Well we've only played him twice and the first time he led his team to 9 points. Our bigger problem in those two games is that our offense couldn't move the ball consistently. Every time I watch Lawrence play I come away unimpressed, at least relative to his status as a "generational prospect." You can see all the high level technical skills that made him the 1st overall pick. There is just something missing. It's like he's a robot built to play QB with optimal mechanics and technique, but he lacks the natural feel for the game that the elite QBs have. The safety he took against Cleveland is a great example. He kind of drifts into the sack and just lets it happen. I've never seen him take over a game when his team needed him to. He's more of a refined thrower than a true football player IMO.

They would likely do that but liability waivers aren't automatic get out of lawsuit free cards. It's just an extra layer of protection.

More specifically we don't have a go to WR outside the numbers. Shakir has been very effective from the slot. Defenses are going to start clogging the middle and dare our WRs to win on the boundary. That is one addition that I think might be necessary to really compete for a Super Bowl this year.

Yeah you can win a lot of games when your defense and your kicker repeatedly make clutch plays. It's how they won a Super Bowl last year. Burrow unfortunately made too many mistakes of his own so they couldn't capitalize on the Chiefs mistakes. You have to play almost a perfect game against them.

Still very early but I wonder if the Chiefs are regretting not taking a LT with their 1st pick. Worthy is a luxury for them and doesn't look ready to contribute as anything more than a gadget player. Suamataia looks lost out there and was ultimately benched, and his replacement then immediately got a hands to the face penalty that wiped out a 4th down conversion. They made it work last year with bad tackle play but eventually that kind of vulnerability has to catch up to you, right?

Not sure how long this leaves him out, depends on how severe the fracture is. The quick research I've done indicates it can be as low as 6 weeks, but as high as 3-4 months.

Caleb's deep sideline passes have that EJ Manuel thing where they're not even close, they all look like throwaways.

Oh well at least the Texans offense looked more vulnerable than I expected. Caleb needs to learn this isn't college and he isn't Allen or Mahomes. But also he needs a real OC and real tackles so he has a chance to develop.

95% of the Bears passing offense tonight is quick swing passes that have no chance or low percentage jump balls. I have no idea what this play calling is.

Who is the Bears OC? He should be known as the ex-OC soon. Brutal play calling and doesn't have his unit prepared.

To be fair Diggs was definitely the right read there. Stroud just skipped the throw. I have no clue why Collinsworth is trying to say it was a miscommunication. The pass didn't make it far enough.

It's looked significantly worse IMO. He had 94 yards last week. Allen was producing quite a bit more than that even in his first few games and he wasn't throwing to the likes of DJ Moore/Keenan Alle either.

Caleb Williams is a mess. Throws are all over the place and he hasn't looked comfortable in the pocket. Looks like he has a long way to go before he can have his team really competing.

I called the Bears my dark horse team in the offseason but I'm about ready to get off that train immediately. Their coaching flat out sucks on both sides of the ball.

I said it earlier but having a kicker that can nail 50+ yarders consistently is a massive underrated advantage. No one wants to hear it but Harrison Butker is a big reason for the Chiefs success in recent years - in a game of inches and photo finishes, 3 points can be the difference. Ravens are a good example. They had the best kicker in the league for a decade and it won them games. Now Tucker can't hit 50+ yarders and they start the year 0-2. It isn't a factor you can just hand wave away.

I don't want to take anything away from Stroud but it's insane the margin of error that some of these QBs have. That throw was wide and should not have been completed. But his WR makes a great play and then his kicker nails a 59 yarder. 3 points on the board that could be the difference in a close game.

They need to reverse that, clearly no catch

I'm not sure their defense is that stout. Anthony Richardson missed a lot of wide open WRs last week. Adonai Mitchell should have had two deep TD receptions. This week so far the Bears offense is uncreative and easy to defend. The offense on the other hand is obviously legit.

I know they're trying to protect their rookie QB but they need to open the offense up a bit. They're doing him no favors constantly putting him in these 3rd and long situations because they pussyfoot around with preseason type plays on 1st and 2nd.

Bears offense is a mess schematically and the OL sucks.

God I hate the Panthers for letting another elite QB end up in the AFC.

Get used to it. Diggs is still a good WR. Not elite anymore but good. We didn't trade him because of talent.

I somehow missed Pacheco's injury earlier:
