European Elections 2024 - BLOODBATH
Roundybout replied to Big Blitz's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Yep! Labour is almost guaranteed to take over. The Socialist party appears to have won a healthy majority in Denmark, too. Meanwhile, Sinn Fein is getting stomped in Ireland. France did an atrocious job with assimilating immigrants. European countries don’t have the institutions like we do to assimilate them. I will fully agree to that. -
I saw that. I saw Macron called a parliamentary election too, which will be interesting. He’s going to need to form a stronger coalition with Parti Socialiste if he wants to keep going.

IMO, right wing populism is more appealing than left wing populism because it’s easy to understand - “I don’t like you, so I will put this person in power that will stomp you out” whereas left wing populism requires you to read 97 different texts from people who died 200 years ago to have the slightest understanding of their goals. Not entirely thrilled about the amount of votes that nazi Czech Republic guy guy though! -
Cool. What’s the population density?

Not surprising. Centrism always wins. Populism bounces between left and right wings every so often, it’s nothing new. -
There are only increased costs because there is scarcity of housing. Austin, Texas, did a phenomenal job of encouraging housing development. As a result, rents plummeted. https://www.austinmonitor.com/stories/2024/02/austin-apartments-boomed-and-rents-went-down-now-some-builders-are-dismantling-the-cranes/

"Just pull yourself up by your bootstraps" doesn't work, has never worked, and will never work in the future. Why do you desire that minorities stay in poverty? Weird. We are still rebuilding our inner cities and it will take substantial investment. Taking this away will bring us back to square one.

Im actually surprised the lolbertarians aren’t there

We knew that’s what Trump wants. His followers are the equivalent of the middle school bully who can’t match his opponent mentally so he has to throw hands on the playground. Its terrifying stuff but we have to be strong, continue to get the vote out, and continue to suppress and exterminate the far right ideology.

Ha, I wish my wife did yoga. She just does these ridiculous core workout classes that make me feel like I’ve been sawed in half by the time I’m done -

There’s always yoga! Or a red Ryder BB gun and some beer cans. -

Fair enough, but how will we define new extreme? Often times, we don’t know the extent of a season until it’s over and we calculate damage costs? -

I explained why that study concluded that. Why are you ignoring what I said? -

Barely 1% of people who transition regret it. https://slate.com/technology/2024/02/transgender-youth-health-care-regret-pamela-paul-nyt-data.html#:~:text=A recent systematic review and, both transmasculine and transfeminine surgeries.
