  1. So we're just making stuff up now? What actually happened is a trainer did the ACL stability test on him, then after running it he extended his hand to help Hairston up and walk slowly off the field. If the stability test failed I doubt that would have been the trainer's response. Either way it's getting close to calling the competition for Tre. I don't see how Hairston can steal the job at this point given his struggles and now this injury, and with Tre looking pretty good in camp.
  2. Yeah that was really weird. Brasky has been the best best reporter for live training camp updates so I hope it doesn't cost him his job.
  3. Sounds like a lot more run work today which makes sense with pads on for the first time.
  4. Hey as long as one of them can perform better than Rasul Douglas last year, which is a low bar, I'm good with that. Any improvement from that spot combined with what should be almost automatic improvement from the DL is still a positive step forward. As with any training camp a positive rep for the offense is a negative rep for the defense and vice versa. So in one light you have the CB2 getting beat somewhat regularly, while in another light you have Allen looking as sharp as ever with guys like Coleman and Palmer and Moore getting open from outside alignments. I'd much rather Coleman be looking good right now than White or even Hairston, because his play will be more critical to his side of the ball than the CB2's will be to theirs IMO.
  5. Yeah not making sweeping judgments, that is just the current state of the CB2 job on day 4. I really liked Hairston as a prospect and other than QB it might be the toughest position for a rookie to learn.
  6. Read between the... well, you know.
  7. Tre is still holding down the starting spot with Hairston getting mixed in some each day. However doesn't sound like either of them are performing as well as you'd hope. Tre seems to be having the better camp of the two, but he's also too frequently getting mentioned as the CB that got beat on a given play; compare that to Benford where his name almost never comes up (in a good way). Hairston by early reports is struggling quite a bit to be honest. WRs at every level of the depth chart seem to be winning reps against him in team drills. Obviously still very very early in his career but he's not progressing as quickly as I'd hoped, at least not yet.
  8. Joe Marino was at practice today. Here's the updates he texted out to subscribers:
