sorry tb...we had to put our 14 year old lab down in the spring and then my 19 year old cat died a few months later. you didn't fail anyone. you have them the best life possible, and you were there until the end. i'm still thrown off in the morning by not having them as part of my routine. i even still glance over in my office to see if my cat is where he always sat. to be honest, i still miss them every day, but i take comfort in the fact they led wonderful lives and received tons of love.

you have to admit it's amusing. bman posts a story that nursesclothing thought was fantastic. 19 hours later, nursesclothing posts the exact same story. do you even read this stuff or are you just on automatic at this point?

thanksgiving turkey is the business. i'm all into the deep fry method for the flavor. i don't typically like deli turkey though. something about it always being wet doesn't do it for me.

i don't watch cnn, but cnn, msnbc, fox...they're all infotainment to me. there's some news in there, but with an obvious bias. if someone is screaming at you, it's not news.

it's someone's opinion, so it's not a matter of right or wrong really. i just don't understand how someone who claims no one is getting the "real" news reports this as actual news. it's not.

i don't think that the teachers suck so much as the game has changed when it comes to education. if they can't get the backing of parents or certain admin, what's the point. my wife is a school psych, and a lot of her coworkers are great teacher, who legit care about the kids. Whether or not they can teach they way they want is the question for me. even years ago we'd see teachers hang on because of the ease of the job and money. my wife has an aunt that i think taught kindergarten or first grade, and was making around 100k a year. She just lingered around because why not? now we see nys teachers bailing the moment they hit their 30 years. not just retiring, but running in the other direction, with no desire to even sub. add in the lowered retirement tier system in ny, and it will make young kids think about going into teaching.

i really don't have any opinion on comey one way or the other. if he's found guilty or not won't say anything for me, but i'm just shocked how mismanaged it was when brought to the courts. if you're going to go after someone, just don't embarrass yourself.

i'm not willing to say it's not that way in the vast majority. one student crashing out at the southern school of energy and sustainability, (i'm guessing this is a non-traditional school) doesn't represent the public school system in general. there will always be incidences like this, but again, i'm not someone who thinks schools are a camp for indoctrination.

i don't think people misunderstand trump's political strategies at all. Other than immigration, i just think he's been doing things with no real plan in place. doge, tariffs, epstein, ukraine. etc, are all kind of a ***** show at this point. trump so far has done things that create media, but no real substance so far.
