They make decisions I agree with and ones I don't. I just don't get all crazy like some around here if they make one I don't like. I also realize they have access to a whole lot more info than I do on which to base their decisions. i also don't buy into conspiracy theories like guys have to be Christian or they get cut. In that regard it's interesting Kerley went to TCU

Sadly, McDermott is the wrong guy to develop his own guys

I am one who assumed McCarron would be the guy while Allen got ready. Peterman beat him out then threw up on himself. I hope they will now sign a guy like Anderson. -
The Organizational Incompetence of the Buffalo Bills

Question. Is it not correct that, to get the protection and nurturing you want, they would have used all their picks on other players and hence would not have drafted the guy you want protected and nurtured? Different ways to build teams of course. -
I could spend the rest of the day listing all the successful HCs in the NF L that were "inexperienced" as a HC before they got the job. I'll just start with a few guys named Lombardi, Landry, and Noll. And we could add from there. As for GMs there was a guy named Polian. You may have heard of him before. And a number of others. Again, it could take all day. The key is any organization, which I emphasized and which you in your usual way either refused to read or understand, is to have your HC and GM in synch. The Bills have that now. We'll see how they do. Oh, and to say Beane had no experience dealing with personnel is laughable. You are so tied up in wanting to put a negative spin on every single thing done at OBD that you refuse to read. Or you have no idea how to comprehend what you read. Go back to ranting about how Terry could care less about winning and just wants money from you. It's more amusing.

Same old thing for years and years, huh? List the playoff teams last year. you probably won't because you'll be too busy ranting about how Terry just wants to suck money out of your wallet..., -
You clearly have no understanding of how the Pat's work or of how successful organizations become so.

Incorrect. You have to give good coaches time to get things set in place. You think Cleveland doesn't regret keeping Belichick now? I see your point though, and would say that identifying a guy that will be a successful HC in the NFL (or pretty much any pro sports team) is about as difficult as picking the right QB. It is very difficult to figure out what coordinators have what it takes to make that next step up. Some excellent coordinators top out at that level and flame out as HC. Ryan was a perfect example. I was very skeptical when Terry hired him, because I never felt he was a good HC, while he was a great DC. Terry quickly figured out his mistake in that case. It comes down to having to have synchrony between the coaching staff and front office on a style of play, so you aren't changing schemes every three years or so, and then have to jettison certain players because they don't fit, and so on. You jus keep spinning your wheels in that case. Baltimore hired Harbaugh with no HC experience, and when Ozzie took over he had never been a GM. Just as one example.

The Pats have had one HC in Belichick through their entire run. They have had Scarrnecchia coaching their O line for years. When guys get hired away because of their success they promote from within. Nice try. The most successful teams decide of their philosophy, have the front office and coaches in synch n that philosophy so they draft the right players, look at the right free agents, etc. Steelers, Packers, Pats, Ravens. Let Beane and McD do their jobs. We'll find out in a few years if their philosophy works. It did last year.

maybe they realize that the most successful NFL teams have continuity in their front office and coaching staffs.
