If more people are working on a problem, the more likely it is that the problem will be solved. More minds at the National Severe Storms Laboratory would certainly help. Seems pretty basic to me. Or, would you prefer we simply give up and not even try?

The biggest threat to the nation, to me, is primarily a soft war that gets Americans to turn against our very core institutions and demand the end of Democracy. It's already happening. Trump has been putting out feelers for a while now about a third term. The SAVE Act has a very real chance at preventing married women from voting. Americans are very easily seduced by propaganda. I wouldn't know because no one knows what Trump wants. He does not have a cohesive agenda. All today proved was that Trump and Vance will absolutely sabotage our allies at the drop of a hat. I have no idea why. But there is no reason to trust them. Rubio's face said it all. He knows that Trump and Vance are idiots, but he's such a castrated little soyboy that he will happily fall in line.

They have different laws regarding free speech than we do. I do not agree with them. This does not mean they aren't our allies. They have a different cultural landscape over there owing to WWII. To that point, AFD is monitored because they are a neo-fascist party. They harbor extremists. We do the same here with many white supremacist and neo-fascist groups that are a threat to the nation.

At the end of the day, the era of the U.S. running the world as a respected and feared liberal power is over. There is no point in allying with us if our leaders will host a mock conference to attack and berate another leader. Trump and Vance have no actual ability to negotiate as statesmen. Imagine how they would do with a real powerful adversary! How is Trump going to handle Iran when it gets nukes, or when China invades Taiwan? What a mess!
