  1. I understand, some folks are beyond convincing. High draft picks are developed and pressed into action at a faster pace more now then they where 10 years ago IMO. Make plays or the next guy will. Taking 3 seasons for the light switch to turn on might get you traded in this day and age in my humble opinion.
  2. Its easy enough to link research material. Show how you came to this conclusion. I think its safe to say generally speaking a WR is going to show development/improvement from one season to the next provided you have some continuity at QB, OC, and supporting cast. So it doesn't surprise me If season 3's production is higher then an athletes rookie or 2nd season. On the other hand the game may have slowed down season 2 and the increase in production between rookie and 2nd season might be considered breakout IMO. Despite season 3 production being higher then season 2. I'm not disagreeing with you or Alpha...
  3. Absolutely, Josh Allen in all likelihood throws with the highest velocity in the NFL. Allen has a cannon and is not afraid to use it. Developing chemistry with Josh Allen is not an easy thing to do IMO. Its something both Foster and Jones have a good head start on and I'm expecting them to build on it. Fan of my fellow poster Alpha, I think being wrong about Zay Jones if it helps Josh Allen take the next step into becoming a franchise QB. It would be a big plate of crow the Dawgy would be happy to eat. ( Buffalo wing sauce)
  4. Fair enough, it is a dead horse. For the record I liked Flutie, but at the time was wanting Rob Johnson to start. So there's that...
  5. Thread kinda gives talking football X's and O's a whoke new meaning. Hugs for all... ...kisses for the Mrs...
  6. Do you seriously think Rob Johnson was the better QB? Should we have replaced J K with Reich because of what Kelly did the 3 previous Superbowls? No, of course not, you stick to what got you there. If there was such things as football gods and bad karma do you think benching the magic flute for surfer dude earned us any brownie points? Music City miracle should have never happened. One football god says to another " Buffalo doesn't deserve a good QB" Other football god snickers and says " Lets give them good CB's instead" I'm just saying... (Sorry OP for straying off topic)
  7. I think this is the point OP was trying to make. The somewhere in between doesn't get the job done. Facing teams like KC or the Pats in this day and age requires above average play from the QB position. Odds are without a good QB going deep into the playoffs are slim. Odds are winning a Championship requires going through arguably the best QB that every played the game in Tom Brady. Lots riding on the big shoulders of Josh Allen... ...One Buffalo Strong...
  8. Mcbeane lands a franchise QB after searching for almost 2 decades. Its a guy like Josh Allen who is already doing things as a rookie that makes you feel proud (both on and off the field). Yes Tipster, I'm feeling it. The team being built around him. The Coaching. The process. It does have a different feel...
  9. ....I think the city of Buffalo... and the entire Bills fan base.... is about ready to propose.... ...just sayin.........
  10. Its also not like Allen did anything statistical in the passing game to help matters. Nobody knows Josh Allen better then we the fans, his coaches and teamates. Flying under the radar is fine by me...
  11. With all due respect Fergy good Olines get that way by playing together so the only way I see this idea having any merit is if the whole unit can be changed at once. Even then you would have a drop off in protection. Good Oline is also costly...
  12. If I remember correctly, JK had made some comments awhile back expressing his interest in sharing a few thoughts with Allen. Sort of an ice breaker comment. Don't quote me on it though https://www.twobillsdrive.com/community/topic/213281-jim-kelly-wants-to-sit-down-with-josh-allen/
  13. Nor do I Lfod, watching one of the latest interviews with Simms I was intrigued with how easily Allen could give explanation for his minor adjustments and actions. To me Allen comes accross as a guy that will soak up everything around him good and bad then find ways to make improvement. A great example of the process.
  14. Myself personally, just as much can be learned from failure as success in many instances and throughout history we learn valuable lessons that should never be forgotten. Allot can be learned from 4 straight Superbowl losses in my humble opinion. If J K can give J A a few good pointers on what it took to go to 4 straight Superbowls, Allen is going to find a way to win. One Buffalo strong...
  15. I can understand your concern Gu On the other hand though Josh Allen is a very intelligent individual. I think at the end of the day Allen is going to make his own mind up on what works for him and what doesn't in my humble opinion. I also think what Kelly has to offer might prove beneficial in many instances IMO. Much like a veteran QB like Anderson, despite being away from the game for so long.
  16. Myself personally, Tom Brady aside from being arguably the best QB that ever played the game has had a very good string of luck when it comes to avoiding the kind of injuries that alone or through accumulation would end his historical career in the NFL. You can't escape father time or the Defense that is tailor made to beat you. We're coming for you Brady...
  17. Lack of continuity breeds losers, How different could it have been If Wade Philips stayed on as HC in Buffalo for the next decade? Marrone moves on and takes the Jags deeper into the playoffs then Buffalo has seen in over 2 decades. The Browns are another good example of a team that has been completely lacking in continuity. I'm not saying change is always a bad thing, but it means starting over again. Different systems need different players. Its a never ending process and clearly not ye kind of process HC McD has in mind. Good post, thanks.
  18. Mistakes have been made, but the regime rebounded nicely IMO, McD took the brunt of the blame on the chin. Neglecting the Oline is probably a mistake many young GM's learn the hard way on. Without Beane we may not have Allen. Something I think we will all be forever grateful. The Bills just had what looks to be another good draft, along with some nice work done via FA. Its all good Rocky...
  19. Hey Rocky, watch me pull a rabbit out of my hat We started the season with Peterman and ended with a more experienced Allen. ( Barkley as an upgrade at Backup). ...Rocky take off... ...better landing...
