In 4 out of 5 games he had over 100 all purpose yards. In fact he's averaging 102.4 all purpose yards per game this year. That's despite playing for possibly the worst offense in football.
-
We could actually do whatever we want with him... We don't have to force our offense to revolve around him or give him a certain number of touches per game. I wouldn't expect our entire offensive philosophy to change. He just gives us another element to use in our already elite offense. One more thing for defenses to account for. At his peak McCaffrey is a game changer. It's a no brainer to add another game changer to our offense for a reasonable price. I would still add OBJ in December too. Imagine the team we've seen so far this year but with Tre White, Christian McCaffrey, and OBJ added in... It's not often that you have a realistic chance to make Madden-esque improvements to your team like that. Leave no room for doubt that the Lombardi is ours for the taking.

It feels like the Panthers are intentionally letting teams know they would love to trade McCaffrey for the right price. Schefter and Rapaport don't report anything that doesn't come right from the team or the agent. Suuuure they aren't shopping McCaffrey. But also they're taking calls about him. He gets paid to be a mouthpiece for teams and agents. The Panthers are making it known that Robby Anderson and Christian McCaffrey are available, while others like Brian Burns and Derrick Brown and DJ Moore aren't. If Beane is willing to put all his chips in, McCaffrey is ours. Given how last season ended after he failed to close the deal on Von Miller I think he might be a little less cautious this time around and more willing to make the deal that could put us over the top.

Josh Allen with all of his receivers completely healthy against a 4th round rookie CB and a 7th round rookie CB. I like those odds.

Yeah, well, last week you were saying the 14 point spread was too large and it turned out we doubled the spread. So maybe people are sensitive to your criticism because it isn't based in fact?
-
I've seen several people point out that deep opportunities were there against the Ravens and Allen didn't even look at them. Clearly it was a point of emphasis in the week leading up to the Steelers - forget trying to beat their cover 2 safeties with quick short passes, just throw it over their heads.

McDermott thrives against one dimensional offenses. The Chiefs under Mahomes have never been able to run the ball consistently but having Hill and Kelce on the field at the same time made them two dimensional in a different way. Now their whole offense is basically just about methodically moving the ball through the air and scoring on goal to go situations. Obviously having Mahomes and Kelce makes that a more than viable strategy. But I think without the fear of Hill beating us deep, combined with a much improved front 4, we are going to have more freedom to take easy opportunities away from them. I think if we lose this game it will be something like 24-21 and the main talking point will be that our offense didn't pull its weight against an average defense. If Allen and our offense plays to their potential I really believe we beat them by 10+ points.

It might have been my favorite storyline of the game. Siran Neal comes off the bench just to play out the clock and casually shuts down all of his targets in coverage while clearly enjoying every second of it. He was so pissed when he dropped that interception. I love seeing that fire from a guy that almost never sees the field on defense and was playing on completely meaningless drives.

I doubt it. These are two completely different teams from what we saw in the divisional round. I think the talent level of the Chiefs and Bills went in opposite directions in the offseason. I'm not expecting another shootout. I think we either pull away from them by the end of the 3rd quarter, or our offense is disappointingly sluggish and we get pulled into a tight but relatively low scoring ball game.

The best defense in the NFL is about to add its best player. To every offense we face after the bye...
-
If he was here on an official visit the Bills would be required to report it. More likely he was here to see his good friend Von Miller and maybe get a sense of the culture in Buffalo in case he signs here later in the season.
-
That chart shows that our pass blocking is slightly better than KC's, but their run blocking is substantially better. I wouldn't say that shows Allen has to cover for bad OL play more than Mahomes, it shows that he can't lean on the run game as much. Although I watched the Chiefs run game against the Raiders and it looked just as pointless as ours does most of the time.
-
My take on it is that someone or multiple people with the Panthers are leaking the info, while people with the Bills are trying to shut down all the talk.
-
I think the Bills wouldn't want to disrupt team chemistry or create a distraction heading into the biggest game of the week. Singletary is a popular player on the team. The bye week is a perfect time to execute the trade, let the shock wear off, and start getting McCaffrey incorporated into the offense.

Panthers beat reporter for USA Today.
-
This guy is a Panthers podcaster that apparently reported early in the season that there was tension between Panthers players and their DC Phil Snow, and that report turned out to be correct. Take it with a grain of salt.
-
This is a Spanish broadcaster for Fox sports. Translated: "RB Christian McCaffrey said he wasn't comfortable in Carolina. The Bills, Tampa, Seattle, have called asking about a trade for the #NFL player" It would be pretty weird if 3 separate verified football reporters had heard something that wasn't true. There is a lot of smoke here.
-
My defining memory of the drought years will be all of the training camp sessions where I lived and died with every QB rep. A neverending shuffle of QBs that eventually failed in some tragic fashion or another. I was starved for positive reports about any one of the 3 QBs at camp. I cared so much about the stat lined put out by beat reporters. I looked for any glimmer of hope that one of these losers would suddenly become the franchise. It was just 4 years ago that Allen and McCarron and Peterman were competing for the job and it was a real competition for a while there which is just crazy in retrospect. Finally our patience was rewarded.

You make Adams the highest paid WR in the league and he gets soft on the most important catch of the day.
-
I dont understand why it wouldn't be a catch. So what if the ball moved a little, he had control of it with one hand and both feet down. One handed catches still count as catches.
-
I'm impressed with how versatile the bad officiating is. Bad calls, bad no-calls, a game changing call that you literally never see on a FG. The refs' parents must be in attendance, they're putting on a show!
-
I hope the Chiefs hand the ball off to CEH a lot next week. His waste of a 2nd down run gave the Raiders life.
-
Raiders special teams has been brutal. And this makes the pointless 2 point attempt even dumber in hindsight. They can't even play for OT if it comes to that.
