It's 'conditioning' for the eventual billion-dollar boondoggle downtown Pegula Palace.
Don't get me wrong, I'm all for a cleaner, safer stadium experience, but I wholeheartedly agree with you, it is definitely getting a little too 'sterile' for my tastes.
This is how they want it to be, inside and outside of the stadium, when the new building comes with jacked up ticket prices. They're gonna want to filter more people pregame into the stadium and out of the parking lots so they can recoup their building costs. Yes, it makes business sense, but what keeps me going back to the NErF is the couple hours pre and post game, eating, enjoying a beverage and busting chops with the tailgate crew.
A downtown building will change everything, and that's just the way it is.
