  1. of all the players waived this season.... 🤷‍♂️ I will say He is a high effort/energy guy and the Sabres could use more of that.
  2. Supposedly everything was put on hold until after the trade deadline. I still think that Jason Karmanos joins the front office. Pretty much every hockey analyst has said it’s going to happen. I do feel like the Rutherford thing is less likely though. I really hope they still add some type of team president or senior advisor. It’s not that I really wanted Rutherford specifically. Just someone experienced who has connections around the NHL and can help Adams rebuild the organization (front office, scouting, coaching, etc). edit - also forgot to say, I think the thing I liked most about the rumored deal with Rutherford: that he required a written agreement with the Pegulas that they wouldn’t interfere in hockey operations.
  3. As they should be. Not all opinions are equal. Some opinions are not based on facts and should be treated as such (not talking about this specific conversation, just in general)
  4. I didn’t get that impression at all. I figured he said that because he knew the offense was the better unit last season (but obviously couldn’t say that), so he figured they’d focus more on defense. Plus, the defense is returning as many starters as offense.
  5. I’m confident that if he means what he says about being a “big statistics and logic guy”, he will get vaccinated. and who knows, maybe this answer will eventually end up helping more skeptical people choose to get vaccinated. If Allen (eventually) says he looked at all the statistics and chose to get vaccinated, maybe it’ll influence more skeptics to get the vaccine too. overall i don’t really have any issue with his answer.
  6. Anyone have the YouTube link to the interview? edit - nevermind Spotify has the video
  7. I’ll be shocked if we get a 1st for him the way he’s played this season. I don’t really care about the pick at all. Just get a decent prospect close to NHL ready. What you mentioned sounds great. I don’t see Skinner going anywhere. He has a full no move clause and with the NHL salary cap staying flat for the next 4 years, cap space is at more of a premium than I can ever remember. Look at all the good players that have passed through waivers this season because of their cap hits. No team wants to take on cap right now.
  8. What a game by Dahlin last night!! Mittelstadt had a really good game too. And Thompson looked pretty good as well. So did Rasmus Asplund. Actually, all the kids are playing pretty good hockey right now. It’s definitely nice to see.
  9. Nice! Glad he signed. I was wondering if he would choose to go the college UFA route.
  10. He seems pretty happy to be leaving the NYJ 😂
  11. The deadline is this coming Monday. So I think part of it is precaution. But I would hope that they are reasonably sure that a trade will happen. It wouldn’t be the best look to hold him out and then not trade him at the deadline 😂
  12. I might actually watch tonight.
  13. It’s all good! It had nothing to do with anything you guys said. After I read back what I posted I just realized that it didn’t sound right. 😂
  14. Yeah I deleted that last sentence. I quickly realized how bad that sounded. I just meant that it was cool to hear that the vaccine works, not that 9 people got covid. That’s terrible (they did refuse the vaccine, but still... obviously best wishes for a speedy recovery for them!).
  15. Cool real world story on vaccine protection: I was talking to A fully vaccinated friend of the family this morning. She decided to meet a group of friends out at the bar for drinks. She was nervous about going but went anyway. As the night went on and the drinks flowed, the masks came off. Well, in the week following she gets a call that her (unvaccinated) friends all got covid. 9 of 12 people who went out drinking with her now have covid-19. Not her. She’s had 3 covid tests so far and all 3 have been negative!
  16. Maybe it’s just the rite aid pharmacies we go to. We’ve been to a few different ones around us and it’s been like like that every time. Like when we go for flu vaccines, we fill out the paperwork and then have to wait usually at least 30 mins before they have the vaccine ready. I’ll have to try Walgreens next year!
  17. At the time I remember reading that he was the highest rated QB prospect to enter the draft since Andrew Luck 🤷‍♂️
  18. I’ll be interested to see how he looks away from Adam Gase and with more talent around him on offense.
  19. https://www.espn.com/nhl/story/_/id/31194727/the-human-side-buffalo-sabres-18-game-winless-streak-2021 ‘The human side of the Buffalo Sabres' 18-game winless streak of 2021’ good read.
  20. Pharmacies are definitely not very efficient when it comes to vaccinating. I took my elderly parents to get vaccinated at Rite Aid. Both times it was an hour long ordeal. 90% of it was just waiting for them. Me, my sister and her fiancé all got our shots from different places (state run sites and/or hospitals) and we were all in and out in 15-20 min. for both doses. But hey, an hour’s worth of time is a small price to pay to be vaccinated against covid.
  21. This Vancouver Canucks outbreak looks pretty bad. They are up to 16 players, 3 coaches covid positive so far but I guess the NHL expects basically The entire team to end up testing positive for covid. best wishes for a speedy recovery for everyone involved! Their AHL team is also dealing with a covid outbreak, though not as severe. They haven’t played in 3 weeks.
  22. Wow, forgot all about this. I just checked my junk mail folder and I also have my “free” mask offer. $7 shipping for a “free” mask that retails for $9. No thanks.
