Yep. They’re looking like the 2020 offense with the pre-2020 (consistently top 10) defense! -

I love that they tried to put points on the board with only 20+ seconds left instead of just taking a knee and going into the half. I hope they stay aggressive all game. We all just saw how quickly the score can change! I hope it’s a lesson for McDermott, though he already seems to be much more aggressive as a coach. -

Bills offense has to put together a drive right now and get points. Change the momentum. Allen can’t press though. Just do what he’s been doing so far today. -

As much as I hate to you have to give Ron Rivera credit for that call on the kickoff and Hopkins for the perfect execution. -

So sorry for your loss. My condolences to you and your family.

He’s played well but as you said he hasn’t really been asked to do a lot. Tons of short screen passes and easy completions. Credit to the Pats for putting him in a good position but I’m not scared of anything he’s done yet. Lets see how he does when the Pats are down big and need to open up the offense more. It'll be years before we know what Mac Jones is anyway so it’s not worth worrying about yet. And I still have faith that Allen stays the better QB between the two. Jones doesn’t have the freak arm + athletic traits Allen does.

They’re officially above the cap floor now. Not sure how I feel about this deal yet. Seems like more than Dahlin is currently worth, especially since this only buys RFA years. Plus it walks him right to the cusp of UFA. He will be 1 year away (just like Reinhart) when this deal ends and it would be pretty easy for him to force his way out if he chooses to (just like Reinhart). I don’t know how comfortable I would have been giving him even more on an 8yr deal though.

Gotta give Lamar Jackson and the Ravens credit. Great game.

Anyone else read John Harbaugh’s lips? Harbaugh asked Lamar if he wanted to go for it and let him make the decision. He said “Lamar. Lamar, you want to go for this? (Lamar answers) ok”

Damn, what a game!

Josh Allen is looking a lot more like the 2019 version
BillsFan4 replied to Mikie2times's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I’m not panicking yet, but I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t a little concerned. Especially during the first 1/2 today. Seeing how frustrated Allen was brought back some bad memories. Allen has definitely not looked like the 2020 version so far. I wouldn’t say he looks like 2019 Josh Allen either. He’s been better than that and more mature/experienced with (most of) his decision making. But there has been a pre-2020 feel to some of his play. Its not just him though. It’s the entire offense, outside of a couple players (Diggs and Singletary come to mind). The o line was garbage against Pittsburgh. Receivers aren’t getting open like they were last year. And a lot of Daboll’s play-calling has been suspect, at best. I really haven’t been overly impressed with his play calling so far this season. I don’t think he’s done Allen many favors when he’s struggled. Im still trying to hold off judgement at least until they play a few more games (it’s a lot easier to do when they win, like today!). I’m still holding out hope they figure things out. Maybe they’re just rusty or they need to figure out a new way to attack the defensive game plans they’re seeing. -
Try listening to the Bills interviews with headphones. I’ve been using a cheap pair of earbuds and I can now finally hear all the questions. When they ask questions the audio cuts to one channel (usually the left headphone), which may be why it’s so hard to hear without headphones.

Interesting that they were willing to trade Reinhart + pick #14 to trade up in the draft for any player that was in the top 7 on their draft boards.

Different circumstances than what happened with Frazier. McDermott didn’t give play calling duties to one of Frazier’s assistant coaches. He took them over himself as a head coach with extensive experience as a DC. and he did it in game (iirc). I believe he said that he just felt he had a really good feel for what the opposing offense was doing and that’s why he took over. It’s one thing for the head coach with experience on that side of the ball to take over play calling. What Tim Graham is suggesting is much different and much more controversial IMO.
