Eagles make big move. Trade for Robert Quinn
BillsFan4 replied to Buffalo_Stampede's topic in The Stadium Wall
I’m just glad he didn’t go to the chiefs. I believe there were rumors they were interested. Its a nice move for Philly but it really shouldn’t impact the Bills much. If it kept him from the chiefs it probably helped the Bills. -
yeah that was ugly. Probably their worst game of the year. Buffalo looked sloppy and totally out of sync all night. Bad passes, bobbled pucks, guys out of position all night, countless odd man breaks. Very little went right for them. Skinner and Thompson both struggled, again. But the whole team did. We haven’t seen much from those 2 yr this season, though. We need both to get going. The Sabres just seem to struggle against Seattle. I think it’s the style of hockey they play. Seattle is not the most well structured team but they play hard and are constantly pressuring the puck. The Sabres seem to struggle against teams that play like that. They just couldn’t seem to get to their game last night. and yeah that goal that was called back because Mittelstadt decided to lazily coast to the bench as his teammates were entering the o zone just pissed me off. I wanted Granato to staple his ass to the bench after that but he was right back out there the next shift. I can live with mistakes, but not such a lack of effort. No excuse for that. Mitts has to be way more aware than that. At least get your butt over the damn blue line.

Another 10pm game tonight. Hoping they can finish off this road trip strong! Buffalo is winless (0-2) vs Seattle so far in Seattle’s short time in the NHL. Hopefully tonight that changes!

Damn that sucks. Hall was playing great. Hope he has a full recovery. It’ll be interesting to see how much more they pass now and how Wilson handles it.

I agree they need to sustain it. But I wouldn’t necessarily say they started well the last 3 years. Last year they started out with 3 wins and things went downhill pretty quick. They only had 2 more wins in their next 9 games after that. The year before they had 1 win in their first 5 games. In 2019 they definitely started out hot. They had 8 wins in their first 10 games then fell off a cliff. But it was a lot of fluky wins and their underlying stats were still pretty bad. You could kind of tell it wasn’t sustainable, though I don’t think anyone expected things to get as bad as they did. I’m cautiously optimistic this time is different. Im hoping this is more like a continuation of the good play to end last season. Their underlying stats look pretty good too, outside of maybe shots allowed. I was skeptical they did enough in the offseason (they have the youngest and cheapest roster in the NHL). But I’m starting to become a believer of this new young core. All I know for sure is that I’m actually excited to watch Sabres hockey again.

Sabres are playing some really good hockey!!

Sabres played well last night. Calgary was undefeated entering that game. Comrie looks legit so far. I was hoping for him to simply just be league average. That would be a big step up for Buffalo. But so far he’s been even better than that. Really hope it continues! Sounds like he works his ass off. https://theathletic.com/3708192/2022/10/19/sabres-oilers-eric-comrie/ i thought this was interesting.⬇️ I questioned that strategy at the time. I wasn’t sure what the Sabres were thinking. I was worried they were hurting his confidence. Comrie only played on the road when the Sabres were icing AHL/juniors lineups, against the other teams NHL lineups. He predictably got lit up. Interesting to read that Comrie requested to play those nights. i guess Granato had the same concern.

Are the Sabres games on ESPN + in 4k? If so I may have to subscribe.

Green Bay claims Bills 6th round pick Luke Tenuta (T) off waivers
BillsFan4 replied to chongli's topic in The Stadium Wall
I agree. I am guessing he was drafted with the thought of developing him on the practice squad for a year or two like they’ve done with other late round picks. I think it’s too soon to say for sure that he was a missed pick. He obviously didn’t make the roster but I don’t think that means he’s a missed pick. He could still eventually end up back on our practice squad and/or develop into a backup or starter. Time will tell. It might have been best for him if he did stay here with our coaching staff. But he was claimed off waivers. Twice now. Obviously other teams see something in him that’s worth developing. -
Philly only unbeaten after Thursday. 17-0?
BillsFan4 replied to 1onemangang7's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yeah I agree that I think it will be a different story next game, especially if the bills are healthy. But still, it would be cool to be 6-0 right now and thinking about the potential to go undefeated. -
Fans greeting returning team at the airport (as we do...)
BillsFan4 replied to JÂy RÛßeÒ's topic in The Stadium Wall
All the Bills players seem to love it. They all rave about how cool it is to have the fans meet them at the airport. Also, this team seems different than last year. They seem more focused and dialed in. They also seem more even keel. Not getting too high or too low after a win/loss. There really seems to be huge buy in on the whole “every week is the most important game on the schedule because it’s the next game” mentality. Josh Allen seems to be leading the charge. He has really matured as a leader on and off the field. He seems soo dialed in on taking it one week at a time. He did an interview after a win recently and he was so focused on that week’s game he legitimately didn’t even know who the next team on the schedule was. I think it might have even been last week. The interviewer was asking him about the hype for their next game+opponent and Josh said “hand to god, I didn’t even know we played them next week”. Listen to him after last night’s game. I don’t think it’s an act. I think he’s just maturing as a leader. The maturation of Allen + Diggs as leaders and bringing Von Miller in, as well as the overall growth of the team really seems to have them in a good place mentally. I am cautiously optimistic that we won’t have our annual stretch of games where they play like crap. I’m sure there will be a game here and there where they don’t perform at peak capacity. But we’ve yet to see a game where they didn’t play well for the entire game. When they’ve had stretches of bad play in a game they’ve been able to adjust and overcome it IN GAME. That hasn’t always happened in the past. Our half time adjustments this year have been excellent on both sides of the ball. -
Fraizer and McDermott great coaches
BillsFan4 replied to Billsforumsucks's topic in The Stadium Wall
I feel like our coaching staff keeps learning to evolve and adapt, which is what you want from your coaches. They’re all humble enough to know they still don’t know it all and hungry enough to keep wanting to improve. That’s one reason (of many) that I was so excited when McDermott was hired. He’s always been trying to learn and grow his entire NFL career. It’s one of the reasons Andy Reid kept promoting him in Philly. And he was always talking about continually learning + growing in Carolina. -

BillsFan4 replied to 1onemangang7's topic in The Stadium Wall
After winning yesterday it really kind of pissed me off that the Bills aren’t 6-0. They really should be, and with 1 or 2 more health bodies against Miami or without the crazy heat wave + no shade, they most likely would be. Miami won, so credit where credit’s due. But I still don’t really feel like they deserved to win that game. -

Glad Von Miller got to experience this. It’ll only help him to love Buffalo even more than he already does, and help his recruitment pitch. I can only imagine what he’s saying to OBJ… I think Von Miller is going to be a good recruiter for Buffalo. He’s extremely well respected among his NFL peers. I mean, obviously Josh Allen’s play on the field will probably be the biggest factor, but still…- 85 replies

Milano not having his best day in coverage. Also, Von Miller has been underwhelming today. edit - nice play by Milano there! -

Hearing the announcers talking about how Mahomes and Allen were both franchise changing picks just makes me think about how the Bills traded that pick to Kansas City. I know I need to just learn how to enjoy this Mahomes/Allen rivalry. It could end up being one of the best of all times. But man, all I can think about is how much easier life would be for the Bills if they hadn’t traded that #10 pick to Kansas City. New Orleans was at #11 and Sean Peyton wanted Mahomes. Imagine only having to see him in the super bowl. That trade with Kansas City is probably the biggest road block to true AFC dominance and it was put there by the Bills. 🤦♂️ Maybe I’ll learn to love the rivalry more when Buffalo beats KC in the playoffs…😂 -

You can’t give Mahomes that much time to throw. Everyone was covered. He went through his reads, couldn’t find anyone open and still had time to throw after that. DBs can’t cover forever. -
Wow. Very surprised to read this news. I like him a lot, but he’s only played 54 total NHL games. Giving him $4.3M x 7 seems a bit premature, but hopefully it ends up being a steal over the life of the deal. I’m optimistic it will.

Well, here’s the part where the chiefs most likely take the lead and never look back… it was fun thinking the raiders might win for a quarter there. 😂

Yeah it sure seems that way! I could see him getting one in time, or if Girgensons/Dahlin/Okposo miss any time. I just don’t think he’s been here long enough yet. But I do see him being an assistant captain in the future.
