  1. That play wa son Allen. He has time to throw and Murphy was WIDE open. Bad throw by Josh.
  2. O line is terrible. Punter isnt looking good today either, and it’s not like there’s even a strong wind.
  3. It’s going to be another long Sunday... and an an even longer season, I suspect.
  4. O-line did not look great on that series. They didn’t look good trying to run block. But hey, at least they didn’t look good in pass protection, either! LOL
  5. All you people that hopped off the bandwagon after 1 bad game - just remember that, if/when this thing gets turned around in the coming years... no pretending that you believed in these guys if/when that time comes. Oh, and BTW - Before he was hired, Sean McDermott had a top 10 defense 4 of the previous 5 years in Carolina. 1 year they were #2, and another they were #6and a Huge part of the reason that Carolina went 15-1 and appeared in the Super Bowl. McDermott spent 8 years as a DC and almost 20 as a coach. He earned his way up from a scouting role and assistant to the head coach. Same with Beane. He has almost 20 years of NFL experience in almost all aspects of running an NFL team. He started in communications, earned promotion after promotion working his way all the way up to assistant GM before earining his shot in Buffalo. There have been head coaches hired this offseason that hardly even had any experience as playcallers, like Matt Nagy (one half season calling plays), Steve Wilks (1 season calling plays) and Mike Vrabel (1 season calling plays). And, last thing I’ll mention - if Josh Allen works out, It will be considered an absolutely brilliant move by Brandon Beane. He got all the way from the #21 pick to the #7 pick without giving up the Bills extra 1st this year (#22), or a 1st next year. Then he was able to trade up again and get the guy that will hopefully be the QB of the defense for the next decade+. Both in the same draft...
  6. 100% agree with everything you said.
  7. Columbus is streaming momday’s game on bluejackets.com. I am not sure if it’s only for in-market or not, but even if it is there should be a way to watch it. Hopefully the Sabres will just pick up the stream, like NJ did with the prospects game. Everyone feel free to contact the Sabres and recommend they do....
  8. It was only a matter of time until they made a policy against it. I’m actually surprised they didn’t do it sooner.
  9. No! Not San Jose! lol I know their 1st next year isn’t going to be all that high. But I was at least hoping for a 1st round playoff exit so we could get a pick in that 16-20ish range. At at first glance, the return doesn’t seem all that amazing. But I am unsure of who some of those prospects even are. a 2019 or 2020 1st round pick? So I wonder how they decide if Buffalo,or Ottawa get the 2019 1st? Edit - condition are, if Sn Jose misses the playoffs in 2019 Ottawa gets their (2019) 1st. If SJ makes the playoffs, Buffalo gets their 2019 1st and Ottawa gets their 2020 1st.
  10. Agree on Incognito. Also liked hearing about Botterill. It definitely shows the type of person he is. I feel for Lehner and hope these changes are permanent. One thing ing that I keep thinking about though - When Lehner gave that timeline, saying the heavy drinking + drug use and mental health issues all go back at least 7 years.... how did Tim Murray not know this before trading for him? He was there with him in Ottawa and Binghamton.
  11. You are right. That’s what I said. But also notice the “or from a discussion with” part. I guess i could have been more clear on what I meant. I wasn’t saying that they directed/forced him to write that article, as you seemed to imply. I was saying that maybe they called him up and discussed their thinking with him in order to help get their message out to the fans. Or maybe he wrote the article because of a conversation he had with them. Stuff like that happens all the ime. All I meant is that the way the article was written, it seemed to me that some of the info may have come from a Bills source.
  12. Agreed. I think they are far from clueless, and I think they have a clear plan + vision for this team (which is more than I can say for most of the previous regimes). I know that many around here really seem to have turned on them after last Sunday. But I am still a big fan of McDermott. This year was was always going to be a struggle, with the crazy amount of dead cap space and likely struggles of a rookie QB. I have high hopes for the future, though.
  13. Never said he did. I was just saying that it sounds like he had a conversation with McDermott or Beane, where they explained their thinking on this season and some of the decisions they’ve made.
  14. I feel like Some of the stuff in that article clearly came at the direction of, or from a discussion with, Beane and/or McDermott. Albert Breer is saying what Beane and McDermott can’t say publicly.
  15. I was just coming to post this. Wow is right! It explains so much. I am glad he is getting the help he needed.
  16. On the offensive vs defensive coach argument - https://www.nj.com/giants/index.ssf/2018/01/do_offensive_or_defensive_head_coaches_have_more_s_1.html
  17. Man, some of these reactions to McDermott’s press conference are wild. I honestly feel like I watched a different press conference than some of you did. People really see what they want to see, I guess...
  18. That was an awesome read. Thanks for sharing. I guess Housley and Botterill told him at the year end meetings that they needed him to become a leader on this team. It sounds like he may have really took that message to heart.
  19. This was the only choice there was to make. The Bills brass put themselves in this position. If they truly wanted to keep Josh off the field to start the season, they did an absolutely terrible job of that. Now I just hope beyond hope that Josh looks ok out there... I don’t expect him to be great by any means. As long as he doesn’t look like he’s drowning, I will be happy. That is my biggest fear - what if Josh looks like he’s drowning out there? Then what? This is was the right choice, though. Nate looked like a deer in the headlights every time they showed a close up. He looked wide eyed and almost scared. He looked in way over his head. The entire offense got s spark when Allen came in. You could see the change quite clearly. These guys better go out there and ball out for Allen on Sunday. Every one of them should be doing everything they can to help their rookie QB (which wasn’t the case for Nate). I want to see 100% effort by everyone in every play. I’d they don’t do everything in their power to help Allen, they deserve to be cut.
  20. The owner said he tried everything he could to keep Yzerman (which is rumored to possibly have included a bigger ownership stake in the team), so I don’t think that was it. I do think that factored into Yzerman’s decision to step down now, though. Yeah, for sure. I also think his family factors in. They’ve continued to live in Detriot the entire 8-9 years Yzerman has been Tampa’s GM.
