  1. Have the 49ers considered not jumping Offside?
  2. Maybe we pitch the ball to the RB instead of the slot WR that the play is supposed to go to? Yeah, that definitely makes sense.
  3. I still can't believe the Chiefs traded Tyreek Hill. They handed us a gift. Even more unbelievable is that Chiefs fans had convinced themselves the offense would be BETTER without him because the ball would be spread around more. Lose elite players, suffer the consequences. CC: Tennessee Titans
  4. If we drafted Breece Hall maybe Mahomes throws a TD on the opening drive and the whole game changes. I don't think an NFL team has ever screwed up passing on a RB in the 1st round.
  5. They aren't calling holding this year. If you look for it you'll think you've gone crazy with how much uncalled holding there is. If they were calling it like they usually do most offenses would be unwatchable so it's a deliberate choice by the league.
  6. Jags should be in position to at least tie the game on this drive, but Doug Pederson inexplicably goes it for on every 4th down no matter what.
  7. I think Broncos/Jets could be a 6-3 Browns over Bills redux. Tune in now so you don't miss one moment of this instant classic.
  8. They were desperate today and are going to lose to Taylor Henicke.
  9. Doug Pederson has gotten ridiculous with his 4th down aggressiveness. Know the team that you're coaching.
  10. The NFC South winner is going to be 7-10
  11. No you have to bet it on the Packers and make sure NOT to tell your wife.
  12. OL play around the NFL is worse than it's ever been. Every other offensive play I see on NFL Redzone is a jailbreak.
  13. This is Todd Bowles football. We should know.
  14. Is the NFC South the worst division in football?
  15. CEH has been like if we used a 1st round pick on Zack Moss. Every time they give him the ball it kills the drive unless Mahomes makes a miraculous play on 3rd and long.
  16. Hamler is a slot only WR with injury issues. Probably not interested in that for anything more than a late day 3 pick. Jeudy has been too shaky catching the ball for me to trust him. Nothing turns me off of a WR more than drop issues. For our 3rd I'd consider it because of upside, but I'm guessing they want at least a 2nd to even think about it. I would just stay the course at WR for now. We'll have Kumerow back within a few weeks and we can sign OBJ once he's ready to play some time in December.
  17. You know what I found the play on Twitter and you're correct it is man coverage but no one actually covered McKenzie. Anyways this discussion has gotten really nitpicky. McKenzie had an awful game. I would like to see his role taken by Shakir. I'll leave it at that.
  18. When teams face Taylor and Chubb they are specifically trying to stop them. When teams face Singletary they concede his yards. This passing game combined with a top tier RB would be unstoppable. But I don't even need a top tier RB. I would accept a RB that occasionally rushes into the endzone. I see 30+ yard rushing TDs several times a week. The way that defenses play us those kinds of opportunities should be available. Singletary takes what the defensive scheme and run blocking gives him and has enough contact balance to fall forward for an extra couple of yards. But he doesn't create explosive plays and TDs. Throw whatever efficiency stats at me that you want, I'm not satisfied with his 0 rushing TDs through 6 games. I'm not satisfied that we only have 20+ yard rushing plays from our RBs when the opposing defense makes a big mistake.
  19. Against zone coverage in this offense it is expected that the WR will stop his route. Throws are "behind" when a WR is running away from his man in coverage and has to make an awkward catch. This was a situation where Allen under pressure just had to get the ball to the zone that McKenzie ran into. So no I don't agree that the pass was behind him. I think Allen threw it to where he expected McKenzie to stop his route with wide open space all around him and McKenzie inexplicably tripped over his own feet. There's no need in that situation to lead the receiver. For 99% of slot receivers in the NFL that is a TD.
  20. Yeah, well, McKenzie isn't one of the best receivers in the league. When elite players have a bad game you accept that. When a gadget player with a history of clumsy play makes a series of possibly game changing mistakes in the most critical game of the season you can't just hand wave that away. McKenzie will still make some plays for us this year but I don't trust him in crunch time. Imagine it's 4th down on the last drive in the Super Bowl and someone tells you the ball is going to McKenzie. You're honestly telling me you feel comfortable in that moment?
  21. A pro receiver shouldn't have any trouble stopping his momentum and sitting down in an open area in zone coverage. In fact this scheme calls for it. This is one of those things where because the result was negative we're looking for excuses. If McKenzie had simply kept his balance and caught the ball as it hit him in the chest no one would be criticizing the pass for being behind him. Let's just call it what it was, a really bad game for McKenzie, and move on.
  22. Happy Gilmore is my favorite comedy of all time. I made my username as a play on that title and the fact that I believed happy days would come for Bills fans before long. I made the username in 2013 right after we drafted EJ Manuel so I was a few years off.
