I favor getting rid of it. Make offenses earn it.

A young player, both in actual age and playing experience, has to learn and improve. The coach points that out. in other breaking news water is wet.

Best memories for me: 1. First ever game, exhibition against the Skins. Being there for their first game was amazing. 2. Season opener 1974. Beat the Raiders on Monday night. Best game I’ve ever seen live. 3. Watching OJ live against the Chiefs on MNF. To watch him play live was incredible, his later turn into a degenerate murdering scum notwithstanding. 4. Squishing the Fish season opener 1980 finally breaking the streak and helping carry the goal posts to Ralph. 5. My fiancé (now wife of 33 years) getting a Bills helmet face painted her first game there, and my mom being so proud she showed it off to all her friends in the seats around her (her and dad had seasons for over 30 years). Knew that moment my wife was accepted and loved.

Best non Super Bowl Bills Team, SB era, ever
oldmanfan replied to Thrivefourfive's topic in The Stadium Wall
1980 team. -
Another elite level guy or two would be great. Having a rusher at that level would make the Bills better for sure. But winning football teams are built with solid players as a base and we have a lot of them. So they are not “just another guy”. Guys like Dawkins, Brown, Cook are impact players on any team.

Let's be honest, Josh probably has 5 good seasons left

No they are not deliberately trying to miss on things. That is ridiculous. -

As if that is what they’re trying to do. -

What happens if Armageddon hits with 5 minutes left in the Super Bowl and we’re up by 30 points? If, if, if. The Bills will continue trying to improve the roster this off-season just like every team does. -

He has 10 at least. And the stuff about not being cerebral or not becoming cerebral is crap. -
He has the Bills mentality. He knows how much the fans are behind him here, what they did for his grandmother and such. He’ll be here long term. And as much as we all love Josh, and we all do, it is a fact that in the last two playoff games he had the ball in his hands with a chance to win and didn’t. Not all his fault of course but the stuff about it just being coaching or defense or anything but Josh is old. It is on the organization as a whole including Josh and he’s the first one to say that.
-
We all of course realize that in the history of recorded sports there has never been one example of a guy improving from his rookie year

If you don’t want to sound like a Debbie Downer, then don’t sound like a Debbie Downer. -
The Bills did not get lucky with Josh. They spent a lot of time looking at the QBs in that draft, and when they all went out to take Josh to dinner they realized he’d be the perfect guy for the Bills. Beane moved into position in the draft to get him, and there you go. It gets really tiring to see the front office criticized when a pick doesn’t work but then give no credit when they land a superstar.

Wouldn’t surprise me if Mack comes back to his college town -

So we are just supposed to ignore injuries now? Sure. -

I’m thinking they go after a high profile WR or DE in free agency or trade. And I am always in favor of drafting a big tub of goo to anchor the D line. Looks like there’s a ton of those in the draft this year. -

Everyone knows Samuel was hurt most of the year, don’t they? -
Would You Consider Getting Tre if Cut By the Ravens ?
oldmanfan replied to T master's topic in The Stadium Wall
Only if he can convert to safety. Tre was a warrior for us but the two injuries plus age don’t add up to CB anymore. -
The replacement is easy: Williams. The decision to do so: not so easy. It could make the team worse if Milano gets back to warrior All Pro status. It could also have cap implications that limit the ability to get other FAs. OTOH if you included him in a trade for someone like Garrett (let’s say Milano and Miller and a high round pick), it could balance out salaries, although I will defer to those much more expert that I on cap/salary stuff. When it comes to veterans and when to pull the trigger, I always remember what Bill Walsh said: you’re better off getting rid of a guy a year too early than a year too late. Given Milano’s age and injury history he might fit that. Love the guy, a great Bill, but the NFL is a harsh business sometimes.

I’d need to know what I’d be getting in return, but theoretically yes. Williams is there to replace him.
