Some team could convince themselves he is worth a 6th rounder. We got a 5th for Matt Cassel.

Brogan Roback is having a better game than AJ McCarron

McCarron feeling the phantom pressure now
The Phantom Pressure sounds like a good nickname for our starting d-line

What the hell is McCarron doing? It's in his head now.

AJ is averaging 1.2 yards per pass in this game.
Not really what you'd call an aerial assault.
His YPA is higher than his passer rating!

Man I didn't think McCarron was THIS bad. That collar bone might be bothering him more than we think.

The only thing I'm learning from this game is that McCarron sucks. There's a reason we got him cheap after every other QB signed somewhere else.

I decided to try Hulu's version of cable this week. The stream has been terrible. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

McCarron can't make anything happen against 2's and 3's.
Peterman's preseason seems a lot better in retrospect.

Peterman's good preseason doesn't count because it's been against backups. So what does that say about McCarron's performance today?

Remember when you guys got so mad when I said McCarron was trash like 5 months ago.
It wasn't too long ago there were people here mocking the idea that Peterman would make the team, let alone start. Now he might be the odds on favorite.

Aw come on, don't ruin your trade value

Trade incoming!!!!!!
That was my exact thought. Showcase him and maybe get a 5th back.

Nothing if you want to delay the development of a qb that you traded up to take with the 7th overall pick.
Allen just turned 22 and has been focusing on football for less than 5 years. I highly doubt riding the bench for 8 games will delay his development all that much. There's a fair argument to be made that putting him behind our line before he's gotten used to NFL game speed will delay his development a lot more.

Nice, clean pockets on all three of these well executed throws.
Yeah but the argument is that the pocket was clean because he threw the ball on time before the pass rush had a chance to get to him. I don't know for sure how true that is, I'll leave it up to the coaches. But you can't really deny Peterman throws the ball about a half second quicker than Josh Allen which is an eternity in the pocket.

They also have his average passing YPG set at over/under 210.5.
-
Casual bettors would take the under. Which makes me think Vegas knows something. If the odds seem too good to be true, they probably are. I'm pretty sure a couple months ago the over under was 10 or 10.5. So Vegas thinks his odds to start all year are higher than ever.

Anyone paying attention knows this is a long term rebuild. Thank god we have a regime in place that finally after 20 years is implementing a real culture change and thinking beyond the next season.

Wow I'm really glad we didn't sign him. I couldn't handle another offseason scandal.

The reason there are no other 5 interception games in one half in the NFL is because there aren't any other OC's in the league
who would have kept calling for passing plays after watching a very rattled 5th round rookie QB in his first game struggle.
Dennison and McD must have been telling Peterman after each inception to put it all behind him and keep throwing the damn ball.
Correct. I blame Dennison for that game as much as Peterman. You're starting a rookie QB with less than a full week of practice as the starter, on the road, against a nasty defense. The game plan was terrible for that situation. I also blame Dennison for the pick he had at the end of the playoff game. Ooh I have an idea, let's have Peterman throw an outside curl route to a mediocre receiver who's covered by one of the best CBs in the league on the last drive of the game. Dennison should have been fired before the clock ran out.

Rosen missed the 3rd preseason game because he injured his thumb in practice.
Allen's head bounced off the turf and he was on the field for the next snap.

This is way off topic but it hit me that Josh Allen's nickname should be Joe Wyoming

He was terrible last night. There is no such thing as a comeback win in preseason because the final score is meaningless. Preseason games are just a series of practice scenarios. It doesn't count as a comeback because the defense isn't game planning to stop it. Sure he played a little better as the game went on and the worst players on the Bears depth chart took the field. Any remotely competent QB should have been able to move the ball at will yesterday. It was embarrassing.
