"Giants 'don't like' Josh Rosen".
BillsFan4 replied to BurpleBull's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Colts pick at 6 (which it has been written they are open to moving back from) would give the Giants one of Barkley, Nelson or Chubb. -

Did you know Mayfield has also had 2 concussions in college? (and at least 1 in high school) And IMO it could be argued that his playing style will put him at risk of suffering more in the future. Build a good o line around Rosen and you can help limit that risk. Mayfield will likely always be a guy who plays quite a bit outside the pocket. -

This article, among many others, make it sound like the Giants are looking at Darnold and the 3 top non-QB prospects in this draft. If they are set on one one of those 3 non-QB prospects, the Bill strading up to #6, and from there to #2 would make perfect sense. In that scenario, QBs go off the board 1, 2 & 3. So the Giants are guaranteed to get one of their top 3 prospects (Barkley, Nelson, Chubb). It aounds like the Colts are willing to move down again. This could be our path to the #2 pick. Something else I've been thinking about - depending on how highly the Giants have these top QBs rated they may not want one going to the Jets. Maybe they really don't want to see Rosen in Jets green, making a trade back from #2 even more enticing... -
Hi QB's - Visiting Buffalo today and tomorrow!
BillsFan4 replied to K D's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Thanks Yolo. Ill be interested to see if they bring in Darnold. Id think if they feel they have any real shot at him, they'll probably bring him in for a visit. This was what I was wondering as well, if they don't have him in for a visit. Maybe they know the Browns are taking him. -
Lol. I just find it odd that people use that as a knock against Rosen and not Mayfield. Mayfield's style could easily lead to as many concussions as Rosen's. In fact, just build a good pass protecting o line around Rosen and you won't have to worry about it as much. Where as Mayfield's play style will probably always put him at some risk of taking big hits.

Josh Rosen please! Hope Beane/McDermott fall in love with the kid. Out of curiosity, does anyone know if they're having Darnold in for a visit? I haven't seen anything about it. -
Mayfield has also had at least 2 concussions in College that I know of. http://newsok.com/article/5470271 I read he's also had at least 1 concussion in high school too (Mayfield said so himself).

Rosen is definitely the QB I want the most. I think he easily has the potential to be the best QB in this draft. I think he's the type of QB that has a good chance of turning a team into a playoff contender year in and year out (and even a SB contender in the right situation). I can't really remember ever feeling the Bills had a legitimate chance at a QB the caliber of Rosen before. I am all for doing what it take to get to #2 and draft this kid! It would be a nightmare (for me) to see him go to the NY Jets. I don't want the Bills to have to play against him in the AFC east.

Best bar in Buffalo to watch the draft
BillsFan4 replied to Seanbillsfan2206's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Downtown really isn't bad. You are not not going to be near the east side or anything. Just stay at one one of the hotels near canalside. It's very nice down there. You'll be close enough to get to riverworks or 716, or Faso's or any numbers of the bars and restaurants in the area (just google bars near canal side). Here are some hotels in the area - https://www.tripadvisor.com/HotelsNear-g60974-d2233218-Canalside-Buffalo_New_York.html -
Sabres & NHL 2017-18 - Entry Draft on June 22
BillsFan4 replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Frustrating end to a frustarting season... If they had played with the desperation they did in the 3rd period, they'd have won (which was the case way too often this year). Anyone else listen to Josh Gorges post game interview? I feel for the guy. You could hear him tearing up on the radio. Sounds like he thinks this was his last game. Hope he gets an opportunity to play somewhere next season (if he wants it). -
Sabres & NHL 2017-18 - Entry Draft on June 22

Murray tried to build an LA style, western conference team for sure. If you look at the Sabres record the previous 2 years (not in lauding this season, because I haven't checked) they actually did do well against the western conference. And ultimately You do have to beat a western conference team to win a Cup. The problem is that you have to go through 3 eastern conference teams in the playoffs to get there, and even more during the regular season to make the playoffs in the first place. Our record againat the east the past 2 seasons (prior to this year) was not good. They struggled against the east far more than against the west. The east has been trending toward speed and skill for years now (IMO it started long before Murray began building this team) and we just didn't match up well against those types of teams. I have argued with many Sabres fans about this point. It seems like many fans wanted Botterill to come in and make a bunch of huge changes right away. Me personally, I'm glad he didn't. IMO it would have been reckless if he did that. I'd MUCH rather him have taken this year to evaluate and see what he has. I feel that is the smart approach. It's exactly what Brendan Shanahan did in Toronto. He took an entire year to evaluate. Even though their season went down the crapper and many were calling for drastic action, he didn't make a bunch of rash decisions. He sat back and evaluated. Then made the big moves once he had a good handle on what the true problems were. Toronto didn't go scorched earth rebuild. They made some key changes and it has worked very well for them (although a big part of that was bringing in one of the top coaches in the NHL who changed that culture immediately). I am cautiously optimistic about Botterill so far and anxious to see what he does this offseason. -
I don't know. I think that could be the nightmare scenario for the Bills if the rumors are true about the only QB the Giants want is Darnold. If true, and the Browns pick Allen, the Giants wouldn't trade that pick and we'd see QBs go off the board 1, 2, 3 and possibly 5 which would leave the Bills shut out of any of the top 4 QBs (unless the Browns are willing to trade #4 which seems unlikely at this point).

Mason Rudolph to Have Pre-Draft Visit With the Bills
BillsFan4 replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'd actually be more worried if they Didn't have him in for a visit. I want them to do their due dilligence on every QB in this draft. -
I'm not too crazy about asking RI to take a pay cut either. He already left money on the table to re-sign in Buffalo a couple years ago. And he is still our our best offensive lineman even if he is near the end of his career. In the end, i just hope it doesn't mean this is his last year in a Bills uniform. I'd really like to see him finish his career here at this point. Plus As of now we have absolutely nobody on the roster to even come close to replacing his play at LG (doesn't mean we can't find someone, but finding someone who plays at RI's level will be tough).

Sabres & NHL 2017-18 - Entry Draft on June 22
BillsFan4 replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in Off the Wall Archives
im starting to do a dangerous thing... dream about Dahlin in a Sabres jersey. Please hockey gods, let Buffalo win the draft lottery! Remember to pick your jaw up off the floor after watching these highlights... lol -
Not at all. Buffalo is in a much better position to land one of the top QBs in the draft than New England is. Both of our 1st round picks are higher than the Pats (one is much higher). If it's true the Bills couldn't get a team to fall back to #21 and #22, then the Pats are going to have even more trouble getting a team to fall back to #23 and #31... Plus we have more draft capital in general. I don't see much possibility that they could beat out the Bills in a trade up if both teams were actually serious about doing so. I dont see the Patriots actually trying to trade to the top of the draft anyway. If anything maybe they try and trade into the teens somewhere to grab a QB (but chances are they'll just use 1 pick on a QB and groom him like they did Garoppolo).
-
I'm not sure I'd theyre being groomed to take over, but yes he has 2 sons on his coaching staff. IIRC one coaches safeties and the other is some type of defensive assistant.

Farewell, Joe Webb (Signs with Texans)
BillsFan4 replied to Roundybout's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Good luck in Houston Joe! Makes sense though. If the Bills carry 3 QBs it will be Mccarron, Peterman and a rookie. And If they do decide to carry 4, it would probably be 2 rookie QBs (one drafted and one undrafted, or maybe they draft 2) plus Aj & Nate. -

Well... we finished last. Again. All there is to do now is wait for the inevitable draft lottery loss. Again. I wish I could say I was happy to have the best shot at Dahlin but This year feels nothing like the Eichel draft year. Chances are high we don't pick 1st or even 2nd. And now we get the added stipulation to be the first ever team to finish 31st... yay... Brutal season. -

Svechnikov would definitely be nice. The top of this draft looks very promising. If we end up in the #2 spot and miss out on Dahlin, it might be hard to pass on a guy like Svechnikov or Zadina (or even Tkachuk). You can't reach for a defenseman just because of need. You have to go Best player available IMO. There are a lot of very enticing defensive prospects in this draft though. Dahlin, Boqvist, Bouchard, Dobson, Hughes could all go top 10-15, with Smith, Merkley, Wilde possibly in the top 15-20 (or at least the 1st round). This looks like a great year to grab a defenseman. I'm sure a few will fall and maybe you can grab one with our top 2 pick in the 2nd, or even trade back up into the 1st.
