    Outside of him, I think getting Allen guys who can separate is most important as he took his first significant developmental leap after getting Beasley & Brown who were at the time statistically 2 of the best separators at WR in the league. 

     

    No need to win a contested catch when the CB can’t stay with the WR for more than 2 seconds. 

    I'm real big on Jalin Hyatt in the 1st because not many DB's in the league can run with him IMO. 

     

    I also really want D Hop, but Hyatt would make the hurt go away real quick. Both?

    It might but there is also the real potential that he will be a misfit with Allen and in this offense because he's not great at separating/getting open.    He's not the same fit that a healthy OBJ would have been.......Hopkins is the contested catch king.   If that doesn't mesh with Allen........who is known for wanting to see his receivers open before throwing to them.........then there is a potential for a LeBron/Westbrook level misfit.    In that event,  the Bills should want to have a very low cost out after 2023.  So the idea of a re-worked long term contract should not be something in Beane's head, IMO.   

     The contested catch king at WR is exactly what Allen needs IMO. Normally TE plays the role, but Josh Allen loves him some WR.  BFF Diggs needs some competition on the football field to draw the heat.

    That's exactly why I don't think he's going to come here.  Other teams have more to offer than the Bills in a trade and if he's released, it will be the team that gives him the most $$$, just like OBJ.  He may say he wants to come here, but at the end of the day, he's going to go to the team that offers him the most $$$.  And that's not going to be us.

    Players that want to win a championship may think a little differently IMO. Contracts can be lucrative long term while being cap friendly short term IMO. 

    With their first pick of the draft WR makes the most sense for the Bills.

    3. Boston College Zay Flowers

    4. Ohio State Jaxon Smith-Njigba

     

    If there is any accuracy to this speculation then which one of them do you think or want the Bills to draft?

    Funny how everyone wants to forget about Jalin Hyatt despite having a top 30 visit to Buffalo.

     

    Hyatt tops the list for me...

    How about an innovative Offensive minded OC instead of a QB and QB coach as a substitute?

    You didn't hear one of them say anything like, "so it's not my fault," or "that's why we don't need to worry about it." There is no issue here with avoiding responsibility.

     McD not only took responsibility, HC McD made a big change taking a more hands on approach coaching the Bills Defense.

    Doesn't make sense to judge by one game. It just doesn't.

    If you asked me If the Buffalo Bills played as well as they are capable of playing vs Cinci /playoffs, my answer is absolutely not. Josh Allen had a bad day which is not normal for him in big games. 

     

    Ultimately though regardless of the circumstances someone needs to take responsibility for the poor play so I'll start at the top with Bills HC McD. Both Dorsey and Frazier were also out coached. Dorsey as a 1st year OC in the league has a reasonable excuse. Frazier, not so much and hes gone now.

    The Eagles last game was competitive and not a blow out.

     Ok, I'll bite. The Bills were out coached on both sides of the football vs Cinci/playoffs. Josh Allen played his worst game of the season. The Bills couldn't even get the right cleats on their feet in a home playoff game.  All when it mattered the most.

     

    Is that better for you?

If I ever had the chance to go there and be in that slot role and do something for them, wearing it out for sure,” Hyatt said at the NFL Scouting Combine. “Just seeing on film what he can do with his throwing ability I would open it up for him if that’s what they want me to do. If I have to move safeties for Diggs or Davis I will do that for sure whatever they want me to do but Josh Allen is one of the best quarterbacks in the league and if I ever got to experience that it would be fun.”

    McDermott hammers point about Allen running less and sliding. Says it MUST change next year...

    As I have said 3 times now in this thread I think you can help by reducing volume but this is not just about volume. It is as much about Josh protecting himself when he does run. And he is always going to because we know he calls his own number and we know he will do whatever it takes. Even if Josh were to only average 1 run a game in 2023 he has to get down or get out when he runs.... and I am not sure that will ever be him. He is always going to fight for every inch whether that means hurdling, stiff arming, diving.... it is just who he is.

    My hope is there can be a meeting of the minds somewhere in the middle.

    Its not about changing Allens competitive spirit. Its about giving Allen a game plan and play calling  more focused on getting the ball out of Allens fast so he's not having to take off running. Josh Allen has one of the best throwing arms the NFL has eveer seen. Some longevity in the league and for the Bills would be good for everyone. I'm not saying don't run when your in the 4th quarter and the games on the line. Or in playoff games.  I'm saying don't utilize Allen running the football as part of the game plan. 

     

    The more I see Josh running this coming up season. The more I think its time for a new OC...
