Oh yeah? Show me a single thread where the quality of our WRs is being discussed.

Incredible story for the young man. Transitioned to OT very late in his college career, was extremely rough around the edges on his technique, but came in and took Kromer's coaching and worked hard and transformed himself into a really nice developmental prospect. He has truly earned his spot on the roster.

Something to keep in mind with Frank Gore Jr: No pass blocking and no special teams. I remain convinced that we will have zero issues getting him through waivers.
-
I could see it based on the style of offense we are likely to run this year. Probably very little deep passing relative to what we're used to. I expect a ball control offense with a lot more running and quick passes to the short and intermediate areas. Most of Allen's INTs last year came on deep shots or under/over combos that a DB was able to easily read and undercut... and I don't expect either of those to be staples of our offense this year. I don't recall any INTs that Allen threw in the direction of a TE or Shakir last year and that is likely going to be the bulk of our offensive targets.

He sent it out in a text to subscribers.

Joe Marino is saying a source told him Daequan Hardy has an injury that might keep him out the first few weeks of the season... He speculates that could lead to Hamler making the roster as the punt returner.

I want to predict 1,000 yards but I think Knox will take some of that production away. I'll predict 86 catches on 115 targets for 915 yards and 4 TDs.

Other Teams Cuts That Might Help the Bills
HappyDays replied to Mike in Horseheads's topic in The Stadium Wall
I could see us bringing Andre Smith back. LB depth that knows our system and plays special teams. I still think we enter the season with at least one LB that isn't already on the roster. -
This is a no brainer if he's truly available. We have very little upside in the room as it stands today. Metchie gives us some upside. He has essentially been out of football for 2 years with just a bit of ramp up time last year so you have to think he would go for a later day three pick. As for the player he is basically an unknown but he showed enough in college to be drafted relatively high. Where is the downside here?

Cuts, Waiver Claims & 90 man roster depth: A study
HappyDays replied to GunnerBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
I don't think Andreessen has shown enough in pass coverage to get claimed elsewhere. If anything I am hoping we find the last LB on our roster from another team's cuts. All along I have wanted us to keep 6 LBs to protect against injury and I don't see 6 roster-worthy players in our current room. Honestly I struggle to even see 5. Almost zero chance Gore gets claimed IMO. Last year there were zero RBs claimed after cutdowns. He plays no special teams and has no high end physical traits. -

More flashes from Tylan Grable in this game: We might really have something here. -
Who’s stock is up after today’s game? Who’s stock went down?
HappyDays replied to Pete's topic in The Stadium Wall
Ty Johnson can field kickoffs so he automatically gets the 3rd spot over either of them. Gore is too slow to worry about losing to waivers. Evans has bounced around the bottom of rosters for several years now so I think we can get him to the PS, if not oh well. Every team has an RB4 that looks good going against future insurance agents. It is the last position to worry about losing a depth player. -
Good Night / Bad Night - Pre-season game 3

If the rumors about Darius Slayton being a trade possibility are true, I would offer Elam and a 5th. The Giants need CB help. Haven't heard any other WR trade buzz. But it seems unthinkable that this will be the group we'll be entering the season with. -
Good Night / Bad Night - Pre-season game 3
HappyDays replied to GunnerBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
It was a better night for Darrynton Evans than Gore IMO. He showed burst and pass catching ability, look no further than his TD to see both on display. That is a more important skill set than plodding contact balance. Several times yesterday I saw Gore entering wide open turf but the space got swallowed up quickly because he couldn't burst through it. The next corner he turns will be the first. I think he easily makes it onto the PS. I'm a tad more concerned about Evans getting through waivers but ultimately I think they both make it. Ty Johnson still gets the 3rd RB spot because he can handle kickoffs. Side note - the play of Evans in preseason is why I'm not a fan of drafting a RB in the 4th round but it is what it is. On Andreessen - He looks totally lost in pass coverage. He has shown he can mostly diagnose run plays and shoot gaps but that isn't going to be enough to make an NFL team. As a smaller MLB he needs to be able to read all plays quickly or else he is in danger of getting washed out of the play. Hip movements look stiff to me too, if you compare it to say Terrel Bernard the difference is stark. On WRs - My god the room is even worse than I thought and you know I was already more pessimistic than most. Samuel's turf toe appears to be mostly minor, but the prospect of losing him for even one game has shown how distressingly thin we are at the position. Utter malpractice from this regime. We're an injury away from Deon Cain or KJ Hamler taking real snaps in an NFL game. Our top 2 in Shakir and Samuel have had what I would classify as good training camp and preseason but no one is mistaking them for superstars or guys that can carry the load. Outside we have a known JAG in Hollins and a rookie that is still very much developing, and that's it. If fans are expecting a Josh Allen led passing offense to automatically have top 5 production, I think they are in for a rude awakening. I'll also say that Elam indirectly had a bad night. Nothing that he did specifically, I know two catches were in his area of the field but not sure they were specifically his responsibility. But Ingram and Hardy both are out there making plays. Ingram played a fade route perfectly without committing a penalty like we have seen Elam do a dozen times, and against a legit NFL WR at that. Hardy has shown a knack for making those zone transitions that Elam has always struggled with. It's actually very impressive to watch a supposed slot prospect perfectly play the middle of an under/over combo outside and break on the ball in whichever direction the QB throws it. The Bills traditionally have kept 4 outside CBs active on gameday and I wonder if Elam will be the odd man out. -

I think he's a PS squad lock and he'll be our Curtis Samuel call up replacement if he ever misses time. Nobody playing this late in the final preseason game has a shot of making the team IMO. -

We're trying to be a ball control offense that intentionally limits the number of drives in games but we can't kick FGs... not a great formula. -

I've seen people point out Tre McKitty has more blocking ability so that might give him the inside track if Morris will be out. Davidson has nice hands but looks slow and lumbering and doesn't offer any special teams ability. -

99% of fans lol. The hype gets out of control with a couple depth players every single year based on preseason. Just look at how people are talking about Gore Jr here and on Twitter. -

There are a lot of RBs talented enough to score a TD in the NFL. But everyone talked about him like we let a superstar walk out the door. Instead he was just a depth played. And he actually had some burst to his game. Gore just has contact balance, versus future insurance agents for that matter. -

Remember Raheem Blackshear? This is the same thing but with less burst. Or Antonio Williams? Exact type of player that fans fall in love with in the 2nd half of preseason games. Zero chance he makes a roster anywhere IMO. I wouldn't even consider it 100% that he makes our PS. -

The middle of the field has been absolutely wide open all game long. Any chance of Andreessen getting claimed on waivers has evaporated. -

Nah RBs are a penny a dozen and he has zero burst or speed. The contact balance makes him a decent emergency option though. Still he'll probably be behind Evans even on our PS.
