I'm not so sure of this. The cap is going to start going up dramatically in '24/'25. That's when the league will have recouped their 2021 losses and the new TV deals and gambling money will be kicking in. I think we could easily pay 2 of Edmunds, Poyer, and Oliver, and still overpay for Hopkins without sacrificing much if any of our future. Allen and others can be restructured. I don't want us to become the Rams but we could afford to make one big overpriced move IMO. When you have a QB with the biggest arm in the league you can easily rationalize overpaying for a WR with Hopkins' skill set.

Watching the 49ers game makes me more convinced that we should make this trade whatever it costs. Even when our offense is chugging it comes with a high degree of difficulty. I would love for Allen to have it easy next year.

Even if they don't, why not make the move anyways? True difference makers are hard to come by. Beane has been incredibly patient about using his draft picks and cap space. What's the point of all that patience if you don't cash in every once in a while?

Last year we missed out on Von Miller. This year we missed out on Christian McCaffrey. Both players transformed their respective teams. Just once I think we can afford to overpay for a difference maker. The more I think about it the more I want Beane to make it happen even if the price looks silly.

I don't understand why some of you people watch football. Do you actually enjoy the sport or is it a chore?

It isn't just about Skyler Thompson. Their entire OL is banged up. Waddle and Hill are nursing injuries. Mostert is unlikely to play. I would actually be very nervous about this game if we were facing the same squad from a few weeks ago. With this injury ravaged crew facing off against a fully healthy and motivated Bills team I don't see how they stand a chance. So yeah I still consider it almost as good as a bye week, earlier results in the season notwithstanding. They'll put up a fight but they aren't going to push us around.

He had limited total production but it feels like every catch he made was a big 3rd down conversion. This offense has missed 2020 Cole Beasley, so much so that we signed 2022 Cole Beasley just to get some of that skill set back. Crowder was filling that role before breaking his ankle. Not a game changer but a drive changer.
