defeat Pats even if they’re not on their A game - no guarantee you can win any single game but home better than road. -

No. The 2 seed is relevant as the Bills would be guaranteed 2 home playoff games and the potential of hosting AFCC remains a realistic possibility. -

Bengals players reportedly did not want to continue playing game either. The league CAN do whatever they decide in this scenario and Troy Vincent already stated that the solution won’t be perfect and there might not be equity. -
Well the proposal floated ( or at least being considered by the NFL) involved resuming the game. So If KC wins Saturday - Bills can play to win both games vs NE, CIN with a chance to be # 1 or fall to 3 with no rest. OR rest starters both games and go in as #3 if KC loses - can play to win Vs NE and secure #2 overall seed with a chance at #1 week 19 So if I’m correct here I think I’d opt for the guaranteed rest and go in as 3 IF the Chiefs win vs LAR on Saturday
-
What ? The week 19 vs CIN is not a lose and season over game. The Bills are in the playoffs and week 19 is AFC playoff bye. Bills vs Bengals is for seeding.
-
Playing this week then next Vs CIN could leave us in an injury riddled situation heading into a certain playoff game the next week. Resting vs NE and CIN gives the Bills essentially a bye and a guaranteed home game plus possibly 2 road playoff games. There are 3 potential outcomes. One is very bad - 3 seed with no rest of any kind. Which would you choose? I’d take the guaranteed down time.
-
Or a shot at limping into the playoffs. If that’s the NFLs solution I’m taking the next two weeks off if I’m the Bills. At least they’ll know if the Chiefs lost on Saturday. If KC wins I’d rest up as the 3
