I think Allen has a natural instinct for avoiding big hits while running. Injuries tend to happen when you take a hit from an awkward position, like the elbow injury he suffered while winding up to throw the ball. Running into contact and positioning his body right to absorb the contact is not a dangerous play. It might look like a big hit but Allen is big and strong and he's initiating the contact. I'm not worried about it at all.

It's worth pointing out the Patriots have the 7th ranked rush defense by DVOA and we were still able to run it that well against them. And I don't think it's because our line and RBs suddenly became above average, it's because the Patriots backed everyone off and gave us free rushing yards. These easy rush opportunities have been there all year, Dorsey just hasn't been willing to stick with them. Every defense we face is selling out to stop our passing game. We have to commit to punishing defenses on the ground and slowly the pass game will open up. Last night was really encouraging but there was a still a few drives in the middle of the game where Dorsey got impatient and started calling killshots on every play. Get rid of that overaggressive tendency and we'll move the ball on everyone.

This must be a post from 2021. There's no way you've watched the defense when he isn't on the field this year and haven't noticed a drop off.

There was never a such thing as an Edmunds hater. Before this season he didn't live up to his draft status and was often times singled out and exploited by smart offenses. This year everything has finally clicked for him and it's impossible to imagine the defense being successful without him. I'm not going to eat crow. He developed into a much better player. Instead of pretending that he has always been this good I'm going to credit him for working his ass off to get to this point. And yes I would happily reward him with a big contract at the end of the season.

First Pats offensive play of the game was about to be a big run for a 1st down and more, and immediately Rousseau reminded us all why we missed him getting his big paws on the RB and taking him down after a measley two yards. Three plays later they have to punt. It was a tone-setting play and it was one of many that he single handedly wrecked.

Those easy yards have been there all year. We just haven't taken them. I think the Titans and Steelers games might have broken Dorsey's brain. He now thinks that if we're up by 14 points we must go up by 21 points within 3 plays or he failed. He removed his head from his posterior at halftime tonight and got us back on track taking the free yards. Hopefully this is a permanent change. Football doesn't have to be that complicated.

McDermott was just asked about this, he basically said it was just about what they saw on tape and alluded to a "good competition" between Rhodes and Elam. This is pretty troubling. Gross answer.

I saw the Bills lose this exact game to the Patriots a million times. We get an early lead off of some flukey play, then the Patriots run the most boring offense you've ever seen with a couple splash plays thrown in and before you know it we're losing by 3 scores and throwing check downs on 3rd and long. I could get used to 20 years of this.- 581 replies

Isn't Mac Jones supposed to be accurate? Isn't that his whole thing? His passes are all over the place tonight. What exactly does he do well? -

I hope so. That or he got ill or his ankle injury flared up. Nothing else makes any sense. -

Nothing I've seen from Rhodes or Jackson tonight helps me understand why we benched Elam. I hope we get some answers after the game. -

That's where Singletary frustrates me. I feel like literally every single other RB in the league gets a 1st down there. He's just so slow. -

Outside of losing his head for two consecutive drives Dorsey has called an excellent game. Nothing crazy. Just fundamentals and calling plays to take advantage of what the defense is giving us. -

It's an utterly boring style of offense. The Patriots built a two decade dynasty out of it. -

Boom. 95 yards with nothing but simple runs and short passes. I hope Dorsey learned something tonight. If defenses want to give us easy yards for free, take them. -

1st down run for 3 yards 2nd down run for 3 yards 3rd down throw to Diggs That's this whole drive. Fundamentals win. -

I swear we are the only team I ever see called for defensive holding on run plays. -

It was actually a very well calls drive. Quick passes and runs to make up for Quessenberry's ineptitude.
