I think it’s a lot of hair splitting. I had no doubt that Josh Allen was going to bring the team back to victory right up to the no call on LA for false start. The entire ending changed at that point imo, from a likely Bills win to an almost certain loss.
While some of these are fair points , we shouldn’t forget it took a whole lot of superior plays by Rams WRs and a punt block for a TD to get the Bills into the loss column today.
It might. They have games like this a few times a year. This is not a dominating defense. It’s a good defense that plays better with a lead. The offense didn’t get going for awhile , and that tends to be when the Bills have this type of game.
Defense stunk , but Josh was very good. The officiating changed the ending . That was a false start all day long , and Bills had the momentum. That’s a bad way to lose the chance at the 1 seed for sure.
Lol , true. It suggests ( to me anyway) that there must be an alternative opinion of somehow not going “ all out” but I just don’t see an NFL team doing that.
In that case I’d say it goes back to the old NFL adage- you can play hurt but you can’t play injured. While that 1 ( or even 2 for that matter ) seed is in play you try to get it. Everyone is some degree of hurt when you get to December football.
While not an assassination, your statement in paragraph 2 is just stupid. No one is murdered by an insurance company or its algorithm. Just an idiotic concept.
The op states that half his office says to make a push for the 1 seed regardless of the outcome. That implies an alternative opinion- likely resting players. In the actual football world there is no resting players while the 1 seed is in play so it’s not much of a debate.
That would be a very satisfying result. Still I’d have to say my ideal scenario is the Bills hosting the AFC championship game.
Well, you really don’t get to choose. You hope your roster is fully healthy but there’s not much you can do. As pointed out by others, no one is resting starters with 5 games to go. As long as the #1 seed is in play, no one sits.
To this point that’s pretty much been due to bad luck. Sometimes it’s just how it plays out when there is another great QB in the conference. You may get the good fortune of another team knocking off the arch nemesis, but even Peyton Manning had to do it himself to get his two SB rings. Edit : pretty sure Manning had the luxury of a home AFCC game both times he got a SB win.!
