  1. Same here! I am just glad the deal got done. I’m not a fan of all the tax breaks/handouts billionaires get. But I also know it isn’t changing any time soon and I had no interest in seeing NY take some principled stand over it that could result in the Bills moving. They are far too important to WNY to take that risk (IMO). If NY wasn’t willing to pay, I guarantee some other city was. Very happy I don’t have to worry about it. The Bills are locked into WNY for a long time now and I couldn’t be happier about it! Can’t wait to see renderings too! It’s going to be so cool to have a modern NFL stadium.
  2. Yeah, not the best first game for Owen Power to see in person 😂
  3. Love watching this kid play.
  4. Definitely makes me wonder if that’s the case. I wouldn’t say it’s the only conclusion though. He’s actually only started 1 season in college. Plus Michigan does have another pretty great class of new recruits coming in. Hopefully Adams has some idea if what Portillo is truly thinking. If Adams has any doubts maybe he will use Portillo as a piece in a trade for a more established goaltender.
  5. Boo! I don’t get why he wouldn’t want to turn pro. The net in Rochester and Buffalo are wide open. This definitely makes me nervous he doesn’t intend to sign here. If I were Adams I’d be trying to find out. Either way, I think if gets a decent trade offer he has to at least consider trading him.
  6. I’m a picky eater myself so I know what you mean. I’m not real big on salads. Don’t like fish. I mainly only eat the standard vegetables (peas, green beans, carrots, corn, etc). But I just started with what I like. 1/2 of your plate should technically be the vegetable. Only a 1/4 should be meat and 1/4 carb is a good place to start (or no carbs. But that can be hard). You could also start by cutting out snacks in between meals (or at least one meal). It’s also helpful (for weight loss) not to eat after like 7pm or so each day. Snacking right before bed is the worst. It doesn’t get burned off. One thing that helped me eat a bit healthier - I bought one of those bullet blenders and started making my own smoothies. It’s a way for me to get some healthier options (fruits and veggies) into my diet. You can kind of mask the taste of the healthier stuff by adding in (fat free) yogurt and/or granola etc. There’s tons of smoothie recipes out there. I actually use the bullet blender to make myself meal replacement shakes too. A lot of days I’ll just do a smoothie for lunch. Check out that 7 minute workout app I linked too. It’s free. It’s a good way to start exercising. They have beginner routines, and it’s only 7 minutes long. Plus, you can set it to remind you daily to do your 7min routine. And it keeps track of your streaks, so it’s kind of motivating (or at least it was for me). It’d be a good start. Either that or start taking daily walks. Good luck Virgil!
  7. definitely worth watching for Sabre fans

  9. That was my thought as well.
  10. Well, all 3 of our college prospects lost last night in the Frozen Four. So now Power/Portillo/Johnson watch is on. We know Power is going to sign. Hopefully Johnson and Portillo do too. Both can turn UFA after next season if they go back to college.
  11. If he plays in the NHL this year, it burns a year of his ELC. Same as when Mittelstadt was signed out of college. He only played 6 NHL games that season. It won’t count as a service year (toward UFA status) but it’ll burn a year off his ELC. The only way the Sabres don’t burn a year off his contract is if he signs an ATO with Rochester, which I don’t see happening.
  12. I’d check to see what she tweeted, but… 😂
  13. I’d be more worried about him becoming a minority owner of the dolphins than playing for them. I like the incompetence of their current ownership group 😂
  14. interesting read. Thanks for sharing. I can understand why he wanted to go back to school for another season and still feels he has something to prove in the NCAA. He missed his whole freshman year to injury. Then came back and played amazing but was snubbed for awards he should’ve probably won (if he didn’t miss time for the Olympics). Then the season ended on a fluky goal he let in. I’m not going to worry about him not signing. If he doesn’t sign after next season then we have issues.
  15. https://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/dp-airgometer-exercise-bike-non-131448141 I bought myself one of these exercise bikes ⬆️ . There are usually lots of them for sale used in your local classifieds. I liked that it was cheap and that it also worked out your upper body at the same time. Plus the fan wheel helps keep you cooler. then I also bought this mini stair stepper: https://www.amazon.com/Fitness-Stepper-Exercise-Equipment-Resistance/dp/B09NJ4VFGV i actually use the stair stepper more than anything else. I work from home as well and try to use it at least 3-5 times a day, just for short periods of time. Like, I’ll take a short break every hour or two and use the stepper for 5 mins. Or sometimes later at night when I’m watching TV I’ll make myself get up during commercials to use the stepper until the show comes back on. I also bought one of the old original Total Gyms. I got it cheap. I really enjoy the total gym because there’s so many different exercises you can do on it. I may eventually get myself a cheap rowing machine too, since it’s a quick way to get in an upper+lower body workout. So all in, I spent maybe a couple hundred (if that) and I’m plenty happy with the equipment I have. If I were you I’d start with cheaper stuff or just do workouts without exercise equipment. Set small goals. Too often we think buying exercise equipment will make us exercise, but it won’t. It may motivate you to use it for a short time but you have to find your own motivation to get fit/healthy. When I first started working out again I downloaded this free app called “7 minute workout: fitness app”. I’d highly recommend checking it out. It’s a really easy way to get started. There are tons of different 7 min routines, or you can design your own from the list of exercises. Then they have videos that run on timers, so it walks you through each exercise (usually roughly 15-30 seconds each). here’s the link to the iOS version of the app: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/7-minute-workout-fitness-app/id806995720
  16. So true. You can exercise for hours a day then eat all the calories you burned with a couple handfuls of crappy food, or a couple glasses of fatty/sugary drinks. It takes a LOT of exercise to burn off the excess calories you eat. I’ve been exercising on and off for a few years now but changing my eating habits made the biggest difference in my weight loss, by far. I lost a lot more weight by changing eating habits than anything else. Just simply Eliminating snacks between meals made a big difference. I actually lost more weight over the winter by eliminating snacks (with much less activity) than I did over the summer where I was taking 10+ mile bike rides at least 3x a week but still eating snacks between meals and at night. exercise is still super important though, especially if you live a somewhat sedentary lifestyle. They say that’s one of the worst things for your health, next to smoking and obesity. Virgil - one easy thing I’d recommend (besides cutting out snacks between meals) is switching to water as your main drink. I buy bottles of fresh (100% natural) lemon juice and do a few squeezes into my water for flavor. It’s pretty much all I drink now (plain water or lemon water). I look at it this way - I would much rather eat my calories than drink them.
  17. Every team in our division is trying to emulate the Diggs trade, huh? 😂
  18. Thanks for the suggestion! I actually have Verizon wireless now, but not unlimited. We have a family plan with a 2gb data limit. I’ll have to see what the difference in monthly price would be between the different options. I have Disney + already ($6.99/mo). I also have the basic Hulu right now for 99 cents/month for a year (maybe 6-8 months left) but I don’t watch it much. I wish they had Fios in my area.
  19. Yes I do. I’d enjoy getting the bandits games, especially with how good they’ve been. But I don’t watch much college sports. Mostly just NFL and NHL. Some AHL/college hockey. Bandits game on the rare occasion one is on TV. I yeah it’s not as appealing without all the games on MSG. I’d only get the 8 Sabres games on ESPN+. I was thinking it could be a nice MSG alternative if I eventually ditch my cable.
  20. So basically all of the Sabres games they show on MSG I could get with ESPN + then? if so that’s not a bad deal.
  21. Wow, what a play by Dahlin (on the Sabres 3rd goal) to keep the puck in at the blueline then find Olofsson with that pass! Game was on ESPN + so I didn’t watch it. Next game is on ESPN + too. Aggravating that I need to spend another $6.99/mo just to be able to watch all of the same Sabres games I was always able to watch before this. I feel like I already pay for all the games with my cable package. To anyone with ESPN + : do they show all of the Sabres games? Or only a handful? if they showed them all it would be a nice alternative to cable.
