10/20/24 Game 7 GAMEDAY Bills vs Titans 1st half thread

Go Bills!!! -
I actually really enjoy the Prime Vision alternate broadcast on Thursday evenings. I love being able to see what’s happening downfield every play. Plus, the added AI overlays give some additional context to pre-snap movements. One additional opinion: The NFL hasn’t peaked, but the Bills might have. I noticed a similar trend in my Packers friends towards the end of the Rodgers era. They were much less interested in the NFL because they knew just about everything that would happen to their team. They’d make a run and find a way to blow it in the playoffs. It creates a form of burnout. Those same Packers fans are now deeply interested in the NFL again and I think it is because of the excitement of an ascending team.

Do you approve of the job Brandon Beane is doing?

Can we have a poll like this after every game? Then summarize the results over an entire season? -
Nothing new is happening. This happens every season. Folks feel the need to say “good coaching” (just two weeks ago) and “bad coaching” (now) but it’s not that simple. The fact that the Bills are fairly dominant in the first quarter of the season every year says something positive about the organization. The fact that the Bills always go through an early-mid season slump says something negative about the organization. The fact that the Bills always get their act together enough to make the playoffs and to advance deep enough to play a real contender also says something good about the organization. The fact that the Bills can never top said contender says something negative about the organization. There is no mystery here. The Bills will get right within 4 weeks or so and will head into the playoffs in “pretty good” shape. A new receiver won’t change this. The more upsetting thing for me is that the organization has not been able to change this pattern. I LOATHE the emotional doom and gloom posters. I think they are very, very wrong in their analytical approach to football in general. However, I am also of the opinion that the sample size is becoming large enough to legitimately question whether this organization can win the big one. I see another looming divisional or, at best, AFC championship game exit.

I think Samuel has been getting his fair share of looks / designed plays. I also think he has been bad with nearly all of his opportunities. The Bills need better out of him - or to stop calling his number altogether.

The run game was working best yesterday. No qualms with always running it on first when Josh is having an off day. One thing that has been bothering me: Nothing good seems to happen when we target Samuel. Time to give it a rest for, well, maybe the remaining games or so.

The next 5 games are very winnable.

This is par for the course for this Bills team. I am prepared for about 4 more games of “ugly” football before they really start to click again. -
Allen looks.. off this year.

Folks were too high after the first three weeks and are now getting too low after these past two weeks. -

Need to pull Allen. No reason to risk him for this game. Wet and a blowout. -

Josh outguns poor Tua Like Jim crushed Dan in the day, Miami’s same fate!

This is all so simple. If McD fires Smiley, then Smiley is a scapegoat. If McD doesn’t fire Smiley, there is no accountability.

This is what drove me nuts. The emphasis on enforcing this rule was largely driven by how egregiously Taylor violated the rule in the past. There he was doing it yet again and getting away with it yet again while the opposing team’s tackle was hammered for the same. It’s the inequity that drove me mad! Taylor also leaves early. A lot of tackles do jump the snap by a fraction of a second and, though I saw it called several times throughout the weekend, it was enforced very inconsistently. I didn’t notice any inequity in those calls, however.

He seemed to always be taking care of his teammates. Did anyone else see this? There were several shots of him fixing helmets and another of him getting Josh a water bottle.

NFL 2024 Kickoff: Ravens @ Chiefs, Sept 5 - 8:20pm

The lopsided illegal procedures is mind boggling. KC’s RT is both too far back EVERY play, but is also committing a false start almost every play as well.
