Wide Receiver Train Full Speed Ahead- CHOO CHOO!
Buffalo716 replied to Pete's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think Egbuka has a high floor as a NFL receiver but he has almost 80-20 splits in the slot to outside.. sure burden also probably had the same splits this year but 2022 he was 85%+ on the outside as a true freshman In the sec I think Egbuka he's more jaxon smith njigba , tho better , than terry mclaurin... I don't ever see him being an outside guy like Terry but he could be insane in the slot Burden has size that you would normally want to kick inside to the slot.. and he can make plays there ... But I think the difference is his downfield ball tracking which is elite , his ability to go get a football and use change of pace and tempo to create space translate well Realistically the best receivers today are used all over the formation... But I definitely believe that burden has a lot of untapped route running potential with all of his other gifts and people are going to be upset that they pushed him down the board that much because he had inconsistent quarterback play -
I said it up thread.. Patrick mahomes is not surviving Lawrence Taylor and neither is whatever tackle they trotted out there He's not finishing the game

I got you lol his technique kind of leads more to a pass rushing outside linebacker But he has the frame and size to be a hand in the dirt defensive lineman.. he's going to have to adjust the playing a 5-7 technique we typically line up in We also haven't had a guy who could line up at the nine technique and just attack a quarterback since before Miller got hurt -

Looks like the opposite of what we usually actually go for.. not that McDermott can't see value in that He looks to be lining up from the nine technique all the time... A lot wider than we typically line our defensive ends up in BUT... It is a strictly pass-rushing technique And we don't have a nine technique rusher right now ... -
Wide Receiver Train Full Speed Ahead- CHOO CHOO!
Buffalo716 replied to Pete's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think he's more of a strictly slot guy then Luther burden I mean I think he's really talented.. he's got a lot of great skills but everything about his release and play style says slot Burden has the traits to at least be an x or a z .. besides the fact we have a really good slot in shakir , but he is a very talented wide receiver -
Called accumulation of mental and physical exhaustion... Patrick mahomes and some players on that team has played an entire extra season worth of football The last 5 years In a game as violent as football that's certainly adds up.. especially when mahomes is limping by week 10 every year... The accumulation of wear and tear on everybody from Chris Jones to pat mahomes etc Josh Allen might get dinged up he's not limping like he has something shoved up his ... Which is mahomes's Mo He's going to be like Peyton Manning who broke down well before Tom Brady.. mahomes doesn't have as long as Allen He took a pounding last year way more than he normally does .. I do not expect them back in the AFC championship

He has worked mostly from the slot.. but his ball tracking and ability to shift gears does have a solid projection for someone who can play on the outside He spent most of his freshman season on the outside -

He has a lot of good traits... He's battle tested in the SEC He has a good frame and functional athleticism And let's be real it's not like Missouri's quarterback play is anything special.. it's very inconsistent -

He definitely didn't have the season I thought he would have but the talent is still really really good And it's just dropping him to a slot where the bills could realistically draft him Now does he match with the personalities the bills look for.. maybe not I also don't personally know the kid so who knows how much or little of a diva he actually is But we took keon Coleman 33.. I think burden is a better prospect for sure with a really good skill set -

He's a much much better route runner than shenault and Burks .. he's also a lot faster than shenault.. realistically the only thing similar is how their schools used them but that doesn't mean they are the same Missouri used him so awfully because they have never gotten a top 10 recruit and their quarterback was streaky They literally got him and put a square peg into a round hole.. he has a lot of route running savviness that you never got to see because they turned him into that type of player because they had to get their best player the ball If he was at LSU or a lot of other schools he gets to showcase his actual wide receiver skills more I've seen him a lot growing up and he certainly has a lot more than what he showcased, he got pigeon holed... But he's an elite tracker of the football with soft hands with a lot of route running upside Elite tracker of the football is huge at the next level -

Hollins was in the NFL for 7 years and has 2,000 yards Palmer's been in the league for 4 years and has more They're not even comparable he's going to be an upgrade over Mack hollins -
LT would've killed mahomes

Well yeah but that was 10 games of 3 years He still showed some flashes but we really got vintage von Miller up till that game

A diva quarterback and a strict ass coach I cannot wait

Absolutely I have no ill will.. he's good football player he's not the guy he used to be It's funny.. I'm a scout on the road.. yet my 70 year old father who taught me everything I know is calling me to break this news He really likes stef And he's old so he doesn't get into the whole social media thing.. so he doesn't see anything that happens on social media so he didn't get the whole why is he a distraction thing But he's going to be a good veteran option for a Young quarterback... He's probably more of a secondary option post surgery but hes not a bad football player I actually can't believe he got paid this much he must have a hell of an agent

We've needed a consistent pass rusher since Mario Williams.. I guess one year of Lorenzo Alexander was also phenomenal

Stop making fun of my father 😂

We consistently are without starters.. you can't expect to win playoff games without your best corner and your best safety .. it's not the excuse.. we lost.. I think we don't give up 32 with both of them Our safeties were pretty weak all year and we were without our best one.. then Benford went down Against a top two quarterback... When the Chiefs lost secondary help in the playoffs is when Gabe Davis broke in NFL playoff lol And we all know we don't think that much of Gabe Davis.. he literally broke a playoff NFL record because he was getting guarded by backups
-
Where we have been basically decimated by injuries historically in our tenure? We've played pretty good against the Ravens... And broncos and Patriots and Ravens again We are giving up typically like 23 points a game when we win.. that's not bad for the playoffs Then people will be like we give up 35 when we lose the last five.. well guess what the Chiefs and Andy Reid their last five playoff losses give up like 33
-
I think there's a million things that go into every single NFL game... Besides the players on the field and the coaches and their decisions... I'm not someone who just blames things on injuries.. we lost .. but we did play without our best corner and our best safety.. at the end of the day that affects things.. that affects how you call coverages.. especially in a complex coverage scheme Could Sean McDermott, have done some better adjusting on the fly? Sure... Our defensive ends also forgot how to contain... I'm sure they harped all week that Patrick mahomes is dangerous moving because we know he is... It was a bad time for Groot to have one of his worst games But The whole notion that McDermott has a weak system.. and the other notion that spagnola is some super defensive genius is also crazy McDermott has done nothing but a fantastic job here.. he turned a cast away from an 0-16 browns team into an all pro.. he took Micah Hyde a utility player for the Packers and turned him into an all pro.. he took 5th round Matt Milano turned him into an All-Pro.. he took 28th pick Tre white and turned him into an all pro took Jordan Phillips off of waiver wire.. turned him to 9 1/2 sacks His ability to develop players within his scheme is world class ... At the end of the day we just haven't had the true game wrecker on the defensive line who can just single-handedly take over a win or take all game .. Chris Jones over the last 6 years can take over a game We've put a lot of resources into it and tried with guys like von.. unfortunately injuries happen... We have good guys up front , we don't have an elite guy So all seven or eight of our defensive lineman need to bring it.. and we haven't had that out of that group

BB literally did not even have Lamar Jackson on his board as a quarterback He's going to be the opposite at the NFL He's going to be a full-time corner playing 7 to 10 snaps at wide receiver He's way too valuable at corner which is his natural and highest upside position.. he could be a really really good WR but he can't play 90 snaps a game like he did in college the NFL is too physical And all his best traits point to a super high level corner who can play some wide receiver -
Reid and staff were out coached from the opening whistle But it's football.. even the greatest get out coached
