I was at this one, definitely super loud. But the second half of “The Comeback”, holy smokes I’ve never heard any crowd that loud before or since. Utterly deafening the entire time Houston had the ball, and pin drop silence when we were on O.

Indeed. When I was in my prime as a fan (read: drinking from 8am thru the half) I would use the three-pronged attack; yell, clap and kick the metal seatback in front of me. If the people in front were standing. They always were In my more, ahem, mature fanhood I’d still slap the metal seats around when the situation warranted. Definitely resonates.

Well you must not know a lot about the history of organized crime in WNY. Definitely a big presence for a long, time going back to early 1900s. That said, I never really personally cared for the moniker, but I did like the fact that its creation was “organic” amongst a group of fans, and caught the attention of the players. It’s a fun story. But now that it’s been co-opted and cashed in on by the “suits”, it’s totally lost that romantic type of luster. The more I heard it the cornier it got. No judgement, it’s just not for me.
