Rochester Weatherman fired for MLK slur
BillsFan4 replied to stuvian's topic in Off the Wall Archives
At first it kind of caught me off guard a bit, reading what he said. But watching the interview on CNN and the video he posted to Facebook, I think he sounded very sincere in his apology. I dont know anything thing about this guy though. This is the first time I’ve ever even heard his name. -
It’s nice to know Buffalo at least stands a chance at landing a hot coaching candidate, with the Pegulas willing to pay top dollar to bring in position coaches (they reportedly offer/pay some of their coaches among the highest salaries in the NFL (and NHL)). I don’t know if we will land him or not. But I do know that In years past, we’d stand zero chance because they wouldn’t have been willing to pay a competitive salary.

Finally installed my copy (85 GB. Holy ****!). I am in chapter 2. There was definitely a bit of a learning curve at first. They’ve added a lot of new things since RDR1. So far I’m loving it.

Good! Get ‘er done! I was kind of figuring Buffalo would use that time off during the all star break to start working out a deal with Skinner. Hopefully they can get it done sooner rather than later. Somewhere in the $8’s sounds about right to me (I think $8M x 7 sounds fair). In the $7’s would be even better but I think that ship sailed long ago... Anything in the $9+ range and I’m hesitant. I’m hopeful that living/playing near his family will be a factor in his decision and he will want to work out a fair deal with buffalo and not just go looking for the biggest payday no matter where it comes from.

Cincinnati Bengals: HC Marvin Lewis fired

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zac_Taylor Not a whole lot of experience. But he worked with Sean McVay for 2 years, so.... lol. Itll definitely be interesting to see how he does, if he’s hired. -
https://wgr550.radio.com/articles/news/sabres-skinner-looks-forward-his-return-carolina Eichel was back at practice and says he’s “100%”. Housley says he will be a game time decision (tomorrow). He was back centering the #1 line, so I am guessing he will play. Lines - Skinner - Eichel - Thompson Sheary - Sobotka - Reinhart Rodrigues - Larsson - Okposo Girgensons - Mittelstadt - Pominville

Damn, I was hopeful the Bills could land him. The more reading I did on KA, the more I liked him. Oh well. There’s still some good candidates out there. Sucks losing out on 2 coaches to Bruce Arians today. But there’s no shame in that. He’s a very good and well respected long time NFL coach. And hey, at least it speaks highly of McDermott’s (interview) choices to fill his coaching staff vacancies.

I think the NYJ priority was to bring in someone they felt would help develop Darnold. Before he went to Miami, Gase had an excellent rep as a guy you wanted working with your QB. Sometimes you do do better with your 2nd chance. Time will tell if he does. I really thought Mike McCarthy would end up in NY though. I thought they’d go with a more experienced veteran HC. Really, the guy I thought they should have went after is Dabo Swinney. IMO they need a guy that can come in and truly build a better culture in that building and I think that’s something Swinney excels at. Gase talks about bout building a culture a lot, but wasn’t able to accomplish it in Miami. Not really sure where the fault lies with that. Miami seems like a mess from ownership on down. The Jets seem somewhat similar in that regard, though think it has definitely been better with Chris Johnson than it was with Woody...

Anyone with some positives dealing with the Big C?

My grandfather beat stage 4 lung cancer in the early ‘70’s. Back then cancer treatments were nowhere near as good as they are today. They had to remove 1 entire lung and gave him about 2yrs to live afterwards. He ended up living for 25+ years. My great grandma had breast cancer (again, way back in the day). She had to have a breast removed and wasn’t given too long (again, back then rates of survival were much lower) but ended up living into her 90’s. More recently my cousin’s wife had cervical cancer. I want to say it was a later stage 3. She just had her 10yr check up and is still cancer free. About that same time my best friend’s dad was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer in both lungs. He was also given a low survival rate. Had to have the top 1/2of both lungs removed and is still currently cancer free. He gets winded easy but other than that he’s doing well. Another friend’s dad just recently (within the last couple years) finished treatment for some type of cancer in his neck. He is cancer free and doing great. My boss recently has to have some cancerous growths removed and is doing well. Another good old friend of mine has had cancer 2-3 separate times now. I can’t remember exactly what the first type was. He was only in his early 20’s the first time, so it was a while ago. Most recently he had stomach cancer. I believe he just finished his treatments within the last month or two and is doing well. I know a few more friends and family member that have dealt with some type of cancer and made full recoveries. All the best to you! You will be in my thoughts and prayers. -
I am planning to attend as of now. I went to the last one (in ‘99) and it was an absolute blast. It was one of the best experiences of my life. Oh man, the stories I could tell... I figured there wouldn’t be another one for a long time because of the riots/looting/fires (etc), but always said if they did have another one I’d go for sure. One nice thing about going this time - I may actually be able to remember the entire weekend... you know, being 20yrs older and all. The partying definitely won’t be at 1999 levels that’s for sure. I don’t know if I’d survive another ‘99 style Woodstock weekend. lol

I’ll be very interested to see what type of staff he is able to assemble. I don’t know how extensive his network of contacts is at the NFL level. More often than not, NFL head coaches have had some type of experience at the NFL level before being hired as a HC, and therefore have usually developed some type of network of contacts at the NFL level. I wonder if Kingsbury might have to rely more on trying to pull his assistants from the college coaching ranks (but even there, he’s only worked for a couple teams - Houston, Texas Tech and USC for like 2 seconds).

Thank you. Question - I’ve read some places that say you should do a totally clean install when switching to a totally new version (like from Jarvis to Krypton/Leia). Do I need to do that? And how do I do that? I should probably update to Leia right? I bought mine this way so I’m not exactly familiar with how to do this stuff. Can I do it right on the fire stick? I have never had it hooked up to a computer and don’t even know how. Also, will updating Kodi automatically update my add-ones etc? Or do I have to update them 1 by 1? And if so, how do I do that? I’m just scared to screw it up (not that it matters I guess, since it isn’t working anyway). Sorry for all the questions. Don’t worry about it if you don’t have the time to answer.

No. They are always 100% free on reddit. You don’t have to enter any info at all. Just find the link to the game you want to watch and click on it. Thr only thing you may have to do is close a tricky pop-up ad or two (they tend to have more than 1 ‘X’ to close them) before you are able to start watching.

Yeah that was a beauty by Mitts. He has some great hands. He did a good job following through on his rebound. As pretty as that goal was, I think my favorite part was seeing Dahlin’s reaction/celebration. He was just so genuinely happy for his roomie. I love to see these young guys, that are the future of our team, forming such tight bonds.
