At least the #2 seed in the AFC in the bag now?
Boatdrinks replied to Another Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall
Well, the Chiefs have only lost 1 game. The issue is more the Chiefs and their excellence than the Bills and a nonsense game. It sucks that they’re in the AFC but that’s the reality. If the Chiefs were in the NFC, my guess is we would have seen several Allen vs Mahomes Super Bowls by now. -
Last two games prove Allen deserved a dome

The design of the current stadium creates extreme winds. The new stadium design is supposed reduce the wind drastically. We’ll see. -

1 seed would be nice, but I think realistic chances ended with the loss to LAR. Looks like the Bills will probably be the 2 seed again. -
Not going to get my hopes up, but could have an impact.

Most would (probably ) prefer a dome but what has there been , one weather game this year ? Two home games left, so it’s not really half his games. -
Around the NFL Week 15 (no Bills talk in this thread please)

12/15/24 Week 15 Bills @ Lions Game Post Game Thread

Don’t sell the players short ; they made plenty of mistakes. Poor tackling, bad angles and allowing Lions WRs to get out of bounds. More players than scheme imo. Great win, yes. The Offense and Allen will determine the Bills Super Bowl fate. The defense is not a great unit. Yes it was ; only one game between them and Vikings. Lion’s definitely wanted this one . -

Probably not as bad as the taste Lions fans have - knowing that their defense did give up the game. -
I definitely wanted the D to hold them to somewhere in the 20’s. I thought it was possible deep into the 3rd quarter. It was a great win , but everything is not hunky dory . There is work to be done because it gets tougher in the playoffs. I’d like to not have to rely on Allen heroics all the time. They have 3 weeks to figure stuff out as best they can. I thought they bounced back in a big way for about 3 quarters though

Honestly , what if the majority of this board was up in arms about the game and said it was completely unacceptable? Would it make a damn bit of difference ? Nope. We can bark at the moon all night, but I’d rather just savor the incredible Allen performance and the win. They’ve beaten the best two teams in the NFL by record.

They’re not an elite defensive unit. They probably won’t turn into one this year. It is what it is. The Bills can absolutely win a Super Bowl though. I’ll take a win even when it doesn’t look the way I’d like.

Detroit is the highest scoring team in the NFL fwiw .. certainly would have liked to see the Bills hold them in the 20’s. I’m not going to complain too much. The Bills rely on the elite play of Josh Allen to win games- and will do so in the playoffs. Who knew ?

12/15/24 Week 15 Bills @ Lions Game day Thread
Boatdrinks replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall
While the sack totals may not be great, Rousseau has had big impacts in many if not most of the Bills games this season. Last week’s no show was out of character for him. Oliver, on the other hand isn’t having a very good year. -
Would you sign up right now for a Buffalo at Kansas City AFCCG?
Boatdrinks replied to njbuff's topic in The Stadium Wall
Absolutely. I don’t care one bit about beating KC in their own house- as if it’s somehow more satisfying or some mark of sports purity. That doesn’t mean a thing, and I’d much rather have the game in Buffalo- especially with the astronomical price of secondary market SB tickets. Ask any Bills fan however, if they’d take an AFCC game appearance and they’d tell you yes in less than a heartbeat. I thought they had reached the 30 point mark once going into their game in OP. Strange. -
Defense is built to stop average and below offenses.

Almost forgot about that , but it made the defensive performance even more infuriating at the time. -

Nowhere near the pass rush ability of those teams right now. Regardless of scheme. McD and Co have to be willing to throw some different wrinkles at the better QBs / OC’s they will see in the playoffs rather than giving just what they expected. -

Honestly, in this case it’s a dumb question. -

I liked Marv- but he was far more of a delegator than a specialist. That was less effective as he lost top coordinators. The SB Bills greatest issue was DL based as well- they lacked a great run stuffing NT. This was hugely critical in the NFL game at that time. Perhaps if they had landed Ted Washington in the ‘91 draft like they wanted things may have been different. Polian should have moved up to get him. Anyway, I’m not sure that the Bills need a new HC with Allen at QB- but the defense needs to be better in the playoffs. We’ll see if they can go in with a pretty healthy group and close the deal this time. -

I’m a gen Xer and lived ( plus died a little bit) through all 4 Super Bowl runs and losses. I agree younger Bills fans than me- or other Gen Xers -might see it differently. -

I can’t disagree with this premise. I hope it’s unnecessary because the Bills won the Super Bowl, but if not it’s the number 1 issue going forward. Now, that only matters if T-Pegs sees it the same way. We as fans can’t do anything about it. The career of the greatest QB - and maybe greatest player to ever don a Bills uniform cannot be wasted. -

If good enough means reaching the Super Bowl twice with Josh Allen starting at QB in the big game I’ll take it.
