  1. I was just coming to post this. Great story. It finally gives some clarification on what happened that day at his “retirement” press conference:
  2. I have never once gushed about Nathan Peterman, this year or last, and I never said the Indy game is a true measure. I am not sure how you gathered that from what I posted. I wasn’t saying that he should start over Josh Allen, either. I thought we were talking about his potential to be our long term backup (which is why I made the comment that I hadn’t written him off as our backup...) My entire point was that for me, it’s way too soon to say what Peterman is one way or the other. He has played what, maybe the equivalent of 1 regular season NFL game at most? 49 total pass attempts... Outside of that, we have only seen him in a handful of preseason games. That is nowhere near enough of a sample size for me to say what Nathan Peterman is. I would say that is a reasonable stance to take. It sure seems a lot more reasonable than having my mind 100% made up on him after a tiny sample size. Just because i said that I haven’t made my mind up on NP yet and said he rebounded nicely from that disaster of an LA game doesn’t mean I am some big NP fanboy.
  3. This is a good reminder that we fans don’t know what goes on behind the scenes. We complain at times because we think Beane didn’t address a certain position on the roster well enough, but we have no idea who he may have tried to sign. For all we know, he may have struck out on the guys he felt were a good fit and decided it was better to wait than to someone just for the sake of it, and that’s why a position wasn’t filled with the type of upgrade/depth we’d hope for.
  4. It’s reasonable to assume we know exactly what Nathan Peterman is after all of 49 total pass attempts in NFL game action? Im not saying he might not be worse than the QBs you mentioned. All I’m saying is that we don’t know yet. We haven’t watched nearly enough of him to know what he is. He was thrown into less than ideal circumstances in that LA game. Their D line just ate our O line alive. I’m not going to just assume NP sucks because he struggled (badly) under those circumstances. I thought he rebounded and played well in that Indy game before he left with the injury. And ive thought he’s looked pretty good so far this preseason. I just think it’s way too early to write Peterman off as our backup QB. You may be totally right that he’s JAG. But we simply don’t know yet. At least IMO anyway.
  5. Good stuff 26. I still feel that in the years to come Mittelstadt may prove to be a top 4 player from that draft. Maybe even top 2. I am getting really excited for this season! Here is is a similar breakdown of Rasmus Dahlin, for those who missed it before the draft (and have an athletic subscription) - https://theathletic.com/322529/2018/04/23/breaking-down-rasmus-dahlin-the-makings-of-a-generational-talent-and-first-overall-lock/
  6. I have not lost any interest at all in watching the Bills. But yeah, I don’t watch quite as many other NFL games as I used to. I still watch a good amount of NFL football, though. For me, it’s something that has bene slowly happening for years. It started with all the rule changes. Now it’s to the point that you can’t even celebrate a play when it happens, anymore. You have to wait to see if there was a flag. It’s taken some of the excitement out of the game IMO.
  7. Unless I am missing something, his tweet is saying something completely different than his article. Talk about a misleading headline to generate clicks... Then goes on to say -
  8. It has been really interesting getting to watch ‘Hard Knocks’ on Tuesday and then ‘Buffalo Bills:Embedded’ the following day. Getting to compare the 2 side by side, I could not be happier that Buffalo has the coaching staff we do. It makes me feel very lucky. For too many years Buffalo would have been that disfunctional browns team/staff that we are seeing on Hard Knocks. I also have to say... I kind of feel like an idiot for ever wishing we had hired Hue Jackson.... lol.
  9. I feel for the guy. Hope he is able to continue his career. My sister has an auto immune disease. A close friend does as well. It can be a difficult thing to deal with.
  10. Very impressive! This coaching staff + front office, and just the team in general, have a different feel than years past. although the bar isn’t very high, in that regard...lol. It is so, so nice to have a competent front office and coaching staff that I actually have faith in. It’s been so long that I almost forgot what it feels like... I really do feel like they are building toward something special. Also, shout out to Kyle Williams. He really is thr heart and soul of this team. I am almost always inspired listening to him talk. I am so happy he came back for another season. He is an invaluable resource to not only the rookies, but the vets too. I absolutely love this bills embedded series. I just wish the episodes were longer than 15 minutes. I’ve been looking forward to it all week and it’s already over with. I really hope they do something like this for the Sabres, too.
  11. I can’t really say I’ve seen enough of him to know either way. Hopefully we will get a better idea of where he’s at this Sunday. If he’s running with the 1’s or 2’s this Sunday, I’d say his chances are looking ok to make the roster. If he’s with the 3’s, and then plays late into preseason game 4, then I’d guess his chances aren’t as good. Personally, if he’s buying in, has a good attitude and working hard, I’d like to keep him around. He has the talent to be a good NFL WR.
  12. This episode made me hate Jarvis Landry even more than I already did. He seems very thin skinned. Hearing him unapologetically talk about that hit on the sideline confirmed what we all already knew - his “sorries” after those dirty hits of his are nothing but lip service. It’s his MO. He said the same BS after the Aaron Williams hit, and after he laid out Patrick Chung with that viscous head shot. I didn’t think thr Johnson hit was nearly as dirty as some of his hits in the past. But it still left a bad taste in my mouth. That episode also, IMO, made it Very clear that this coaching staff is not even close to being on the same page. Haley and Hue seem at odds. Haley and Greggo seem at odds. They almost give the impression they are working against each other at time. I also also had to LOL at the whole “the Browns are about to make a meteoric rise” theme of this hard Knocks episode... I just don’t see it. But I hope I am wrong for Browns fans sake.
  13. Thanks for sharing this! Its nice to see some (more) of the national media noticing how impressive Sean McDermott is. Thats an ex-player saying (some of) those things, too. He’s been in NFL locker rooms and knows how players talk/think. So his words carry some weight on this subject IMO.
  14. I am currently very much enjoying my subscription to the Athletic and the Buffalo news. I decided to try both for a year to see if either was worth the price. So far, I would have to say that they both are. Both have their merits/benefits. If you are looking for strictly Buffalo sports coverage, then the Buffalo News is the better choice. If you want a wide variety of sports content, then the Athletic is the choice. Personally, I like having both. For those basing their opinion of the Buffalo News on the past (like I was), I have to say I have noticed some great changes. I would recommend giving them a chance with an open mind. I know I have been pleasantly surprised.
  15. Definitely seems like a funny dude, and someone who would be fun to have at a party.
  16. Wow. That is legitimately scary. I hope something is done to help him (and protect others) but I am not sure what can be done if he doesn’t want help. I don’t even think they can prevent him from going to buy more guns, even if they are somehow able to keep the guns he currently owns (though, for all we know he could have more at home, anyway). Maybe/hopefully they will be able to give him some type of court mandated treatment, with these most recent charges? This all kind of seems like a really sad story just waiting to happen, although I pray I am completely wrong.
  17. That was my thought as well. This doesn’t seem like just some camp leg type signing.
  18. That is good to hear. I don’t know how long they can keep them, though? Do they have to give him back as soon as he is released? although I am not sure how much it really matters if he is set on doing something with them. I am sure he would have zero issue just going to buy more in Arizona if he truly wants to. Hopefully he is not seriously thinking of using a gun anyway, and there’s nothing to worry about in that regard.
  19. Man, this has been so sad to see Richie just melting down this offseason. I really hope he gets the help he so clearly needs. Even scarier that he is driving around with multiple guns in his trunk while in this mental state.
  20. I am just the opposite. I’d much rather people embed the links and be able to view the info all right here, rather than have to waste my time clicking on each individual link and then waiting for each one to load separately. I’d rather it just take a few extra seconds to load the page and be able to see it all right here.
  21. http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-network-total-access/0ap3000000927196/Soul-Science-How-fast-can-Josh-Allen-throw hmm... interesting. That’s the first time I’ve heard that about Allen. Soul & science measured his release at 38 hundredths of a second, which they said is on par with Tom Brady and IIRC also one of the faster release times measured. Later in the video they also measure his throwing motion on the run. They said 2/3rds if his throwing motion (on the run) took only 25 hundredths of a second.
