Myself personally, with a relatively low number of major hot spots and seeing in the thousands dying daily it really doesn't take a rocket scientist to realize without proper intervention we would be in a world of hurt in my humble opinion.

I agree, By the time football season gets here the US will have had a decent number of confirmed cases that have recovered and are able to go back to a more normal way of living IMO. Covid 19 survivor ticket discount is what I'm talking about...

Made a pickup from our local grocery store yesterday ( Sanders in Corry, Pa ) and was upset to see the majority of shoppers and store clerks without masks. The spacing of 6 foot is not enough without everyone wearing a mask IMO. A sneeze goes much further without protection. If wearing a mask is not enforced properly in our community and every community across the US we will see worst case scenarios everywhere in my humble opinion. You can't wait for people to start dropping like flies around you to start taking action.

On a side note and I touched on this subject in an earlier post. While there may not be any scientific data right now to support this with so little known about Covid 19. Small cuts or abrasions that are not bandaged or covered may put you at a higher risk. Including small cuts from shaving. Stay home, stay safe people...

I have mixed feelings on this because it remains to be seen how many new hot spots will occur or how bad they will get IMO. Different living conditions like apartment or high rise where there are shared hallways, stairways, or elevators makes the spread of the virus very hard to control IMO. I also think with many of our essential business workers performing tasks without protection. Try as we might, I think the spread could continue at a slow pace across the US. By way of example lets say approx 10% of the US population ends up testing positive with Covid 19. (roughly 32 million people) 1% death rate would equate to approx. 320, 000 lives lost.

I think its very misleading to tell everyone the masks only help carriers from spreading. It sends mixed signals and is wrong in my humble opinion. You can't tell me a mask, any mask , doesn't prevent people from putting hands around their mouth or nose. You also can't tell me more filtration of the air doesn't give you more chance of catching smaller particles. Spittle/small droplets from a cough or sneeze travels. Where do you think this ends up when it lands on your lips? In your eyes? I'm not sure If its the so called experts just trying to save face after telling everyone healthy folks need not wear a mask. Use common sense...

Good point, and Wolf does deserve credit. Row housing allows familes the ability to control their own environment for the most part. High rise living, not so much. Senior citizens living in high rises become sitting ducks. It helps explain the difference in death rates IMO...

PA's confirmed cases seems to be leveling off for the 1st time and the death rate is unusually low in comparison to other states and worldwide. 11,510 confirmed cases 150 deaths A higher than normal death rate can be explained by the lack of adequate testing. Lower then normal death rate cannot be explained as easily. Younger age groups on average? Better management?

Our local Sanders grocery store is offering to shop for senior citizens with payment over the the phone. Give them your list, they bag it up and bring it out to your car so you never have to come into contact with anyone. Got a little teary eyed reading about it in the paper. Grocery store clerks with Angel wings. God bless them all...

Not enough is known yet about Covid 19 to rely to much on what you may or may not read in my humble opinion Limeaid. Myself personally, someone coughing or sneezing in close proximity makes one's eyes an orifice you may want to protect IMO. The high death totals can be avoided in other Cities in my humble opinion by simply wearing a mask in publc and obeying the stay at home order. Protect the air you breath. On a side note finding out how Covid19 airborne particulates react to steam, water vapor and other environmental changes would be beneficial If for instance steam weighs down the particles enough to cleanse the air we breath. Almost all of our indoor essential business workers are doing so with zero protection. We need to provide them with a safe work place. Wear eye protection...

You know Augie there may actually be some silver linings. You just touched on one. Due to the stay at home order Automobile accidents resulting in the loss of life should go down. I'm sure plenty of folks are drinking alcohol ,but not doing it at a bar or club and having to drive home. Seasonal flu related deaths should go down. The spread of the common cold resulting in pneumonia related deaths should go down. Just to name a few. The flu alone kills tens of thousands every year...( just lost my aunt)

While we're on the subject of masks and the growing debate on everyone wearing them essential or non essential, I think its important for us to remember, we protect our health care workers and essential business workers when we protect ourselves. I realize many of you want to protect our health care workers first and foremost. I understand, I get it. Absolutely. Over loading our health care system with COVID 19 cases is whats going to cost us the lives of some of our best medical professionals. The masks and all the equipment they wear are not 100% full proof in protecting them from COVID 19. Men and woman working in close quarters to one another fighting a courageous battle against an invisble enemy. Its just a matter of time before they will all catch the virus. We have to stop this invisible enemy they face before it gets to them. Its the only way we can defeat this enemy as a nation in my humble opinion. Myself personally, I have an 82 year old mother living at home with underlying conditions. Like millions of Americans the anxiety and fear this virus is creating, hitting very close to home.

Myself personally, mass producing the N95 mask and distributing it equally among the health care workers, essential business workers and the general public is the most prudent course of action in my humble opinion. My point is Happless you have to cut the problem off at its source or it will continue to grow.
