Is Tua hype the new Darnold hype?
Figster replied to whatdrought's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Short term Fitzy might be the better QB. I think the Dolphins needed to see what they have in Tua and this was the best time to do it. -
Is Tua hype the new Darnold hype?

It depends on how you look at it IMO. Fitz is now the mentor to a very talented young signal caller that he can mold. Chan Gailey is great at getting the most from his players. To me the more accurate Tua becomes an extension of Fitzpatrick on the football field. The best of both worlds... -
Is Tua hype the new Darnold hype?

People hate being wrong. Baker Mayfield has been all over the place. Lamar Jackson was at the tail end of what was supposed to be this great draft class at the QB position. Jackson ends up exceling the fastest. The dark horse Allen nobody seen coming with the glaring red flag concerning his completion percentage is now rounding the corner with a full head of steam in hot pursuit of Jackson. Everyone gets their collective butts hurt because they were all so wrong... -
Where I went to school the principal had a 3 inches thick, 5 inches wide, 24 inches long wooden paddle with holes drilled through it for maximum velocity. You bent over the principals desk. Stand on your toes and pray all the toilet paper helps. It doesn't. It would lift you up off the ground. Trust me when I say it hurt way, way more then any pain I could ever dish out or take fighting. The good old days...

The Slide (Stefon Diggs): smart move?
Figster replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think its a smart move that some coaches actually try to get their players to buy into IMO. In more of a finesse O I think it makes sense to reduce the amount of hits a player takes at the WR position IMO. I think its something you are more likely to see from a play it smart kinda team/players. Pats come to mind... -
Or just standing up to them worked for me. After giving up my lunch money so long I said enough is enough Kid needs to eat...

I think part of the problem is every time Buffalo starts entering into the conversation with some of the better teams in the league. The Bills suffer a set back. I do think the overall league perception of the Bills is starting to change more now as Allen continues to develop into a franchise QB IMO. Elite play from the QB position is impossible to ignore.

Clearly nothing about McD or Beane jumping out at you that suggests Ralph Wilson couldn't have made the same hire IMO I mean I'm sure its a much different story now with their success in Buffalo. I remember a time when Ralph was real close to coaxing Bill Cowher out of retirement. Its not like R W didn't try...

Stephen's A-List - Top 5 NFL teams - Bills at 2

They beat the Titans and Ravens in back to back games recently. Pittsburgh flys under the radar until you play them... -

Just some positive stats/rankings for a Tuesday afternoon
Figster replied to folz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Another positive sign that goes beyond the stats is the love and brotherhood building in the Bills locker room. The Bills played inspired football on Sunday vs the Seahawks. I think it might be safe to say the team played for Josh more then anything. and man did they play... -
The Bills 3rd quarter woes have been well documented. Half time adjustments or lack there of is an area the Buffalo Bills need to improve IMO. I think what might be happening on O is a good 1st half begs for more of the same until the opposition stops it. Opposition makes halftime adjustsments on D, the Bills are hindered by the adjustments and counter attack. Normally the 3rd quarter ends up being less productive in the process. My remedy would be to have a more scripted 3rd quarter start that is different then the overall game plan. A heavy dose of run if the passing game was succesful in the 1st half by way of example. On D the solution is obvious IMO. McD's expertise is a must when it comes to halftime or on the fly adjustments. I like Leslie Frazier and I think he's a good coach. From an innovative standpoint though McD's expertise needs to utilized to its fullest potential in my humble opinion. I think there's a fine line between allowing your coaches to coach without stepping on their toes while maintaining enough control to make game management adjustments. The New England Patriots are always a well coached team and it starts at the top. B B is sprinkled into everything IMO. Myself personally, I'm a big fan of disguising ones intentions. Keeping the opposition on its toes and 2nd guessing. Its what this team is built for and fully capable of doing on both sides of the football IMO. (On a side note: it would be interesting to see how the coin toss to start the game relates to the 3rd quarter for teams. Buffalo seems to be losing the coin toss more often then not.)

Is Tua hype the new Darnold hype?
Figster replied to whatdrought's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Fan of Tua and I agree, ( I'm fighting it ) Not one person in the league I would prefer more over Allen. Good competition makes the games more enjoyable IMO. It makes each team in the Division better IMO. -
The Klein take away sealed the deal for me also. Throughout the game the play of Edmunds seemed in sharp contrast to how he has played in recent weeks. The D following his lead. Pure speculation on my part. It would not surprise me If McD had more involvement in the game planning of the Seahawks then he has earlier on in the season. Resulting in better schemes for Edmunds and the Bills D to execute. Again, speculation, but something changed IMO.

Josh Allen now 60% CAREER completion percentage.
Figster replied to BidsJr's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Can someone please stamp Josh Allens career completion percentage onto Terry Bradshaws forehead so he's reminded every time he looks in the mirror. Awwww come on man!
