That was a great audible for Allen too, we ran right by the blitz.

Nice heads up play by Brown crawling to the ball.

If Needham sits out for any extended amount of time we can blow the doors off this one real quick.

Safeties aren't playing up to their usual standard today.

Dang he just flat out missed that 2nd down throw. Shake it off and try again.

I appreciate that the message all week was "play fearless" and we are actually doing it. It wasn't just empty words.

I almost feel bad for Fitz in this one. He has no chance.

We always come ready to play after a loss. It's one of McDermott's best traits as a coach.

no he isnt....
Really?? He is one of the best natural throwers in the league. Unbelievable velocity and release. His processing speed is what needs work. How can you say Allen is not a good thrower?

I'm fine taking the points there. We've scored on all 4 drives. Keep moving the ball.

we can all agree that josh is a great runner......similar to kapernik 6 yrs ago
He's a great thrower too, just needs to learn to trust what he sees.

Okay Allen is really feeling it today. Nice. And I love the mix of the play calling.

That's a perfect blitz beater.

We need a new #2 CB next year. Wallace isn't strong enough to cover NFL receivers.

Oliver with the sack!! Hopefully that becomes a thing.

Brown is a good receiver but he cannot catch a slant to save his life.

A QB sneak on 3rd and short! I was so scared we would try to run Gore.

Good time for Hauschka to find himself. It's concerning the receivers can't get open against this secondary.

Had he been a Bill his whole career, he'd probably be more popular than Fred Jackson and Jim Kelly combined, seeing as he is actually a WNYer on top of being the best TE the game has ever seen.
As it is, he gets no love in these parts.
I was cool with Gronk, until this dirtbag play:

Okay, he throws to covered receivers 14% of the time, who knows the result of those plays or if there were other receivers open during the same play.
"Allen doesn't throw to covered receivers enough."
"Yes he does, here's proof."
"Why doesn't Allen throw to his open receivers enough?"
And around and around we go...

But to think Allen isn’t holding back the offense, based on his play, I don’t know what you’re watching.
Allen holds back the offense to some degree, as does Daboll, and the offensive line, and the entire supporting cast around him. I don't know what you expect. The offense is doing about as well as you could hope given the overall talent level. Guarantee you next year Beane will go all out to find a true #1 receiver.

It means great QBs elevate the level of play of those around them. You’d get greater production out of those “covered” WRs with a better QB.
John Brown is having the best season of his career, statistically. I think Allen's strengths are elevating his play. Of course Allen needs to keep improving. But let's not act like he's holding back the talent on this offense.

Rooting interests today:
Jets over Redskins, for draft purposes. And to make sure Gase gets another year.
Colts over Jaguars. This one is kind of a win/win for us, but the Colts have more wins so I'll root for them to keep the Jags out of the wildcard race.
Texans/Ravens I can't see much of a benefit either way. I guess I'll root for the Ravens so the Texans are more motivated to beat their division opponents the rest of the way.
Vikings over Broncos.
Eagles over Patriots.
Bengals over Raiders. The Raiders actually worry me more than any other wildcard contender and they have a pretty soft schedule the rest of the way. It would help if one of their easy games turned into a loss.
Chiefs over Chargers. This would effectively knock the Chargers out of the race. Although I'm starting to wonder about the Chiefs. If they lose today and the Raiders win I start to think of them as another wildcard contender.
Tough week to pick favorites.

When Knox has the ball in his hands he does amazing things. Just has to get more consistent catching it. Really nice play against the blitz once again.
