  1. You're right, IIRC Ford had the one random false start penalty.
  2. Very true, and I feel this is where player leadership needs to step up. Of course, McD can also help by parking players' asses on the bench when they do something stupid like roll into Wentz's knees after he threw the ball (looking at you Addison).
  3. KC, Baltimore and us were the 4th-6th most penalized teams in the league last season. It didn't affect success for either of those teams.
  4. I completely agree with this, but the catch is that there's no excitement anymore to be better. It's as if we could just walk back into the AFCCG and when it hasn't been easy there's been a leadership void to fire up the rest of the team, both on the coaching side and the players' side.
  5. There's no heart for many of the players. You can see heart and grit in guys like Poyer, Allen (usually), Diggs, Oliver, and (now) Spencer Brown. But look at others - Vernon Butler is completely useless and isn't even trying out there, Star is absent, Hughes is getting old, etc. Those guys aren't playing with any fire anymore. Remember the days of Jordan Phillips? Even if he wasn't a game wrecker, he and Shaq had swagger and heart. I miss that.
  6. Credit where credit is due. Of course, didn't he have the brutal holding penalty that wiped out Allen's long run?
  7. Look at last year. There were guys running all over the place open and Josh was hitting them easily. Deep crossers, post routes, slants, etc. None of that is happening this year.
  8. God I hate this phrase. It's such a pointless speculation that's often never true even on really bad teams. Even Urban Meyer survived his little scandal.
  9. "Horrible pick after horrible pick" is a little much considering Whaley's entire 2015 and 2016 draft classes are either out of the league or on their third teams. Simmons was graded as a second rounder while Oliver, who I love, was widely seen as a top-15 pick. No one wanted Metcalf. That's why everyone passed on him. We needed linemen and, again, scouting reports said he was a first-round talent with massive upside. Obviously that didn't pan out. Hindsight is easy to have, especially with drafts, but Beane is a fine GM who has also managed to keep our homegrown talent (Milano, Johnson) in Buffalo on team-friendly deals.
  10. But we did get "close" to that...last season. Come on, man.
  11. Seahawks are going to be mediocre for a long time. Don't see a lot of talent to build around beyond Russ/DK/Lockett and Carroll is getting old.
  12. Firing a coach who has completely turned this franchise around one year after nearly making the super bowl is insane. Period.
  13. Just going by the draft, starting in 2018 since the 2017 draft was muddled: Josh - 'nuff said Edmunds - today showed he's very valuable to the defense. I don't care, we need him out there. Neal - key special teamer/solid depth safety Taron Johnson - starting slot corner, excellent tackler Dawson Knox - a very good TE now that he's developed Gabe Davis - promising young WR Tyler Bass - one of the best kickers in the league Dane Jackson - good depth, solid up and comer
  14. This is either a troll or one of the most blatantly stupid posts I've ever seen lmao Or we could like not fire the coach we just extended and got us to the AFCCG for the first time since the Clinton administration.
  15. Daboll has McCarthy Syndrome. He's been figured out and is trying to get by on sheer talent of Allen and Diggs to cover up the fact that his scheme is old and tired.
  16. This seems overdramatic. At the end of the day we're still 6-4 and in line for a wild card spot at worst.
  17. Not for a couple seasons at LEAST. If Matt Nagy can get as much time as he has, there's no reason Sean can't get at least two more seasons unless something insane happens like 2-15 seasons.
  18. To your last point, I need to see the All-22 but it doesn't look like those short routes are there that often.
  19. Great, one of these fine teams gets to get annihilated by the NFC champion in February!! Which good team have they beaten?
  20. Still cannot fathom how we let Wentz run for 25 yards on 3rd and 10 when three Bills made contact with him.
  21. The league always reverts back to equilibrium. Rams and Chiefs scoring 50 on each other a couple years ago? Design your team to stop high flying passing offenses. Teams designed to stop said offenses? Revert to a bruising offensive attack.
  22. Edmunds is great. This game proved it when we had no one there to light up Wentz on that 3rd and 10.
  23. Noticed this too. Josh is excellent under center where he can manipulate the play with audibles/slight of hand. And yet, there he was back in shotgun for the upteempth time with all deep post routes and nothing underneath.
