  1. Nice! He’s definitely earned it. Both guys I was hoping to see have been called up now. At least it helps give me a reason to watch these last 6 games.
  2. What works the best for me is as soon as I start to feel a cold coming on I take a big dose (usually 2000mg) of a good quality Vitamin C supplement (like the vitamin shoppe brand capsules). It doesn’t always work, but it usually always at least helps. Sometimes it has even prevented me from getting a full blown cold. I also like to take Zinc when I feel like I’m getting sick. I believe it is supposed to help boost your immune system. Forgot to mention garlic. It has some natural antibiotic properties and it’s good for blood pressure too (careful if you’re on a high blood pressure medicine). I like the Kyolic Garlic supplements. Better/more potent. All 3 combined usually help knock out a cold pretty quick for me. Sometimes I will also take Vitamin C and Zinc during flu season when I know I’ll be somewhere that I have a higher chance of being exposed to colds/flus (like crowded subways/public places or doctors office etc). I don’t know if it works, but I don’t get sick very often, so maybe it does? lol
  3. Among the many things the Sabres need, they are desperate for some Real veteran leadership, not just washed up vets no longer able to perform on the ice (that no one is going to follow). We need a Chris Drury type that can come in and actually command the respect of the entire locker room, including Eichel. The problem is, a Drury type isn’t all that easy to find. Maybe instead they need a top tier veteran head coach that can come in and truly change the culture. Like a Babcock or a Trotz. But again, those guys aren’t that easy to find. And even if they find/hire one, they are still going to need leadership on the players end. We clearly don’t have the veteran leadership in place right now to keep these kids in check and call them out when they continually make the same mistakes or don’t work hard enough. The entire time Eichel has been a Sabre, there has never been a player that can put him in his place. He’s been given pretty much free run of the team since day 1, and he wasn’t/isn’t always the most consistently hard working player from shift to shift himself. IMO the Sabres tore it down too far, too fast. They didn’t leave any trace of veteran leadership in place for the rebuild. They completely destroyed any semblance of a winning culture that they ever had. Again IMO, If they were going to tear it down that far they should have at least left Lindy in place (and maybe someone like Pominville - a guy who was actually willing to stay through the rebuild). I think toward the end Lindy sometimes had the tendency to stifle the development of young players. But in a rebuild he would’ve had no choice but to embrace the youth, and at least he would have kept a culture of accountability in place... At least Darcy and Lindy had built a team culture where they were clearly in charge. Even a face of the franchise like Ryan Miller knew that he had to listen to Lindy or he wouldn’t be playing (and he said as much in interviews). We are at the point where you now hear other GMs around the league using buffalo as a cautionary tale as to why not to strip your team down too far. I am not really sure how you even dig out of this hole anymore. It’s not as easy to turn over a roster in the NHL as it is in the NFL. Unfortunately, I don’t see many quick fixes. It’s getting harder and harder to maintain hope. The Sabres just look lightyears behind all of the best NHL teams and I don’t see any way we catch up any time soon. But at this point I’ll at least take respectability.
  4. I’m curious myself. This hire and the Bengals hire are the 2 I was/am most skeptical over.
  5. Lol! I guess some people really are freaking out over this - http://arizonasports.com/story/1890629/people-are-very-upset-kliff-kingsbury-will-allow-cardinals-cellphone-breaks/
  6. Retired. But don't worry everyone. I am sure more washed up wide receivers with recognizable names Will be released before the season starts. So i’m sure there’s still plenty of pining left to do! lol (j/k)

  8. Yeah, that’s what we thought happened, but now we have new information and that was actually not the case at all. Listen to the audio that Antonio Brown released yesterday. Here are the quotes from it: https://wgr550.radio.com/articles/news/antonio-brown-bills-dont-even-waste-time If you listen to more of the audio, it’s very clear tha5 this conversation happened well before he was traded to Oakland. And then Pegula said this at the NFL owner’s meeting yesterday -
  9. I would be all for adding Gerald McCoy. He would fill a position of need and is a great fit, culture wise. Plus he’s still a hell of a player. I have been a big fan of his ever since I watched him on Hard Knocks. Love his personality. Seems like a genuinely good person, too. He does a lot for charities and the Tampa community.
  10. I just listened to the audio recording between AB and his agent. The recording is clearly from before any trade happened. Also saw where Pegula said it was Ab’s decision. So, it seems pretty clear now that AB isnt just throwing some temper tantrum about the Bills not meeting his contract demands. He didn’t want to come to Buffalo and it never even got as far as talking money. His agent shut it down before it got that far. It is what it is though. After many years of Buffalo fandom, I have fully accepted the fact that not every player wants to live/play here, especially a super star diva personality type like AB. Buffalo just isn’t a good match for a player with a personality like AB’s IMO. I honestly do not care though and think we are most likely better off (and I’m not just saying that). I just don’t think AB and the Bills were a good match. Too much potential for things to go wrong.
  11. Nice! This is one of the 2 players I was hoping to see before the year was over. Olofsson is the other.
  12. Fully agree. He really seems to be coming into his own as a head coach. I am excited to see what this year brings!
  13. I have noticed that he seems much more comfortable in front of a camera so far this offseason.
  14. Honestly.... that’s a good question. I was surprised to see it myself. The only reason I can think of is that I know he is very well respected in NHL circles. or maybe others turned it down? Also, the WHC starts near the end of April and the NHL playoffs will still be going on then, so that eliminates a lot of the top tier GMs that have really good teams right now. They had to pick someone who’s team wasn’t going to be playing. I guess they felt Botterill was the best canadien born GM of the bunch.
  15. Bogosian day to day with an injury I actually don’t mind the line combinations for a change. I really hope he keeps Reinhart off the Eichel line for the rest of the year. I like Sam so much better driving the play on his own line. Plus it gives the Sabres 2 lines that can score. They are just not a deep enough team to have all 3 of their top scorers on 1 line.
  16. I don’t know if they will move up from pick #9, but I fully expect them to move around in the draft. I would be more shocked if they picked at all of their original spots. In both drafts since McDermott and Beane got here, we have yet to pick at our original spot in the 1st and rarely picked at our original spot in the 2nd and 3rd. They have shown a real willingness to move around the draft board as well as trade up for players they like. So it wouldn’t really surprise me if they traded up from #9. But I wouldn’t be surprised to see them trade down from #9 either. Your guess is as good as mine (as to what they’ll do)! lol
  17. Bargain deal compared to the $17M per year he was supposedly looking for? Yes, I’d agree. But a bargain deal overall? I definitely wouldn’t call it that. (IMO anyway) He has the 2nd highest RB contract/cap hit in the NFL, and the most fully guaranteed money (at the time of signing) of any RB. His cap hit is a reasonable $8.5M this year, but after that it’s - $15.5M in 2020 $13.5M in 2021 $15.5M in 2022 Thats not exactly what I’d call a bargain deal.
  18. https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2019/03/25/brandon-beane-bills-were-never-even-close-to-a-deal-with-antonio-brown/?unapproved=6730168&moderation-hash=73d82cf134d2cd310e903ca8c21fbb11#comment-6730168 here is the full interview (it’s the video at the top of the article)
  19. Yeah I figure that they have at least 1 recall left, maybe 2 if Pilut was called up due to injury. I thought it looked like Bogo was possibly playing through some pain in the 3rd, which is why I thought Pilut may be an injury recall. Agreed that it really doesn’t matter though. The main reason I was wondering how many callups they have left is that I am still holding out hope to see someone like Olofsson get a look before the season is over. I am also guessing the O’Regan callup was on an emergency basis. Seems stupid to waste 1 of your 4 callups to have him up for 24hrs. Edit - I just went and checked the Sabres twitter feed just out of curiosity. Looks like Bogo did miss practice today, which is why Pilut was called up. So it’s almost definitely an emergency recall. But I wouldn’t be surprised if Bogo isn’t ready to play tomorrow.
  20. Losing Gronk is definitely a blow to the Patsies. But, unfortunately, since they still have Belichick and Brady I fully expect them to adapt and hardly miss a beat. Ive heard way too many times now that the Pats were going to struggle after losing (fill in the blank) and it has yet to really happen. So I’ll believe it when I see it at this point. It does have to happen eventually though. I’d love for this to be the year it does, but I’m not holding my breath.
  21. sounds like the patriots were kind of expecting him back this season. Im glad Gronk at least waited for the first wave of free agency to be over before announcing it.
  22. https://thehockeynews.com/news/article/dahlin-passes-orr-marking-major-milestone-in-18-year-old-sabres-rookies-superb-season Pretty damn impressive, in my opinion.
  23. I wonder if Bogosian is injured? Curious to see if this is considered an emergency recall. NHL teams are only allowed 4 regular recalls after the trade deadline. So if Pilut counts, he is either recall #3 or 4. - Nylander was one (even if he was initially called up because of eichel’s absense, they’d have to use a regular recall to keep him up after Eichel came back). - Tage Thompson was #2 (sent down at deadline to be eligible for AHL playoffs, and had to be recalled). - Danny O’Regan was called up on Feb. 26th and sent down on Feb. 27th. I have no idea if it counted as 1 of the 4 recalls though.
