Around the NFL: Week 6 Sunday Game Thread
Figster replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think Tua Toga might be one heavily sought after individual when all is said and done this season. -
Mahomes is almost in a league all his own IMO. ( Despie 2 losses) Sharing it though right now with Russel Wilson.

I think thats a question the Bengals ownership, GM and Coaching staff need to answer Gu. Perhaps they should trade Green. One elite player does not make a good football team. What did Sammy Watkins do for Buffalo? What can Watkins do for KC? -

3rd round draft choices can absolutely have an imediate impact on a football team. I don't mean to down play the value of a 3rd with a good GM. Singletary and Ford are great examples IMO. WR position is a whole different beast Gu. Do you remember what it was like having Andre Reed, James Lofton, and Thurman Thomas running the football. Almost impossible to stop right? A J Green by way of example could be the New Era Lofton. I'm just saying... -

I get the age, injury concerns. On the other hand and I'll use Zay Jones by way of example. Buffalo spent 3 years on a 2nd round draft choice that never panned out to trade him for a 5th. Jones is not an exception to the rule. Even 1st round WR's are more miss then hit. When A J Green is healthy there is no miss and is still playing at the same elite level as he was throughout his career. Something I illustrated in an earlier post. By all accounts Green is a solid, hard practicing, hard working teamate with a good reputation on and off the field. A J Green instantly opens up Brown for even more catches. Demanding extra attention Green opens up the whole Offense.I get where you are coming from Gu. I'm sure many feel the way that you do and have done a good job explaing why. Something to consider is will a 3rd draft pick from the next draft help Buffalo this season. -

Not ready for a better supporting cast? -
I have to admit Gronk comes across very karizmatik and has an easy listening voice. The Tre White hit still bothers me though...

I find it odd everything refers back to one beat writer so you have to wonder how the comment " I'm not trading that guy" came about or how secure anyones job is in an organization that started the season 0 - 5. -
Depending on the outcome of tomorrows game...AJ Green

Doesn't sound like A J Green is getting traded anytime soon. So much for that... -

Its true, hard to be elite on the sidelines. -

Lets just take look at your 1st and probably most compelling comment (provided its correct). Last season Green scored 6 TD's in 9 games. If you do the math at that rate A J Green scores 10 TD's by seasons end. Average during his elite period (according to you) is 9 TD per season. A J Green averaged 5 receptions per game his 1st 5 seasons. Average in Greens 2018 season per game 5 receptions. Yards average during Greens so called Elite period 15. Yards average in the 2018 season 15.1. -

Myself personally, just having a WR with a catching radius, size ,and skill of A J Green alone will help improve Allens TD to INT ratio IMO. I also think having an elite target to boost an already good WR corp will have Allen scrambling/ running less, making big plays more in the passing game in my humble opinion. A J Green has been on the playing field over 86% of his career averaging over 70 receptions and just under 8 TD's a season. With all due respect Hapless. -

Here's the thing, and I get where you guys are coming from. On the field A J Green is elite. Elite doesn't come cheap. Not even in a draft. Take Sammy Watkins for instance. I remember reading an article last year where 9 out of the 13 WR's picked in round 1 the 3 previous drafts have not had more then 40 receptions a season. Only one made the pro bowl. Thats not good return on a 1st round draft pick. Does everyone realize we are trying to beat the Pats? Does our secondary need Tom Brady throwing to A J Green? Just something to think about fellas. A healthy A J Green in the playoffs can make the difference IMO. -

Drafting a high round WR is very hit and miss in my humble opinion. Then they have to develop which takes time. In all likelihood If A J Green hits the trading block the Pats end up with him... -
Have You Ever Been Fired From a Job?
Figster replied to Halloween Land's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Worked Nuclear construction for many years so getting layed off went with the territory. Getting actually fired takes me back to a young teenager washing dishes at my mothers restraunt. ( 13 years old ) Awww come on maw, I was just taking a quick break. ( shooting pool or playing pinball ) -

I agree, the Pats would love him. My hopes are this will help convince the Bills GM to go the extra mile it will probably take to get Green in a Bills uni, Yes, we can wish... -

THE ROCKPILE REVIEW - Titans Meet the New Bills

Now I'm feeling a little better, Pure speculation on my part Shaw based on Buffao's needs. A J Green the man. The state of the Bengal franchise at this point in the season. Provided Green hits the trading block which I feel there is a good chance. The Buffalo Bills in my humble opinion are a player away on O from making a real strong push for a Championship. A J Green fits the Bill... -
