  1. Joe isn't PFF, he actually watches and grades every snap. If there are plays where McKenzie gets open but doesn't get the ball he will still get some sort of positive grade for that snap. It's easier for a WR to avoid a really bad grade compared to an o-lineman because the WR isn't directly involved on every snap.
  2. I'm actually going to start with a couple snippets from Joe's post-game article. Some good info here: And here's the all-22 review: https://theathletic.com/3709749/2022/10/20/bills-all-22-film-review-chiefs?source=user-shared-article Top 5 grades: 1) Josh Allen (A) 2) Mitch Morse (A) 3) Von Miller (A-) 4) Tremaine Edmunds (A-) 5) Matt Milano (A-) Bottom 5 grades: 1) Isaiah McKenzie (C) 2) Tim Settle (C) 3) Dane Jackson (C+) 4) David Quessenberry (C+) 5) Rodger Saffold (C+)
  3. No question. Trading away Pat Mahomes and ending up with Sam Darnold is the kind of thing that might have made me quit watching football for a few years. Every now and then I have a panic attack when I remember how close we came to that reality. But hey the Jets passed on Mahomes AND Allen, and ended up with a QB whose greatest accomplishment is shared by any random pool boy in the Hamptons.
  4. Pretty crazy to think we traded away the pick that became Pat Mahomes and somehow walked away with arguably a better haul in Tre White and Josh Allen. It would have been the biggest draft flub in Bills history if the Browns or Jets took Allen before we had a chance. Dynasties are built on the whims of fate.
  5. Sure. 50% to the team, 50% to the winner, 50% to Dan Snyder's offshore bank account. The math checks out.
  6. I usually just ignore your posts, but I have to ask why did you put his name in quotes? What is this supposed to mean?
  7. Allen has, miraculously, become the best deep thrower in the league. I can't remember the last one he missed. Has it happened this year? It's at a point where as soon as I see the ball come flying out of his hand on an upwards trajectory I'm already out of my chair ready to celebrate. Remember when he couldn't hit a receiver downfield to save his life? Of all the weaknesses he's turned into strengths this might be the most impressive. I don't even know what Allen's weaknesses are right now. Maybe he could be a little better against blitzes? I think our plan against Kelce was more like our plan against Kupp - we'll give your #1 guy his completions but good luck getting the ball to anyone else. The strategy worked. The two Chiefs TDs were because of 3 DBs missing tackles which almost never happens in this defense, and Mahomes making an incredible pinpoint throw despite us having perfect coverage. That 2nd one is the kind of TD you live with against an elite QB. The goal with the Chiefs isn't to stop them, it's to keep them out of the endzone. Conceding some short/intermediate completions to Kelce isn't necessarily a bad thing. It's a lot better than the Raiders stopping him most of the way down the field but giving up 4 TDs.
  8. So now it's a matter of us signing him to make sure the Chiefs don't. Get it done.
  9. PFF has admitted that they only grade coverage players on plays where the ball comes their way. Any snap where the coverage play isn't involved they get a neutral grade. So if you're Milano spying the QB and sometimes covering Kelce your PFF grade is not going to reflect your performance. It's a pointless grading system with very little merit.
  10. AKA they want a 1st rounder but ultimately they'll take the best offer they can get.
  11. I hate to be this guy, but no he isn't. He's a really good vertical WR which is a perfect fit for our offense. But he isn't well rounded enough to be a consistent #1, and that's without taking his injury history into consideration.
  12. It sometimes feels like our offense plays a little too loose. I guess that's what naturally happens when you're so dominant compared to your opponent, you're having such an easy go of it that you get a little lax with the fundamentals. And defenses playing against us have the opposite mindset, they are totally locked in on every snap because they know that they have to be. I bet when playoff football comes around this problem will miraculously disappear as everybody on the offense gets into a Super Bowl mindset.
  13. Man, John Murphy's call of the final interception is embarrassing. He sounds like he couldn't care less.
  14. According to DVOA our offense is #1 but it is the lowest DVOA a #1 offense has ever had after week 6. The previous record was held by the 1981 Bengals. So yeah there is definitely something to this.
  15. I think it was an awful move and they are suffering for it. Hill is leading the NFL in receiving yards despite playing with 3 different limited QBs in Miami. The Chiefs replaced him with two average receivers. And rather than use the resulting draft picks to restock their offense, they drafted 2 defensive players. They're still amazing because of Mahomes and Kelce but they aren't nearly as scary as they were in the past. I will never understand why the Chiefs and Titans deliberately hurt themselves but I'm certainly thankful for it. Also thankful that we did the right thing and extended Diggs.
  16. I already told you to stop applying here, we aren't hiring.
  17. My one point of contention is that Dorsey schemed up an option/pitch play to McKenzie and a 4th down end zone pass to McKenzie, both of which probably should have been TDs. That's 14 points, or at least 10, taken off the board not because of poor play calls but because of poor execution. If we're going to use that as a defense for Frazier's play calls we should use it for Dorsey too. The Chiefs had a couple good defensive drives where they caught us with our pants down trying to adjust to the blitz but other than that we mostly moved the ball at will against them. I thought Dorsey called an excellent balanced game and used the full complement of weapons at our disposal to keep the Chiefs guessing. The 3rd down short yardage handoffs need to be deleted from the playbook though, no argument from me there.
  18. Yeah when people talk about the game slowing down for a QB, there's a certain point where they start noticing the miniscule details that make a huge difference. This is where I think the chips they use to create Next Gen Stats falls short. It isn't just about how far away a defender is from the receiver, it's about the position of their body and the leverage they have, not to mention whatever the QB is dealing with in the pocket at that point. The crazy thing is that Allen will only keep getting better in this area. The game will keep slowing down. And because he's the strongest baddest man on the field at all times it only takes a tiny slip-up from a defender to open up a huge opportunity for a big pass or scramble.
  19. That's honestly gotta really suck. For 6 weeks you're stuck on the sidelines watching your team dominate, watching other players at your position perform well, always knowing in the back of your mind that you might not be welcomed back when your 6 weeks is up. And then you get that dreaded call... Brutal business.
  20. The problem is we don't have great personnel to score in the red zone. Our OL isn't good enough to dominate defenses in compressed areas and our RBs aren't fast enough to maximize the small windows of opportunity that exist. I'd like to see us get Knox more involved. Outside of Allen he is our best red zone weapon. Other than that we need to either trade for McCaffrey or hope that James Cook develops because Singletary and Moss never find their way into the endzone.
  21. N'Keal Harry revenge game!
  22. Dan Orlovsky broke it down even better: But we should probably fire Leslie Frazier.
  23. Ahahahaha!! What is that special teams blocking strategy?? Oh wow I think Hackett might be the worst head coach in NFL history.
