THE ROCKILE REVIEW - A Walk in the Park
Figster replied to Shaw66's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
For all the perfectionist out there the NFL is filled with the best athletes in the nation. Every team has them. The oppositon works just as hard as the home team at finding ways to win. Regardless of the record. Does anyone think its entertaining to watch a mismatch? I don't... Thanks OP, sorry to sound off in a negative way. -

Managing the clock properly is a big part of winning football games. Incomplete passes accomplishes nothing. If Gore rushes for a 1st down ( my moneys on Gore) we're not even talking about it. With all due respect B B -

Don't get me wrong, big bama fan and I like Foster. A player like A J Green even at a later stage in his career is in a step above Robert Foster in my humble opinion. -

Struggling and things he needs to work on mean about the same thing to me. Brady struggled against McD's D despite being arguably the best QB that ever played the game. I'm confident Tom Brady and Josh Daniels will study game film before the next encounter and work on developing a better stradegy to beat Buffalo. Considering not many teams can slow Tom Brady and the New England Patriots down. How does that fit into McD's ranking? -

Myself personally PTR, I'm soaking up every minute of the development of one Mr Josh Allen and one mans trash is another mans treasure. Wanting A J Green in a Bills uni just kinda goes with the territory. In the best Stevie Johnson imitation I can muster, Why so serious... -

Allen just needs an elite pass catcher thats capable of running as far as Allen can throw. -

Home games are advantages for sure. On the other hand Buffalo is turning into a very hard matchup regardless of where they play. I mean think about it, 5 - 1 and not anywhere close to hitting on all cylinders. MERCY!!! -

Absolutely Running headlong into Phillips for thr TD is typical of the type of player he has been. -

QB Patrick Mahomes suffers patella dislocation (With updates)

I'm not just second guessing the call. I'm second guessing the whole idea of using your QB in a short yardage situation that a RB/ fullback is better equipped to handle. Times have changed. Opposition is limited now on how they can get to a QB and rough him up. QB sneak is like an open invitation IMO. Time will tell, but it would not surprise me If Andy Reid stops using the QB sneak with Mahomes. Yours truly, Couch Potato HC -

On the QB sneak and I understand injury doesn't happen very often. Why take the risk that ends up having half the players on the field piling onto in many instances a teams most valuable player. I'm surprised serious injury doesn't happen more often. Luckily for the entertainment of the leagues sake the Mahomes injury was best case scenario of what could have been. In Buffalo's case, give the ball to Gore... -
NFL get rid of instant replay
Figster replied to Buffalo Barbarian's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I like Gu's idea of viewing everything at real speed so that wouldn't actually eliminate instant reply. What real speed would do is allow judgement minus the dissection. Another idea that has been mentioned in the past If I remember correctly. If an infraction/s does not impede the result of a play, don't enforce it. After reading numerous threads on various rule changes, the games themselves, the outcomes. Its become abundantly clear, flow of the game from an entertainment perspective is vital to the quality of the product. -
