  1. They're ripping the band aid off quickly rather than slowly. I liked what I saw from Allen; no deer in the headlights look. Foster and Jones made plays. Edmunds had a tough day but a learning experience. No one will throw at White. Milano looked pretty good. So they have young pieces to build around. That said, McD and Beane have challenges. Short term, McD has to figure out why his team comes out so far behind the 8 ball. Is it his coordinators? Especially Frazier? What about Castillo? Does he need to change anyone? Do they need to bring in another backup QB to help Allen? They need to scour other rosters to get some more DBs. And linemen perhaps? How long do you go with guys on the interior of the O line that are struggling like they're struggling? Long term they have a plan. I'm OK with the plan. They have their QB, MLB, star CB, safeites, LT. But the success of their plan will depend on just how good they are at picking the right guys in the draft and FA. Draft they look pretty good so far, FA not as much. But they were limited by cap space to go after top FAs. Like any organization they'll rise and fall by these decisions.
  2. The folks crowing about them getting fired are like the annoying little gnats that fly around you outside. Annoying but ultimately of little consequence. McD has a tough road ahead, has some big decisions to make. If he feels he has to call the D why have Frazier? Does he need to change his O line coach? But losingvthe locker room? No way. Not the way they played in the decongestants half after they found out about Davis. The Davis thing reinforces McDs belief you need guys that have football as a priority. It's why you don't waste time with Gordon. And why I'd be looking really close at Benjamin right now.
  3. Too early to tell. Both pretty good. My take with Marrone is he wanted total control, and his power play didn't work. So he took the out clause, and then found out he wasn't as popular in the marketplace as he thought. So with Jacksonville he swallowed his pride knowing Coughlin calls the shots, and focused on coaching he's doing pretty good. McD did a good job last year. This year he'll be challengedz
  4. Things they could do right now: 1. McD call the D 2. Start Bodine and move Groy to RG, or start Ike and Wyatt at the Gs. Do it now. Our interior O line is dysfunctional. 3. Resign Street and Reilly and let Benjamin go
  5. They need to make some more moves obviously. In no particular order: 1. McD take the D calls over from Frazier 2. Let Clay and Shady and Benjamin either by trade later this year or offseason. 3. Target the following in next year's draft/FA - edge rusher -WR - O linemen They have pieces now. Got their QB, got their leader on D in Edmunds (unless you are the sort who believe guys have to be AllProd coming in). Got their solid CB and a good LT.
  6. Got to give the kid credit. Had a great game
  7. Is Beuerlein aware this is the first NFL game for Allen?
  8. The D has to do something. They can't allow themselves to get punked again.
  9. At some point you have to have some pride and step up
  10. As many know I try to look at positives but the team and coaching staff deserve whatever criticism one wants to provide. The defense especially looks like boys against men.
  11. For the life of me I do not understand why Khari Lee is inactive
  12. They have a way they want to build the roster. He doesn't fit
  13. You play the way he did you get what you get.
  14. He's a good candidate. Great player. Modern era I'd think about Schoebel. From back in the day George Saimes
  15. Good to hear for the young man. But he is still unreliable
  16. You don't care if he's on drugs. Bring him in anyway. That's genius.
  17. Tommy Bell for sure
  18. Good question. I just wonder if it's a matchup thing this week
  19. I think it would be in the first week or two.
