  1. Jaquan Johnson will get his shot first. If that fails, once White comes back maybe they try Benford at safety. We have a deep and versatile secondary. More likely than not the solution is already on the roster.
  2. Sounds like good news as far as him returning in 2023.
  3. I was thinking this too but his athletic profile to me seems more like a Poyer replacement than a Hyde replacement. Either way we have the best secondary coaching in the league. They'll figure it out.
  4. Trade deadline is November 1. The way I see it, Jaquan Johnson gets a 4 game audition to prove he's ready to be the future at safety. If he fails his audition we make a move.
  5. How many times did the drought-era Bills go into a game against an opponent with injuries to key players and still manage to lose? If Miami fans, or Bills fans for that matter, think the injury report equals a free win, they are underestimating the depth of this roster and the coaching. Our 3 elite talents - Allen, Diggs, and Miller - are all still playing. I'm still very confident we can beat the Dolphins. My main concern is just making sure none of these injuries linger for the whole season.
  6. Very. Their offense's Achilles heel is the OL. No secondary is going to hold Hill and Waddle from getting open, you just have to get to Tua and make him uncomfortable. Anyways our secondary is more about scheme than talent. That's why every year we have late round CBs that we're plugging in without missing a beat. If Oliver and Settle are in the game I'm not worried. I am however very concerned about Hyde's long term prognosis. Fingers crossed it is not as serious as it seems. I would hate to see a guy like that who's worked so hard have to hang it up early.
  7. 3 catches for 39 yards and I didn't see him separate much. His one handed catch was amazing, catch of the year for sure. But it's hard to make a living as just a contested catch specialist in the NFL. The only guy I've seen do it recently is Mike Williams.
  8. I would never be able to sleep again.
  9. Pittsburgh won't start Pickett until week 7 against the Dolphins at the earliest IMO. After the Jets next week they face the Bills then the Bucs. Why subject Pickett to those DL with a bad OL?
  10. Wasn't a good pass IMO. If you're going to throw it that fast it has to be right on the money. Cooper wasn't quite ready and it was a tiny bit behind him.
  11. We already clinched the division, he's shaving his playoff beard.
  12. Hey a Josh Allen shaving commercial! Way better than whatever that weird chips commercial is.
  13. He's the plus version of Sammy Watkins. Never lived up to his draft position, has supreme physical talent that he doesn't usually live up to, teams can't wait to be rid of him, occasionally goes off in a game or two, and in general he is pretty dumb.
  14. I take it back, I liked it better when the Bills were losing.
  15. Meanwhile his Miami teammate Jaelan Phillips has been invisible in Miami, at least statistically. So far in 2022: Phillips - 0 sacks, 1 solo tackle, 1 assisted tackle, 0 tackles for loss, 0 QB hits Rousseau - 2 sacks, 7 solo tackles, 1 assisted tackle, 3 tackles for loss, 3 QB hits Still VERY early but @BADOLBILZ seems to have pegged them exactly.
  16. You can't have a much harder start to the season than Aaron Donald followed by Jeffrey Simmons. Coming up we have Cam Heyward and Chris Jones. The rest of the season after that will feel like a bye week for our IOL.
  17. Top 5 grades: 1) Diggs (A) 2) Allen (A) 3) Milano (A-) 4) Poyer (A-) 5) Miller (A-) Bottom 5 grades: 1) Saffold (D+) 2) Van Roten (C) 3) Brewer (C) 4) Shakir (C) 5) Keenum (C+) Poor Case Keenum gets some real game action and ends up a bottom 5 player 😥
  18. I can understand maybe why Pats fans would have gotten bored after a while. That dynasty was not fun to watch. They won but it was just so boring and mechanical. I will never get bored watching Josh Allen play QB. The regular season wins are nice but watching him develop into Peyton Manning with even better physical traits has been a joy to watch and I'll enjoy every play I can while he's here. The simple truth is that it is unlikely there will ever be a Bills player in my or anyone else on here's lifetime that will be more fun to watch. If you aren't enjoying that because you're nervous or bored I feel sorry for you.
  19. I don't have the answer. I'm just basking in the moment that this is a legitimate question we are asking about my Buffalo Bills.
  20. This is great practice for the Chiefs. Last year in the divisional game we gave Mahomes escape routes. Instead of trying to rack up sack numbers, against the mobile QBs you pretty much just have to slowly compress the pocket around them so they barely have enough room to move their arm into a throwing position, let alone run out of the pocket.
  21. This. We're so focused on picking up 1 yard, it's like we forget we're allowed to pick up as many yards as we want. If the whole defense is keying up to stop the run, go play action and hit Diggs with a quick pass 6 yards down the field when he's 1-on-1 versus a rookie CB. I'll take those odds every time over hoping the right side of our OL and a rookie short-armed WR are able to hold their blocks. I think Dorsey, and really all coaches, need to trust the best players on their offense in those situations instead of trying to call the perfect play. Like the 4th and goal play that we scored on was dead, the Titans had McKenzie covered, but because Allen and Diggs are on the field it became a TD anyways.
  22. Watching it in real time I thought the Bills were waiting for the refs to measure the spot from the previous play, I saw the play clock winding down but I thought for sure it was going to be reset because the offense wasn't even getting ready. It looked like they didn't know the play clock was running, very bizarre. As a result the play was DOA before we even snapped the ball. It's a coaching detail that I'm sure McDermott will fix.
  23. One could equally argue that with this defense we can afford to pin a team deep, and with this offense we can score points on later drives anyways. And our offense is not built for 3rd or 4th and short. We don't have big beefy OL that force their matchup backwards, we have athletic specimens that keep the pocket wide on pass plays and move around to set up blocks in the run game. In fact I only want QB sneaks or normal pass plays on 3rd or 4th and short from now on. Read option or Zack Moss up the middle is doomed from the start. Allen either powers his way forward or finds an open receiver/scrambles. I don't know why we ever do anything else on those plays.
  24. There is such a thing as being over aggressive. I've seen several coaches lose games early because they didn't have faith in their team, i.e. Brandon Staley in a bunch of games last season. I think it has started seeping into coaches' brains that if they don't go for it on 4th down and they lose the game they'll be questioned, but if they go for it and lose the game no one will blame them as much. Contrary to popular belief field position does still matter, all the analytics show it, and the Titans don't exactly have a powerhouse offense. Being over aggressive is an invitation to let a team like that back into the game.
