  1. You show me how many strictly Spread Offense QB's have succeeded in the NFL. Footwork is a huge aspect of the position. The guys who have never had to focus on it before tend to have issues. It contributes to success and failure for sure.

You are right about adjusting from the spread to the pro game. It's awfully tough.

What NFL QB has gone from a strictly spread offense in college to have nfl success?

Drew Brees - Played in a strictly spread offense at Purdue.

    And

Cam newton- who Also played in a spread at Auburn

    Also Alex Smith at Utah

So it's a slim list of starters

  2. All that crazy stuff goes down in that lot just before the entrance to Lot 5 on Southwestern, correct?

    Yessir hahaha

That's been my tailgate spot for the last two years

It is super fun and super young in general. It's basically a kegger/ WWE event/ cookout/ babes

  3. But the Gladiators union was soooooooo much weaker than the NFLPA.

You never head the Gladiators whining about two-a-days, or the length of their season ... and holdouts???? There were no stinkin' holdouts.

    They were true professionals!

Every nfl player talks about how if they could die anyway they would die on the field...

90% of the gladiators died on the field! Talk about dedicated to your craft!

  4. The bottom line is if Tyrod doesn't figure out the footwork and timing then he's not running the play as called. If he reverts back to holding onto the ball for 5 seconds and then running around and scrambling then he's going to be out of a job pretty quickly. It's very much set in stone, there's no ambiguity in this offense. This is how the play is run. There's no guesswork or improvising. 1, 2, 3, throw

    This is the biggest question...

    Can TT play IN RHYTHM

  5. Which golden age? The winged-T? Option? Steel Curtain? Run and Shoot? Tampa 2? Spread?

    The game evolves.

They have made rule changes to make the game safer but the unintended consequence is an imbalance favoring the offense.

The next shift that needs to happen is to change PI to a 15 yard penalty and not a spot foul, as well as an emphasis on offensive PI. This will help level the playing field.

I don't believe there was ever a run n shoot fad in the nfl... even though it would be awesome

Unless your talking HS and college

  6. Who was the moron (I think it was Chris Brown) who during Tyrod's presser yesterday said "talking about combining timing with footwork is a kind of novel way to think about it for some of us"???? It is and always was the very basis of Bill Walsh's WCO.

Seriously, how do you cover the NFL for years and not know that? Dennison's roots through Kubiak and Shanhan are to the WCO that was being run in San Fran.

Your last sentence isn't entirely true.

Shannahan roots aren't through walshs WCO

They are not apart of each others coaching trees in any way and Walsh had a very pure WCO. Shannahan and all his disciples favor a more MOBILE WCO where the QB can waggle out of the pocket

    Shannahan LOVED mobile QBs

    Elway- extremely mobile

    Jake Plummer- extremely mobile

    Brian griese- good mobility

    Jay Cutler- very mobile

Redskins he brought over mcnabb- very mobile

    Drafted RGIII- very mobile

They do employ similar concepts but shannahan did not build his offense on walshs. They both employ WCO concepts but Shannahan is heavy on the zone run and bootleg and shotgun neither of which Walsh was big on

  7. Only missed two home games since I got seasons in '94 (appendix burst day before Bills/Cowboys MNF classic and a meaningless game against the Colts in '99). Lived in Oswego/Syracuse for 7 of those years (college/grad school). Lots of gas money. Most miserable I've ever been at a game weather wise was the Giants game the year they beat the Pats in the SB the 1st time. Around freezing and raining for the last 3 quarters. Clothes were soaked through so I had to drive home in my boxers hoping cops wouldn't pull me over.

    Wow I'm totally tripping now

I swear I read this exact post like 15 minutes ago...

    What is going on lol

  8. https://sports.yahoo.com/mayweather-mcgrego-still-not-sold-secondary-market-sees-spike-resell-tickets-available-200416089.html

Looks like people aren't so willing to pony up over 3x more money per ticket than the Mayweather/Pacman fight.

i can't imagine why people aren't lining up around the block to fork over thousands of dollars to watch a retired boxer take on a loudmouth who has never boxed.

Yea some of the prices are ridiculous...

    Crazy

  9. I never understand why some people put some "words" in quotation marks. "Words" are "words"; there aren't "special" "words" that need quotation marks. If some "words" were more "special" than other "words" we'd need "special" "dictionaries" for "special words." Like Webster's "Special" "Words" "Dictionaries.""Go" "Bills"!!!!

    "I miss your posts"

    Point taken

  10. This team will never win a super bowl with TT.

Well I never said Win a SB...

And out of all the QBs on the roster he gives us the best chance to win this year.

I just want to win games at this point

Can we make the playoffs before we talk about SB. We can win 9 or 10 games with TT which is better than 6-10 or 7-9 every year..

He's our best option this year and our QB. I'm a bills fan not a fan of player xyz

  11. Thank you for the honesty and open mindedness, but I'm still curious what specifically changed your mind? Did you rewatch a bunch of games?

I ask because these "nuances" are very seemingly scout specific.

Any plays as examples of these you could direct us to?

Yes. I went back to rewatch a bunch of games from the past 2 years.

He is a Picasso at usually evading the first pass rusher. You can turn on any start and watch him side step, and step through defenders. He does a good job keeping his eyes up which allows him to feel the edge rush with his peripheral vision. That's key

One play that really stood out to me was his first ever TD throw. TT checks with Percy Harvin. Realizes he has a slower corner on him. He stays calm in the pocket looking down the field until Percy reaches top gear and then he unloads a perfect ball to the back quarter of the end zone . It was textbook film study, communication, and then execution on the field. All he needed was to see #20 opposite Percy. That was his cue. He also kept the safety in the middle instead of over top

Another patiently executed play was in his first home game against the dolphins. Third quarter up 19-14. Third and 14 I believe. Takes the shot gun snap and patiently drifts right in the pocket. Eyes down field looking at the strong safety he realizes its cover 1 robber and Sammy is 1on1 down the sideline. Throws a ball to the end zone where only Sammy can make a play on it. Smart, patient Quarterbacking

He seems to know when he has a CB in the dog house. And he knows how to communicate with his WR to put him into position for a big play.even just a look pre snap

  12. One year in March it was even nicer than a typical October around here maybe 5 years ago. I remember we had a couple days that got in the Low 80s in March here that year but it cooled down but most of that month was in the 50s and 60s for daytime highs. It was the nicest early spring I can remember. The next year in March it was colder than a SOB lol go figure.

80 in march would be awesome . I could get my basketball in earlier to stay in shape

  13. Your winters arent as bad either. At least visiting Pennsylvania one year they barely get a winter. It was 60 degrees one year in January when we were there and not a drop of snow on the ground.

I'd say typical January here is 35• and snowy

It's definitely winter November through March sometimes even October
