  1. I hate to see any young person waste their talents.
  2. They were in the playoffs last year. That noise you hear is the mike dropping.
  3. Wasn't the run D pretty good Sunday?
  4. I think McD's thing is he wants guys that really care about playing football. Dareus was not showing that here. I think he'd have no problem with guys that are a little different so long as they work their butt off.
  5. Wish we had kept Hogan and Watkins. One out of two ain't bad.
  6. You do not have a clue how any of those guys are going to pan out. I was a Rosen guy myself, but Allen has shown encouraging early signs.
  7. Hope you're wrong on Allen too. I am encouraged by what I've seen so far. Now Dareus. Recall the picture of McD with Dareus during camp last year? Recall the late attendance at meetings, etc.? It's not like McD didn't try to get the kid to come around. But at some point you can't pay a guy the top salary on the team and get the least effort. You just can't build a successful team that way. He was a good guy with Marrone last year, but in the off season has a potential rape charge. I won't be a bit surprised if his problems rear their head again this year.
  8. Agreed. Kyle said today McD doesn't criticize publicly. But I sure hope he did privately. The effort the other day was awful. And he and Daboll have to get Castillo in a room and tell him to get the line in gear or start looking for new employment.
  9. They work well together. They have a plan. If it works they're heros. If not they're toast.
  10. I will flat out guarantee you were one of the ones howling about how they have to draft a potential franchise QB. They do that and you still complain. I will flat out also guarantee that if they had traded back to get more picks you'd have howled about not getting Allen. I'd be willing to bet you did that with White, and went nuts they didn't take Mahomes, didn't you? The last two drafts they have a QB, they have the QB on D, a top flight CB, and a starting LT. And other guys that will fill roles. You want All Pros at every spot guaranteed. Completely unrealistic.
  11. Just your opinion. There's a difference between your opinion and reality. They did try to address these positions. Devious may have been wrong, true.
  12. Last year it was they have to get a QB; everything else was immaterial. They get him and now it's they should have gotten position players. Make up your mind. Yes, Johnson is a starter at the slot. Phillips is essentially a starter at DT. White is their starting CB. And so on. You have the mistaken idea that all draft picks have to be stars to be good picks. If Allen and Edmunds reach their potential and they get solid contributors from the others I mentioned their drafting is an unqualified sucess
  13. We too often fail to remember the human side of the equation. Rumorwas Woods wanted to get back to Cali big time. Money talks but it's not the sole determining factor The Rams are interesting. They have a year or two and then they'll get killed on the cap and have to blow things up.
  14. Potential franchise QB and leader of their D. Starting LT. Shut down corner (whatever that means). Starting DT next year. Slot CB this year. Good return guy in Ray Ray. Potential starting G in Teller. Yeah, not bad.
  15. They have to have O line as a priority next draft I would think
  16. I would love to see Teller get a shot
  17. With the taking away of headshots the middle of the field will be exploited in the passing game. Edmunds helps there. Except that Dareus was dogging it.
  18. Just stop. The guy said he imagined this and now you take it as gospel
  19. That is simply untrue. They brought in a C and T in free agency and a WR in Kerley. Just because you don't like them doesn't mean they did not address the issue.
  20. I think they felt Groy would step in; a lot of us did. Why he's failed thus far is a mystery.
  21. They hopefully have the leaders of their offense and defense after last year's draft. Now what? I recall all listening to Polian once explaining how he puts a team together. He said you have to decide what positions you felt were essential, and that's where you spend your money. His as I recall were QB, LT, WR, rush DE, and CB. The rest you fill in as you can. Given that, Beane and McD and their positions? I think QB and MLB. Got them, hopefully. LT? Should have that in Dawkins. CB? White. They need a good pass rushing DE. They need a good WR. If they go by a similar mindset to Polian, they need to fill in the D line, O line. I personally disagree; I'd invest more in lines. But the problem this year is the guys they use as O linemen aren't good enough. So next year, lot of cap space, lot of draft picks. Should be able to address a lot of needs.
