  1. The starters are Shakir, Coleman, Palmer, and Samuel. The 5th guy ain’t playing much unless he steps up and proves value like Hollins did last year and if he contributes on special teams. I know they have said they need speed, and that they had several guys in for talks that were the smaller speed type guys. But they also knew they needed more DBs (remember, Taron ain’t getting any younger) so when it came to their picks on day 3 they saw more value there.
  2. We have fast guys on the practice squad. The assumption is a day 3 guy this year would be better. Maybe yes, maybe no.
  3. But people here are complaining we didn’t get that on day 3 of the draft. The kind of guy you’re describing is in the top 10 of day 1, isn’t he? I am sure Beane looks at all such scenarios.
  4. Film of games he played in, yes. Or do you think I watched films he didn’t play in?
  5. My opinion is he’s an upgrade over Cooper. I acknowledge I could be wrong. Perhaps you should do the same with your opinions. He needs to step up. Beane has challenged him to do so.
  6. Do you take into account he was playing injured most of last year?
  7. Hancock at safety. And one of the guys they drafted should be the replacement for an aging Taron in a couple years.
  8. I think it is much more likely he gets better vs. worse. Yes, I watched some film. No, that not make me an expert in any way, shape or form. Just like you, the difference being I accept that.
  9. How many truly explosive weapons are there in the league? I am sure Beane is looking. Best thing for the offense now is to get things worked out with Cook. But he is basically what people clamored for on day 3 of the draft. A speedster. And right back at you. I’m not the one pretending to be an expert.
  10. Because it’s a chat room and that’s what we do. Your opinions have no more value than anyone else. How was this draft going to change it?
  11. Film on Palmer when they got him. Look, bottom line is I don’t think your opinions mean squat. And vice versa of course.
  12. You have guys like Hamler who are precisely what guys are moaning about not getting on day 3 this weekend. I have watched some. Palmer upgrades Cooper. What was your solution in this draft? There weren’t these stud WRs you apparently want.
  13. Were we going to get one on day 3 of this draft?
  14. I’m sorry. Do we now no longer think guys can improve after their rookie year? Or that guys with torn Packs and other injuries won’t get better?
  15. What WR could we have drafted in round 5 or 6 that you feel would be an automatic upgrade over guys on the roster currently?
  16. Shavers takes Hollins spot. We’ll miss Hollins more on special teams than anything. Palmer upgrades Cooper. I cannot for the life of me understand all the angst over a WR #5.
  17. The problem is you consistently bash the team.
  18. That’s why they got Palmer in free agency.
  19. Palmer, Coleman, Shakir, and Samuel are your top 4. Shavers is #5 and takes the role Hollins had. They got Palmer because statistically he separates well and gives them a downfield threat. Next.
  20. Oh I see. Only specific rounds count. Thanks for clarifying.
  21. What WR in this draft was going to change that?
  22. Incomplete as I would grade any draft until you see how guys pan out. But a draft is supposed to shore up weaknesses and our D has been the issue. So it was good to focus there.
  23. Who? Which one had a high ranking that he’d be whatever you want to refer to as a #1 WR? Who ranked higher than the guys chosen?
  24. We signed a guy in free agency that has a high ranking for ability to separate. Now give me a day 3 guy that we could have gotten that would have given us anything over guys already on the practice squad like Hamler.
  25. You have a guy like Hamler sitting on our practice squad with speed. You also got Shenault in FA. And Palmer has shown he gets separation downfield. Do you honestly believe some random 4th round pick is the answer to a question that Brady seems to have answered? If he just wanted a guy with speed last year he could have elevated one and didn’t
