Only one I can think of was BAL and they weren’t lighting the world on fire. Frazier also had success vs Jackson in regular season games so it just carried over. Patriots offense was not a top unit either. Overall his defenses have been less than impressive in playoff games. The Bills playoff wins were largely due to Josh Allen.

He is , but he’s also a hit away from retirement. Don’t recall a C getting that many concussions- maybe he’s just susceptible to them. Anyway, RT has been a problem for a few seasons now and needs a solid upgrade but probably time to draft a new C. Can’t argue with that. BAL and SF use a FB but you can also see why. Can’t see much in the BUF offense that justifies a FB.

Probably right. Edmunds is pretty young too. He had a better year than Oliver. Age working against Poyer returning, but he was a great player for us.

Those numbers don’t lie.

Not talking about the contract - the draft picks. Would have presumably cost Bills more because they had a better record at the time so they’d assume the Bills pick would be later.

When will we adjust to playoff football

Nick Wright, so NOT true -
The cost would have been / was exorbitant- the Bills also don’t have a Shanahan level run game guru as the OC. Great player, but not sure his results here would have been worth the considerable bevy of picks.

Bills should have the best DL in the league given all the investment.

I think the lack of dependable targets underneath steered Josh elsewhere. You can only have guys drop it so many times.

Might have. It was a great tandem while it lasted. Hyde might have a good season or two left.

4 wins at most to win Super Bowl championship. 15 to win Stanley Cup I believe ? In the hierarchy of professional sports championships: 1 Super Bowl 2 World Series 3 NBA championship 4 Stanley Cup

There are none, haven’t you perused the board? Josh has regressed, Beane has mismanaged for years and the Bills will be fortunate to win 5 or 6 games next season. They’ll be chasing the Chiefs and Bengals for years to come , possibly forever. Hope they’ve got nets up around all bridges in WNY.

Perfect ; it’ll be another first for Allen! Exactly. No reason to be stressed , it’s already over ! -
Pretty good retrospective. Nothing foolish about the early confidence ; many observers thought the Bills were the team to beat because they were. Then they were tested by injuries not seen in the McDermott era. The rookie coordinator was studied and dissected by the rest of the league. After the bye week, he proved he wasn’t yet up to the task. He never adapted ; the slot WR was out ,the QB injured his elbow and the middle of the field disappeared. Defensively , injuries piled up and Frazier was unable to adapt and find a way. While it was a tall order, his lack of flexibility was apparent. Some changes are in order for this staff. The WRs and OL aren’t good enough. Josh Allen can’t be asked to do everything all the time.

Time for a new DC. Frazier’s contract is up , no ? Easy out for Sean. -
Ok

Don’t know what anyone expects they’ll hear in these pressers. Beane isn’t going to broadcast his intentions going forward. It’ll be “while we did some good things , we fell short of our ultimate goal. We don’t expect any huge signings due to cap considerations…” These aren’t the Russ Brandon / Whaley days.. we’ll know about any moves after they happen only.

Was Micah Hyde's injury the key to the Bills' season?
Boatdrinks replied to Giuseppe Tognarelli's topic in The Stadium Wall
Easy : GM speak. Humility is in order when you’ve lost , unless you want to come off as a blowhard. However, you have to read between the lines in these media type situations. He saw what happened, but I guarantee he doesn’t think he needs a whole new defensive line. An across the board terrible performance doesn’t mean everyone gets replaced. It doesn’t mean the Bengals are 17 points better than you. -

They need to make some changes to the staff , mostly to the defensive side imo. They’ve been mostly disappointing on defense in the playoffs thus far. -

Of course he’d have to say that because they lost the game. What’s he going to say ; they’re ahead of Cincinnati? Do I believe they’re vastly different in talent ? No. I doubt Beane thinks he needs 4 1st round picks to beat the Bengals either. Thanks for letting me know I’m entitled to my own opinion. -

There were many factors, but with a different offensive approach and overall effort I absolutely would expect a different outcome. Not much you can do about the conditions but you should devise a game plan that reflects them. The Bengals did that. Played in the same conditions with the identical game plans used Sunday I would expect similar results 8 times out of 10. Kind of like that old saying about insanity. -

Not talking about “ coaching talent”, no. If you want to extrapolate that from the common sports nomenclature of being “ outcoached” feel free. I mean that the Bengals coaches got us that day, and I can’t take that away from them. I don’t think our staff put forth their best work. I don’t follow the Bengals closely, but I know they had one more loss than the Bills did at seasons end. I’ve seen better work by the Bills staff than I saw on Sunday. It was probably the worst game plan I’ve seen this season and possibly in quite some time. As for players , I do not consider the Bengals to be vastly different in terms of talent than the Bills.
