UPDATE 2025 - The Trump economy

Never been this low? That doesn’t even make sense. Democracy, maintaining our American institutions, not being in bed with Xi and Putin, continued investment in our factories and tech industries, money towards infrastructure, and so forth. Trump has tariffs and racism. Oh, and you still haven’t told me what Trump will do to “fix” this -
Aw, the racists have to follow the rules. What a shame.

UPDATE 2025 - The Trump economy

Ok, so Trump offers me nothing. Got it. I’ll stick with the administration that has us producing more oil in history and the highest stock market ever. Harris is not the president yet. -

The stock market was at an all-time high. It was due for a correction. You are just one logical fallacy after another aren’t ya? -

If Trump is the alternate, what is his solution to this problem? What does he offer me? Further, if she’s done “nothing” then how can you call this “Kamala’s Katastrophe” or whatever other rage bait the neonazis like James Lindsay use? -

Not one of you have answered 1) what Trump will do to “fix” it or 2) what Harris did to cause this market correction. Maybe put each other’s wangs away for a second and try to think of an answer. -
UPDATE 2025 - The Trump economy

It’s been Biden’s America for 4 years. What changed now? Again, be specific. I love your little anti-Harris circlejerk going on here, but maybe calm down and stop and consider why the market is doing this. -

That’s a great way to say nothing! Maybe I should try a different approach. What, specifically, has Harris done to cause this market correction? And be specific. -

If it’s broken, surely Trump has a solution! What is it? -

I asked what policies Trump offers to “fix” this. -

Deflection is a logical fallacy. Try again? Put that 8th grade education to good use for once -
Wish it was Kelly since I believe he has the most mainstream appeal. Shapiro is too damaged with his pro Israel stance for the weirdo leftists, and right wingers hate Jews in general. Walz is bland, the Tim Kaine of this election cycle. Still hoping for Buttigieg

A few hundred ultra right wing racists is not news. They will die off alone and be forgotten. Moving on!

Ok big boy, what policies does Trump have that will fix all these things? Be specific. -
I do agree with the second half of your post. I think, for the average lower-class working Joe, I'd like to see a mass increase of supply and then some kind of government voucher system to aid in affordability. This preserves the freedom to choose and move and doesn't lock the poor into Le Corbusier-style towers. I said "possibly" because I believe there are still going to be a group of people that needs government-built housing, mostly the mentally ill/those who cannot live on their own and don't really have the agency to go through the home-buying process. I prefer this to nonprofits because government agencies can be held accountable easier than vague boards of directors. Plus, in my experience, non-profits are difficult to work with and are often poorly run. In an ideal world, we'd increase the supply so much that prices relax naturally and the voucher system is not needed. In the urban planner world, we're experimenting in a few different cities with different ideas like converting vacant storefronts to housing. Office buildings seem like a great idea, but the problem there is that the infrastructure is simply not there for 200 new families and all their basic needs. It's bonkers expensive.

NIMBYism is across the political spectrum. I don't know why you're whining about "illegals" in England since the psychopath who stabbed the kids was a British citizen. If you want to have a good faith talk about integrating second-gen immigrants, a definite real problem, then I'm all ears. Possibly. I'm not a huge fan of government housing since it's a slippery slope policy to "let's take the poor and shove them somewhere else," and it creates de facto ghettos. Same problem that rent control has, which I'm very opposed to. The root cause of the housing crisis, IMO, are outdated restrictions on new construction.

Laws are good and should be enforced. That said, the root cause of this is building more housing.
